This paper addresses the application of hand gesture recognition in monocular image sequences using Active Appearance Model (AAM), For this work, the proposed algorithm is composed of constricting AAMs and fitting the models to the interest region. In training stage, according to the manual labeled feature points, the relative AAM is constructed and the corresponding average feature is obtained. In recognition stage, the interesting hand gesture region is firstly segmented by skin and movement cues. Secondly, the models are fitted to the image that includes the hand gesture, and the relative features are extracted. Thirdly, the classification is done by comparing the extracted features and average features. 30 different gestures of Chinese sign language are applied for testing the effectiveness of the method. The Experimental results are given indicating good performance of the algorithm.

In this paper, we propose an algorithm to solve the issue of actuator fault FDI of combined system. The algorithm is based on space geometry method. Firstly, we use space division theory and space projection operation of unobservability subspace to solve system matrix parameters. Then build a residual generator to realize decoupling corresponding relation of residuals and faults in combined system. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm are shown for actuator FDI by simulations.

A new method is presented to study the function projective lag synchronization(FPLS) of chaotic systems via adaptive-impulsive control. To achieve synchronization, suitable nonlinear adaptive-impulsive controllers are designed. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory and the impulsive control technology, some effective sufficient conditions are derived to ensure the drive system and the response system can be rapidly lag synchronized up to the given scaling function matrix. Numerical simulations are presented to verify the effectiveness and the feasibility of the analytical results.

A syntax-oriented method for a map-aided analysis of structures in aerial images is proposed. First the map must be analysed in order to obtain a suitable representation of its knowledge content. A special kind of graph, a so-called image-description graph, is the result of this map analysis. The knowledge of the map, represented on different description levels, is used to control the search process during the image analysis. Based on this knowledge, expectations for attribute values of image objects are defined. Generated objects are assessed relative to the expectations of the map and the object model. A set-oriented selection method is applied to deduce the processing priority using these two assessments. Expected objects are preferably processed for building up more complex objects. Thus the map-aided analysis can be used to reduce the processing time for a verification task.

We describe NLSExplorer, an interpretable approach for nuclear localization signal (NLS) prediction. By utilizing the extracted information on nuclear-specific sites from the protein language model to assist in NLS detection, NLSExplorer achieves superior performance with greater than 10% improvement in the F1 score compared with existing methods on benchmark datasets and highlights other nuclear transport segments. We applied NLSExplorer to the nucleus-localized proteins in the Swiss-Prot database to extract valuable segments. A comprehensive analysis of these segments revealed a potential NLS landscape and uncovered features of nuclear transport segments across 416 species. This study introduces a powerful tool for exploring the NLS universe and provides a versatile network that can efficiently detect characteristic domains and motifs.

The GM-PHD framework as recursion realization of PHD filter is extensively applied to multitarget tracking system. A new idea of improving the estimation precision of time-varying multi-target in non-linear system is proposed due to the advantage of computation efficiency in this paper. First,a novel cubature Kalman probability hypothesis density filter is designed for single sensor measurement system under the Gaussian mixture framework. Second,the consistency fusion strategy for multi-sensor measurement is proposed through constructing consistency matrix. Furthermore,to take the advantage of consistency fusion strategy,fused measurement is introduced in the update step of cubature Kalman probability hypothesis density filter to replace the single-sensor measurement. Then a cubature Kalman probability hypothesis density filter based on multi-sensor consistency fusion is proposed. Capabilily of the proposed algorithm is illustrated through simulation scenario of multi-sensor multi-target tracking.

We address the problem of 3D human pose estimation in a single real scene image. Normally, 3D pose estimation from real image needs background subtraction to extract the appropriate features. We do not make such assumption, In this paper, a two-step approach is proposed, first, instead of applying background subtraction to get the segmentation of human, we combine the segmentation with human detection using an ISM-based detector. Then, silhouette feature can be extracted and 3D pose estimation is solved as a regression problem. RVMs and ridge regression method are applied to solve this problem. The results show the robustness and accuracy of our method.
