Domain adaption aims to use the source domain knowledge to assist the model learning. Most of the existing methods are based on the feature representation learning model, which are achieved by aligning the data distribution between two domains. However, in the process of feature representation learning, due to the diversity of distribution differences between domains, it faces the problems of degenerated feature transformation and unevaluated distribution alignment, which bring challenges to the existing research. Therefore, the dynamic distribution alignment factors of marginal distribution and conditional distribution are introduced to reduce the spatial distortion in the process of feature representation, and the domain adaptation is realized based on the dynamic manifold regularization constraints and structural risk minimization learning. In this paper, we propose the structural risk minimization and an improved dynamic manifold regularization constraint to solve these problems. Experimental results show that compared with traditional methods and deep level methods, the algorithm in this paper has a significant improvement in classification accuracy.

The potential application of intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRSs) for future wireless cellular communication systems has motivated the study of metasurface for achieving additional space degree of freedom, where IRS is used to enhance the desired signal strength and suppress the interference. In this paper, by using the additional design degree of freedom provided by the IRS, we jointly optimize the transmit beamforming vector at the BS and the reflective beamforming vector at the IRS to maximize the minimum rate in the IRS-aided multi-user multiple-input-single-output broadcast channel (MISO-BC), subject to the unit modulus constraints of the reflective beamforming vector. In order to solve the non-convex optimization problem, we propose an efficient algorithm based on alternating optimization. In particular, we optimize the transmit beamforming vectors via the second-order cone problem (SOCP) and reflective beamforming vector by using the semi-definite relaxation (SDR). Numerical results show that the use of IRS leads to significant higher SINR values than benchmark schemes without IRS.

Intrigued by the information management replacing records management phenomenon, this study aimed at shedding light on it. Relying on preserved websites, the study examined relevant contents from 2007 to early 2022. It discovered the battle between records and information, and later on information asset. This battle incurred dazzling changes in managerial considerations, yet the challenges to management – either towards records, information, information and records, or information asset – remained the same. So were the unsatisfactory outcomes. A case seemed perfect to tell the plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose story. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence and semantic networks, knowledge graphs have received extensive attention in various application domains. As a domain knowledge graph, a genealogical knowledge graph has significant research value in the family blood, family culture, and medical genetic analysis. However, as the identical relationship often has different names and complex relationships such as divorce, remarriage, and polygamy, the reasoning based on the genealogical knowledge graph is a challenging task. In response to this problem, we propose a scheme for kinship reasoning in the genealogical knowledge graph. First, based on real genealogical revision experiences, a character ontology framework in the genealogical knowledge graph is defined, and basic kinship reasoning rules are designed. Then, given different definitions of kinship in different surnames, the solution of custom reasoning rules is integrated into the reasoning framework. In addition, aiming at complex relationships in family trees, such as multiple generations of ancestors and multiple wives, a series of inference optimization methods are proposed. Finally, we implement this scheme in the Huapu system, and the experimental results conducted on a real genealogical dataset demonstrate the effectiveness and practicality of our proposed scheme.

Joint item recommendation and attribute inference: An adaptive graph convolutional network approach

In many recommender systems, users and items are associated with attributes, and users show preferences to items. The attribute information describes users’ (items’) characteristics and has a wide range of applications, such as user profiling, item annotation, and feature-enhanced recommendation. As annotating user (item) attributes is a labor intensive task, the attribute values are often incomplete with many missing attribute values. Therefore, item recommendation and attribute inference have become two main tasks in these platforms. Researchers have long converged that user (item) attributes and the preference behavior are highly correlated. Some researchers proposed to leverage one kind of data for the remaining task, and showed to improve performance. Nevertheless, these models either neglected the incompleteness of user (item) attributes or regarded the correlation of the two tasks with simple models, leading to suboptimal performance of these two tasks. To this end, in this paper, we define these two tasks in an attributed user-item bipartite graph, and propose an Adaptive Graph Convolutional Network (AGCN) approach for joint item recommendation and attribute inference. The key idea of AGCN is to iteratively perform two parts: 1) Learning graph embedding parameters with previously learned approximated attribute values to facilitate two tasks;2) Sending the approximated updated attribute values back to the attributed graph for better graph embedding learning. Therefore, AGCN could adaptively adjust the graph embedding learning parameters by incorporating both the given attributes and the estimated attribute values, in order to provide weakly supervised information to refine the two tasks. Human pose estimation in videos has long been a compelling yet challenging task within the realm of computer vision. Nevertheless, this task remains difficult because of the complex video scenes, such as video defocus and self-occlusion. Recent methods strive to integrate multi-frame visual features generated by a backbone network for pose estimation. However, they often ignore the useful joint information encoded in the initial heatmap, which is a by-product of the backbone generation. Comparatively, methods that attempt to refine the initial heatmap fail to consider any spatio-temporal motion features. As a result, the performance of existing methods for pose estimation falls short due to the lack of ability to leverage both local joint (heatmap) information and global motion (feature) dynamics. To address this problem, we propose a novel joint-motion mutual learning framework for pose estimation, which effectively concentrates on both local joint dependency and global pixel-level motion dynamics. Specifically, we introduce a context-aware joint learner that adaptively leverages initial heatmaps and motion flow to retrieve robust local joint feature. Given that local joint feature and global motion flow are complementary, we further propose a progressive joint-motion mutual learning that synergistically exchanges information and interactively learns between joint feature and motion flow to improve the capability of the model. More importantly, to capture more diverse joint and motion cues, we theoretically analyze and propose an information orthogonality objective to avoid learning redundant information from multi-cues. Empirical experiments show our method outperforms prior arts on three challenging benchmarks. © 2024 ACM.

