Few-shot classification aims to learn a classifier that categorizes objects of unseen classes with limited samples. One general approach is to mine as much information as possible from limited samples. This can be achieved by incorporating data from multiple modals. However, existing multi-modality methods only use additional modality in support samples while adhering to a single modal in query samples. Such approach could lead to information imbalance between support and query samples, which confounds model generalization from support to query samples. Towards this problem, we propose a task-adaptive semantic feature learning mechanism to incorporate semantic features for both support and query samples. The semantic feature learner is trained episodic-wisely by regressing from the feature vectors of the support samples. It is utilized to predict semantic features for the query samples. Such method maintains a consistent training scheme between support and query samples and enables direct model transfer from support to query data, which significantly improves model generalization. We conduct extensive experiments on four benchmarks in both inductive and tranductive settings. Results show that the proposed TasNet outperforms state-of-the-art methods with an improvement of 1% to 5% in classification accuracy, demonstrating the superiority of our method. We propose a latent multi-view subspace clustering model based on Laplacian regularized representation. To emphasize the information of the representation matrix at the local level and reflect the grouping effect of clustering, a Laplacian regularization is imposed on the representation matrix. Additionally, To boost the efficiency o f c lustering, we apply nonnegative constraints on the representation matrix. A unified framework is designed to solve the proposed model by using ALM and LADMAP methods. The proposed model has excellent performance, as demonstrated by a number of experimental findings.

This paper proposes a novel online-learning-enabled hierarchical distributionally robust energy management framework for multi-microgrids (MMGs) with off-site hydrogen refueling stations (HRSs). The proposed framework integrates day-ahead scheduling, intra-day rescheduling and real-time control. The day-ahead scheduling is implemented via a central energy management system for optimal joint scheduling of the MMG systems and off-site HRSs, then the intra-day rescheduling is carried out to optimize the real-time operation and to generate the reference for local controllers. To adequately characterize the statistical properties of renewable and load uncertainties from data streams, we leverage a Dirichlet process mixture model to construct an online-update ambiguity set, which encodes multimodality and local moment information. Based upon this ambiguity set, an online-learning distributionally robust model predictive control (OL-DRMPC) is developed to enhance the tracking performance of energy storage references and to reduce conservatism while guaranteeing probabilistic operational constraints. Its effectiveness is verified in a case study.

Scale-free distributed control for the DC MG cluster under DoS attacks: An asynchronous switched strategy

This paper studies the voltage restoration problem of the DC Microgrid (MG) cluster with a two-layer communication structure under Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks. Based on the open multiagent framework, an asynchronous switching strategy is designed to suppress the impact of DoS attacks on the entire MG cluster’s voltage restoration. Meanwhile, we derived the relationship between attack model parameters and communication link switching mode selection through the general model of DoS attacks and asynchronous switching methods based on average dwell time. Moreover, the designed distributed control protocol is scale-free; that is, it does not rely on any information from the two-layer communication structure and the number of distributed generations (DGs), which makes it universal. Through rigorous theoretical proof, it has been proven that in the DC MG cluster with two-layer communication structures, voltage restoration can be achieved regardless of the number and structure of DGs being attacked. Finally, two simulation examples on the MATLAB/SimPowerSystem, including a DC MG cluster consisting of 8 DGs and an IEEE 33-node system are used to investigate the scalability and flexibility of the proposed distributed control algorithm.

End-to-end Driving in High-Interaction Traffic Scenarios with Reinforcement Learning

