Aiming at the characters of weak and small targets in infrared images, an algorithm based on Least Squares Support Vector Machines (LS-SVM) is presented to fuse long-wave and mid-wave infrared images and detect targets. image intensity surfaces for the neighborhood of every pixel of the original long-wave infrared image and mid-wave infrared are well-fitted by mapped LS-SVM respectively. And long-wave and mid-wave infrared image gradient images are obtained by LS-SVM based on radial basis kernels function. Fusion rule is set up according to the features of gradient images. At last, segment fused image and targets can be detected with contrast threshold. Compared with wavelet fusion detection algorithm and morphological fusion detection algorithm, when a target is affected by baits, the experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach in the paper based on LS-SVM to fuse and detect weak and small target is reliable and efficient.

This paper introduces a new class of switching vector median filter. The proposed algorithm first uses four directional masks to analyze the color difference between the central pixel and its neighborhood pixels in the RGB color space and classify each color pixel into noisy pixel or noise-free one, and then employs the standard vector median filtering operations in the detected noisy locations to restore the corrupted pixels and leave the noise-free ones unchanged. The simulation results show that the proposed method excellently suppresses impulsive noise as well as preserving the image details well, and significantly outperforms the existing vector filtering solutions in terms of both the objective measures and the perceptual visual quality.

In order to identify the local areas whose activity are most similar with region of interest (ROI), we usually compute the correlation of fMRI data for the brain functional connectivity. The fMRI data is usually noisy, extraction of functional connectivity with the voxel by voxel based method such as Pearson correlation analysis is not robust. Many people smooth the fMRI data before compute the correlation coefficient, which only makes the effect worse, because some useful original information is lost during the smoothing. Here, we analyzed this issue in details and improved the data processing flow to make the result better. Furthermore, a new criterion RV correlation coefficient was introduced in this article to measure the correlation between two local brain regions; This multivariate correlation technique applied the spatiotemporal information within the local regions to measure the similarity of the activity in different brain regions. We compared four different strategies mentioned above to detect the functional connectivity on the simulated and real fMRI data, and the results demonstrated that the RV-coefficient method obtained the best performance.

In traditional Direct Torque control (DTC), speed regulator is widely based on conventional Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller, which has to depend on precise math model of the subject. However, PID cannot easily achieve swift response, small overshooting and fine speed control precision especially in low speed range. This paper introduces a nonlinear control technology-Auto Disturbance Rejection controller (ADRC) into DTC to improve the speed adaptation capability and robustness, and a parameter design method of stator flux estimation is proposed. The simulation results prove the system has good control performance.