PromptGCN: Bridging Subgraph Gaps in Lightweight GCNs

Graph Convolutional Networks (GCNs) are widely used in graph-based applications, such as social networks and recommendation systems. Nevertheless, large-scale graphs or deep aggregation layers in full-batch GCNs consume significant GPU memory, causing out of memory (OOM) errors on mainstream GPUs (e.g., 29GB memory consumption on the Ogbn-products graph with 5 layers). The subgraph sampling methods reduce memory consumption to achieve lightweight GCNs by partitioning the graph into multiple subgraphs and sequentially training GCNs on each subgraph. However, these methods yield gaps among subgraphs, i.e., GCNs can only be trained based on subgraphs instead of global graph information, which reduces the accuracy of GCNs. In this paper, we propose PromptGCN, a novel prompt-based lightweight GCN model to bridge the gaps among subgraphs. First, the learnable prompt embeddings are designed to obtain global information. Then, the prompts are attached into each subgraph to transfer the global information among subgraphs. Extensive experimental results on seven large-scale graphs demonstrate that PromptGCN exhibits superior performance compared to baselines. Notably, PromptGCN improves the accuracy of subgraph sampling methods by up to 5.48% on the Flickr dataset. Overall, PromptGCN can be easily combined with any subgraph sampling method to obtain a lightweight GCN model with higher accuracy. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Research Purpose: The distributed, traceable and security of blockchain technology are applicable to the construction of new government information resource models, which could eliminate the barn effect and trust in government information sharing, as well as promoting the transformation of government affairs from management to service, it is also of great significance to the sharing of government information and construction of service-oriented e-government. Propose Methods: By analyzing the current problems of government information sharing, combined with literature research, this paper proposes the theoretical framework and advantages of blockchain technology applied to government information management and sharing, expounds the blockchain-based solution, it also constructs a government information sharing model based on blockchain, and gives implementation strategies at the technical and management levels. Results and Conclusion: The government information sharing model based on the blockchain solution and the transparency of government information can be used as a research framework for information interaction analysis between the government and users. It can also promote the construction and development of information sharing for Chinese government, as well as providing unified information sharing solution at the departmental and regional levels for e-government.

On September 5, 2015, the State Council of Chinese Government, China’s cabinet formally announced its Action Framework for Promoting Big data (***, 2015). This is the milestone for China to catch up the global wave of big data. Since 2012 big data became a hot issue for scientific communities as well as the governments of many countries (Lazer et al. in Science 343:1203–1205, 2014;Einav et al. in Science 345:715, 2014;Cate in Science 346:818, 2014;Khoury and Ioannidis in Science 346:1054–1055, 2014). At the 2013 G8 Summit, the leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, U.S.A. and United Kingdom agreed on an "open government plan" (***/government/publications/open-data-charter/g8-open-data-charter-and-technical-annex, 2013). China’s framework, however, mainly emphasizes the integration of all trans-departmental data and establishes a number of government-driven national big data platforms so as to provide big data services to research, public and enterprises. The framework not only demonstrates a strong commitment of the Chinese government on big data, but also covers a wide range of governmental branches, enterprises and institutions far more than that of other countries. In addition, the framework shows an interpretation of big data that differs from other countries. On charactering of information propagation in online social networks

Recent years have witnessed the explosive growth of online social networks (OSNs), which provide a perfect platform for observing the information propagation. Based on the theory of complex network analysis, considering each node in OSNs as an agent, an information propagation model called IP-OSN has been proposed in this paper, and numerical simulation experiments have been extensively conducted, which show the mechanism of information propagation in OSNs. It can be seen from the experimental results that along with the information spreading scope will be larger while time passing. Moreover, from the network structure perspective, some interesting findings are got. First, the number of initial known nodes has a certain impact on the information propagation speed;however it doesn't affect the number of final known and unknown nodes. Then, the number of neighbors has a great impact on the information propagation process and results. Finally, percentage of different user type is the decisive factor for information propagation either in final node number or propagation speed. This paper attempts to complement the theoretical framework of information propagation and complex networks, and thus to further promote the practice of information control in OSNs. © 2013 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.