Dynamic and interactive traffic scenarios pose significant challenges for autonomous driving systems. Reinforcement learning (RL) offers a promising approach by enabling the exploration of driving policies beyond the constraints of pre-collected datasets and predefined conditions, particularly in complex environments. However, a critical challenge lies in effectively extracting spatial and temporal features from sequences of high-dimensional, multi-modal observations while minimizing the accumulation of errors over time. Additionally, efficiently guiding large-scale RL models to converge on optimal driving policies without frequent failures during the training process remains tricky. We propose an end-to-end model-based RL algorithm named Ramble to address these issues. Ramble processes multi-view RGB images and LiDAR point clouds into low-dimensional latent features to capture the context of traffic scenarios at each time step. A transformer-based architecture is then employed to model temporal dependencies and predict future states. By learning a dynamics model of the environment, Ramble can foresee upcoming traffic events and make more informed, strategic decisions. Our implementation demonstrates that prior experience in feature extraction and decision-making plays a pivotal role in accelerating the convergence of RL models toward optimal driving policies. Ramble achieves state-of-the-art performance regarding route completion rate and driving score on the CARLA Leaderboard 2.0, showcasing its effectiveness in managing complex and dynamic traffic situations. OadTR: Online action detection with transformers

Most recent approaches for online action detection tend to apply Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) to capture long-range temporal structure. However, RNN suffers from non-parallelism and gradient vanishing, hence it is hard to be optimized. In this paper, we propose a new encoder-decoder framework based on Transformers, named OadTR, to tackle these problems. The encoder attached with a task token aims to capture the relationships and global interactions between historical observations. The decoder extracts auxiliary information by aggregating anticipated future clip representations. Therefore, OadTR can recognize current actions by encoding historical information and predicting future context simultaneously. We extensively evaluate the proposed OadTR on three challenging datasets: HDD, TVSeries, and THUMOS14. The experimental results show that OadTR achieves higher training and inference speeds than current RNN based approaches, and significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in terms of both mAP and mcAP. For battery management systems, it is significant to reliably estimate state-of-charge (SOC) from limited measurements in real time. Based on a nonlinear SOC-dependent equivalent circuit model, we propose a real-time moving horizon estimation (MHE) algorithm for SOC estimation. For efficient computation, the sequential quadratic programming strategy is applied, and each quadratic programming (QP) iteration is solved via the structure-exploiting forward and backward recursions. To account for the limited computation time allowed within each sampling interval, the proposed algorithm does not fully solve the receding horizon optimization problem over each sliding window, but performs fixed number of QP iterations. The simulation results show that compared to the existing fully solved MHE applied to SOC estimation, the proposed real-time MHE algorithm significantly saves computation time at the cost of a slight loss of estimation performance.

Self-supervised learning for semi-supervised temporal action proposal

Self-supervised learning presents a remarkable performance to utilize unlabeled data for various video tasks. In this paper, we focus on applying the power of self-supervised methods to improve semi-supervised action proposal generation. Particularly, we design an effective Self-supervised Semi-supervised Temporal Action Proposal (SSTAP) framework. The SSTAP contains two crucial branches, i.e., temporal-aware semi-supervised branch and relation-aware self-supervised branch. The semi-supervised branch improves the proposal model by introducing two temporal perturbations, i.e., temporal feature shift and temporal feature flip, in the mean teacher framework. The self-supervised branch defines two pretext tasks, including masked feature reconstruction and clip-order prediction, to learn the relation of temporal clues. By this means, SSTAP can better explore unlabeled videos, and improve the discriminative abilities of learned action features. We extensively evaluate the proposed SSTAP on THUMOS14 and ActivityNet v1.3 datasets. The experimental results demonstrate that SSTAP significantly outperforms state-of-the-art semi-supervised methods and even matches fully-supervised methods. This paper considers privacy-concerned distributed constraint-coupled resource allocation problems over an undirected network, where each agent holds a private cost function and obtains the solution via only local communication. With privacy concerns, we mask the exchanged information with independent Laplace noise against attackers with potential access to all network communications. We propose a differentially private distributed mismatch tracking algorithm (diff-DMAC) to achieve cost-optimal distribution of resources while preserving privacy. Adopting constant stepsizes, the linear convergence property of diff-DMAC in mean square is established under the standard assumptions of Lipschitz smoothness and strong convexity. Moreover, it is theoretically proven that the proposed algorithm is ϵ-differentially private. And we also show the trade-off between convergence accuracy and privacy level. Finally, a numerical example is provided for verification.
