Sleep EEG signals analysis is a hotspot of research recently,this paper,by using nonlinear dynamics theory knowledge,JSD algorithm and multi-scale JSD algorithm is proposed for some individual conscious period and NREM sleep stage I analyzed the research of EEG signals,and the use of SPSS statistical software to verify the veracity and reliability of the experiment,at the same time,with the error bar graph method to analysis the two different states of sleep EEG signals,the results show that both the JSD algorithm and the multi-scale JSD algorithm can effectively distinguish between awake and NREM sleep stage I of EEG signals,these two conditions' EEG signals exist significant differences,The algorithm we proposed can be further used in the study of sleep EEG in installment,which can also provide all kinds of disease diagnosis and treatment of sleep with effective auxiliary function,the research has important practical significance in the future.

Fetal electrocardiogram(FECG) separation gets widely attention due to its clinical significance In the paper, we proposed an improved robust independent component analysis for fetal ECG separation Firstly, wavelet decomposition was applied to fetal ECG to get the relevant parameters Then, the Robust ICA was used to separate the mixed signals Compared to robust independent component analysis, computing speed of the improved algorithm increased by an average of 15 percent while minimum mean square error fluctuations 00008, which indicated that this algorithm could be effectively used in clinical fetal ECG monitoring

The restoration quality of a motion-blurred image is highly dependent on the estimation accuracy of the motion blurring parameter. This manuscript presents a novel and precise method for estimation of the motion blurring length, wherein the ringing artifact amount of a deblurred image is measured by energy proportion contained in appropriate frequency bands, and a blurring length with minimum ringing artifact amount is taken as the optimal estimation of the true blurring length. Experimental results show good performance of the proposed algorithm in motion blurring length estimation. © 2011 IEEE.

Motion analysis can provide useful information for biomedical researches. In this paper, we have presented a video tracking system for limb motion measurement in small animals. The system employs a consumer-grade video camera to record the locomotion of a rat, which can reduce the cost of the system. Three matching methods are availab.e for different application. Moreover, a new algorithm to forecast the joint positions based on the polynomial fitting and improved Kalman filtering algorithms has been proposed, not only for limiting the region of matching, but also for marker occlusion and various maneuverability of the limb. Two methods are also applied to detect mismatch for ensuring a reliable tracking. Once 2D markers positions are collected, kinematic characteristics of the motion can be derived. Finally, the experimental results of the tracking system are presented. © 2010 IEEE.

Collab.rative filtering algorithm via compressing the sparse user-rating-data matrix

The paper proposes a novel memory-based collab.rative filtering algorithm-Multi-lab.l Probabilistic Latent Semantic Analysis based Collab.rative Filtering, which improves the quality of recommendations by reducing the dimension of the user-rating-data matrix by multi-lab.l probabilistic latent semantic analysis when the matrix is extremely sparse. Firstly, it confines the set of latent variables of probability latent semantic analysis to the set of multi-lab.l of items to make latent variables have meanings of corresponding lab.ls. Then it learns the probabilistic distribution of latent variables, i.e., the model of use's interest, to compress the user-rating-data matrix. Finally, it computes the similarity between different users based on the above learned model and makes recommendations. Compared to memory-based collab.rative filtering algorithms, the proposed algorithm decreases the mean absolute error 4 percents averagely on test dataset by reducing the dimension of the user-rating-data matrix. The proposed algorithm makes the recommendation system understandable and obtains competitive recommendations compared to the filtering algorithm which reduces the dimension of the user-rating-data matrix by probabilistic latent semantic analysis.

In this paper, we present a new reconstruction method with volumetric registration and semi-automatic segmentation in a multi-view 3D freehand ultrasound imaging system. The new volumetric registration approach is performed on binarized walls using non-linear least squares. It can provide accurate multi-view reconstructions despite significant rigid target motion between different acoustic window acquisitions. A hybrid adaptive gradient vector flow (GVF) geometric active contour (GAC) model is used for image sequence segmentation. It allows for relatively simple initialization of the deformable model, while avoiding edge leaking at poor edges and small boundary gaps. The algorithms were validated on four ultrasound phantom data sets (eight sequences of a total of 336 images) and two echocardiography data sets (four sequences for a total of 75 images). Quantitative evaluation shows that automatic segmentation is comparable with manual segmentation. Using breath-holding and cardiac gating, volume estimates from multiview reconstructions of the left-ventricle were found to be in better agreement with clinical estimates than volumes estimated from single view reconstructions.

The autonomous optical navigation algorithm is validated using the digital simulation.

The image elements of earth-center and moon-center are obtained by processing the images of earthand moon, these image elements in combination with the inertial attitude information and the moon ephemerisare utilized to obtain the probe initial position relative to earth, and the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm is usedto determine the accurate probe position relative to earth, and the probe orbit relative to earth is estimated by u-sing the extended Kalman filter. For brain function study, it is very important to assess the state of different attention conditions. In this paper, we study a cross-correlation between different attention electroencephalograph (EEG) signals by detrended cross-correlation analysis (DCCA). We use the method to study attention α wave EEG. And, we found that is possible to discriminate the cross-correlation between the meditation state of closing eyes and the absence of mind. It was found that the DCCA values of idle subjects' α wave EEG signals increased compared the meditating participants' α wave EEG signals. And it can be particularly helpful for treatment and brain development research.

This paper presents a new affine registration approach for planar point pattern matching. A process of parameter space clustering is implemented to confirm a one-to-one mapping between the maximal subsets of feature point sets in images. For a best performance, a coarse parameter space and a fine parameter space are used for vectors comparison. Today, the world economy is in the stage of rapid development, followed by the rising quantity, the decreasing moisture content, and the increasing heat value of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). Since waste incineration has the advantages of excellent volume reduction effect, high resource utilization efficiency, and less secondary pollution to the environment, waste incineration disposal technology has received extensive attention worldwide. With the continuous increase of the urban population, the amount of sewage sludge is growing year by year. The process of the sludge incineration system is highly complicated, and the cost of construction and operation is high. The waste incinerator can process not only MSW but also sewage sludge. Therefore, the co-incineration of sewage sludge with MSW in the existing waste incinerator is a safe and effective way to dispose of sewage sludge. In this paper, the simulation results of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are analyzed for medium-scale and large-scale waste incinerators, characterized by high moisture content, high ash content, low heat value of sewage sludge, and incomplete combustion and high pollutant emissions in waste incinerators. With FLIC-Fluent coupled simulation method, the critical information such as temperature field, velocity field, concentration field of principal components, and the pollutant emissions can be predicted. Based on the CFD simulation results, the performance and structure of waste incinerators can be optimized, and the new products can be designed and developed. © COPYRIGHT SPIE.
