With the rapid development of smart manufacturing, existing microservice deployment strategies based on the TCP protocol tend to encounter problems such as network latency, excessive header length, and port exhaustion in high concurrency scenarios. MQTT Broker can relay data between microservices, effectively alleviating these issues. However, the communication overhead of the Broker is significantly related to its deployment and the dependency of microservices. An appropriate deployment solution can significantly improve service quality. To address this issue, this paper models the deployment of MQTT Broker and microservices as a graph with cycles. By introducing auxiliary variables, the NP-hard problem is transformed into a mixed-integer quadratic programming problem, improving problem-solving efficiency and optimizing the microservices deployment strategy to reduce communication overhead. Meanwhile, a real-world heterogeneous cluster was constructed to experiment on fault detection applications, elaborating on the superiority of the microservice deployment strategy designed in this paper. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach reduces communication overhead by 20% in comparison to both the greedy strategy and the K8s strategy. This suggests that achieving an optimal balance between the number of Brokers and microservices is vital for ensuring efficient resource utilization and maintaining low communication latency, particularly as the scale of services expands. © 2024 IEEE.

Compared with monochromatic holographic displays, color holographic displays have rich depth and color information, which can give observers a more pleasant visual effect. Inspiring by the adaptive weighted GS method, we introduced an optimized iterative method based on exponential weighted constraint to calculate phase-only holograms of color images. After channel separation of the target image to obtain each component image, the input complex amplitude is formed with quadratic phase and iterated. During the iteration, subtract the amplitude of the reconstructed image from the amplitude of the target image to construct an exponential constraint. This exponential constraint is applied to the signal area of the image plane. After calculating the three-channel phase hologram, a color holographic reconstruction can be obtained using the time multiplexing method. Simulated and optical experiments verify the effectiveness of this method. © 2023 SPIE.

The purpose of fusing infrared and visible photos is to provide high-quality combined images with clear objects and detailed textures, even in very dark environments. The visual quality and contrast of both infrared and visible images tend to suffer in low-light situations. Previous algorithms fused poor- quality source images directly, resulting in fused images that still had low contrast and lost detail information. Thus, in this paper, we first design a multi-level brightness adjustment unit to learn visible light illumination components layer by layer and perform luminance enhancement while fusing multi-source image information. Second, to enhance the network's capacity for feature extraction, we developed the parallel attention module. This module was inserted after each brightness adjustment module. Extensive trials show that our technique works better than nine common fusion methods when compared visually and using objective measures. © 2024 IEEE.

Industrial cyber-physical systems (ICPS) integrate physical processes with computational and communication technologies in industrial settings. With the support of edge computing technology, it is feasible to schedule large-scale sensors for efficient distributed sensing. In the sensing process, observability is the key to obtaining complete system states, and stochastic scheduling is more suitable considering uncertain factors in wireless communication. However, existing works have limited research on observability in stochastic scheduling. Targeting this issue, we propose an observability-based intelligent distributed edge sensing method (OIDM). Deep reinforcement learning (DRL) methods are adopted to optimize sensing accuracy and power efficiency. Based on the system's ability to achieve observability, we establish a bridge between observability and the number of successful sensor transmissions. Novel linear approximations of observability criteria are provided, and probabilistic bounds on observability are derived. Furthermore, these bounds guide the design of action space to achieve a probabilistic observability guarantee in stochastic scheduling. Finally, our proposed method is applied to the estimation of slab temperature in industrial hot rolling process, and simulation results validate its effectiveness. © 2024 IEEE.

We study a solo adaptation-based protocol design problem for distributed synchronization of event-triggered linear multi-agent systems (MAS) over general directed graphs. We show that a solo adaptive gain, a locally static control gain matrix, and a distributed state measurement are sufficient for obtaining adaptive distributed synchronization of linear MAS over directed graphs without any prior knowledge of the global communication network. We then extend the solo adaptation structure to formulate an event-triggered synchronization control protocol. The main feature of our result is that the time for triggering a subsequent event is now computed using the distributed event-triggered state measurement, rather than the continuous-time state measurement. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Semantic Segmentation is the foundation of scene understanding and automatic driving tasks. One of the challenges of semantic segmentation is the reduction of feature resolution as the network goes deep. In this paper, the low-resolution features are integrated into high-resolution features progressively, enabling high-resolution prediction. Currently, incorporating the auxiliary depth information into a semantic segmentation framework has proven to be helpful to improve accuracy. However, additional process of depth data immensely increases computational complexity, resulting in limitation for practical application. Here, a real-time bimodal semantic segmentation network that effectively extracts and fuses complementary information is investigated. Our network extends a light-weight architecture which can seamlessly take advantage of various prevalent backbone networks. Our model extracts RGB and depth features from two branches in parallel and integrates multi-level features of two modalities through bimodal feature fusion blocks. To reduce computation complexity, we employ depth-wise separable convolution while keep performance intact. Meanwhile, an attention mechanism is exploited to recalibrate the fusion modality features adaptively. Refinement components are retained to refine multi-resolution feature maps. We conduct ablative study to demonstrate the availability of our bimodal fusion blocks. Comprehensive experiments validate that the proposed network outperforms the state-of-the-arts and achieves 18 FPS on the challenging RGB-D dataset, NYUDv2. © 2022 IEEE.

The research of fuel cell and lithium battery hybrid system has attracted more and more researchers because of its advantages of low emission. However, the lower efficiency of energy management has been a critical factor that obstruct the commercialization of hybrid system. In this work, based on finite element ideas, a solid oxide full cell node model is developed to accurately estimate the operating status of the fuel cell. As for lithium battery, previous energy management studies generally only focused on state of charge, however, state of health is also a key parameter for lithium battery. In this paper, considering the strong coupling between variables we use particle filter algorithm to jointly estimate the state of charge and state of health. To reasonably distribute and manage the energy in the hybrid system, a T-S fuzzy controller for the hybrid system is designed by controlling the state variables in the SOFC model and the state of lithium battery. Finally, our algorithm is verified by DSPACE simulation platform. The result shows that the hybrid system with the energy management strategy not only meets the real-time sharply changing demand but also ensures the hybrid system working efficiently and safely. © 2022 china Electric Power Research Institute.
