Enterprises currently face the challenge of reducing production cycles and costs and utilizing existing cases for making changes and iterations has emerged as a viable solution. However, the acquisition and modification of historical cases present their challenges. To address this, the present paper proposes an intelligent design method based on reinforcement learning that aims to meet the demand for efficient and high-quality design solutions in the field of engineering design. This method comprises four key steps: case characterization, matching, retrieval, and selection. By employing case characterization and matching, users can acquire sets of similar cases that align closely with their specific requirements. Building upon this foundation incorporates a combination of reinforcement learning and weight order cross-reconstruction to generate more proposals. Subsequently, the multi-attribute decision-making method is utilized to select the extended set of design schemes. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through its successful application to a radar design case. © 2023 IEEE.

Trusted platform module (TPM) has little computation capability, and it is the performance bottleneck of remote attestation. In the scenario where the server is the attestation-busy entity which answers attestation requirement frequently, the massive delay is inevitable. Without the modification to TPM, we propose Batch Integrity Report Protocol (BIRP) to overcome the performance bottleneck. B-IRP bundles these requirements in interval as a batch requirement, and creates the response messages for these requirements with one expensive TPM operation. Discussion shows that B-IRP has improved the performance without loss of security. © 2011 IEEE.

International students are a special group in Chinese cities, and their tourism image perception has important research significance for urban tourism construction. Based on the destination tourism image model proposed by Baloglu and McCleary, the tourism image of Nanjing is divided into three aspects: cognitive image, emotional image and overall image. Aiming at the international student group in Nanjing, the questionnaire survey was used to obtain the perception data of the group’s tourism image in Nanjing with SPSS. The empirical research on the tourism image of Nanjing was carried out from three aspects: tourism image perception factor, overall image perception and representative attractions. The study found that in the structured part of the dimension, international students are most satisfied with "urban environment" and least concerned about "attractions". Through the single factor measurement, the most satisfied one is the rich historical and cultural heritage, and the most dissatisfied one is the crowded urban environment. In the unstructured part of the international students on Nanjing tourism image, the overall satisfaction is high, in which the destination image perception of the "delicious food" is the best. In the perception of urban tourism image, the perception of "a beautiful city" is the best. The analysis of the characteristics of social population structure shows obvious individualized difference. Boys tend to Zhongshan mausoleum, and girls are more inclined to Confucius Temple Qinhuai scenery belt. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Although Social Network Services (SNSs) continuance usage has recently emerged as an important issue in information systems adaption, the research into older adults' continuance intention towards SNS is still very low, and the acceptance-discontinuance anomaly phenomenon (i.e. users discontinue using e-learning after initially accepting it) is a common occurrence. This study joins the perceived risk and perceived enjoyment to our prior research model which integrated the Expectation-Confirmation Model (ECM), the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) to hypothesise a theoretical model to explain and predict the older adults' intentions to continue using SNSs. The hypothesised model is validated empirically using a sample collected from 320 older adults who had prior experience with SNSs and was tested against the proposed research model using structure equation modelling. The results demonstrate that satisfaction has the most significant effect on older adults' continuance intention, followed by perceived usefulness, perceived risk, subject norm and perceived behavioural control. The results of these findings for SNSs practitioners are discussed at the end of this work. © Copyright 2016 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

The integration of database and information retrieval techniques provides users with a wide range of high quality services. We present a prototype system, called NUITS, for efficiently processing keyword queries on top of a relational database. Our NUITS allows users to issue simple keyword queries as well as advanced keyword queries with conditions. As the memory capacity increases and the hardware becomes cheaper, main memory databases (MMDB) have come true and been used in more and more applications, because they can provide better response time and throughputs. The advent of MMDB requires a reconsideration of data structures and algorithms of traditional DBMS. The index structure is one of the most important aspects that need be redesigned since it can affect the overall system performance heavily. Even though the T-tree index, which was proposed for main memory databases, has been widely accepted as a promising index structure. B+-tree and its variants still have their advantages in memory and are also regarded as the potential main memory database index structures. In this paper, we propose a new indexing technique called J+-tree for MMDB, inspired by the Judy structure which is an associative array data structure. Our J+-tree index not only holds the advantages of Judy (such as good single value search characteristic) but also outperforms it in many ways. For example, J +-tree can obtain better performance for range queries that are very slow in Judy structure. We compare the J+-tree index with Judy, T-tree and B+-tree on time and space aspects, and the experimental results show that J+-tree can provide better overall performance in main memory. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2007.

Consumer online shopping behaviors are well attended in the IS and marketing literature. Yet, there is another group of individuals who spend a lot of time online but do not purchase anything. This online window shopping phenomenon is intriguing to both scholars and marketers yet it is less studied and little understood. Questions such as what the online window shopping consumers do during their visits, how to differentiate their activities and how to design marketing strategies to stimulate them to buy are all essential and beg for investigation. To address this gap, we propose a typology of online window shopping consumers based on the Consumer Information Processing Model, then empirically validate and refine the typology using a set of clickstream data. The final typology contains four main types of online window shopper consumers: 1) promotion finders, 2) social & hedonic experience seekers, 3) information gatherers, and 4) learners & novices. This study extends consumer online behavior research in both e-commerce and social commerce by focusing on the specific group of consumers who only do online window shopping. Besides theoretical contributions, the findings also provide marketers and businesses with valuable references for designing targeted marketing strategies or promotional activities for online window shopping consumers.

Entity search and exploration can enrich search user interfaces by presenting relevant information instantly and offering relevant exploration pointers to users. Previous research has demonstrated that large knowledge Graphs allow exploitation and recommendation of explicit links between the entities and other information to improve information access and ranking. However, less attention has been devoted to user interfaces for effectively presenting results, recommending related entities and explaining relations between entities. We introduce a system called SEED which is designed to support entity search and exploration in large knowledge Graphs. We demonstrate SEED using a dataset of hundreds of thousands of movie related entities from the DBpedia knowledge Graph. The system utilizes a graph embedding model for ranking entities and their relations, recommending related entities, and explaining their interrelations. Copyright is held by the author/owner(s).

Developing an integration management system for business continuity, records and knowledge (IMS of BRK) is beneficial to the collaboration, optimization and innovation of business continuity management system (BCMS), records management system (RMS) and knowledge management system (KMS) for organization. Comprehensive research and development requirements along with a cogent framework, however, have not been proposed for integrating three of them, which were proposed independently. Based on situational analysis of cross boundaries integration feasibilities in terms of common understandings, general principles and best practice frameworks from relevant national and international standards, this paper proposes integration thinking to combine the advantages of the three paradigms to sustainable competitive advantages;supported by international best practices, the authors propose an integration route covering five levels of integration framework, two integration approaches and three integration controls for dynamic accumulation, sharing and exchange of evidence, memory and knowledge in digital world and global competition. © 2010 IEEE.
