Modeling the Percentage of NEET in Indonesia with Spatial Cauchy Regression through the Bayesian Analysis Approach

Indonesia has entered a period of demographic bonus. Human resources must be optimized. The number of children who do not in employment, education or training (NEET) in each province needs attention. Several factors that could contribute to the decline in the NEET percentage are literacy rates and the number of adolescents with computer skills. Increasing these two factors is believed to be able to reduce the percentage of NEET in every province in Indonesia. To find out the relationship between these two factors and how much influence they have on the percentage of NEET, this research is modeled by Cauchy regression and includes spatial effects. The results of the analysis show that the best model is when the spatial effect is modeled by Fernandez Steel Skew Normal conditionally autoregressive (FSSN CAR). This result is seen from the smallest value of the Watanabe Akaike Information Criterion (WAIC) in this model, which is 190.5. The parameter estimated shows that the higher the literacy rate and the number of adolescents with computer skills, the lower the percentage of NEET in each province in Indonesia. The results of this research can be useful for the Indonesian government to increase the number of educational facilities related to these two factors. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). The kidney is a human organ with numerous vital functions, mainly for blood filtration. Damage to the kidneys can be detected from albumin levels in urine, higher levels of albumin in urine indicate the kidney's filtration function is impaired. The latest breakthrough in the medical field is the use of localized sensor plasma resonance (LSPR) in the field of biosensors to detect albumin protein in urine. Using Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) simulation, the lateral size of hexagonal gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) is varied to increase the optimal LSPR. AuNPs are well-known as the most promising material for plasmonic applications. In several studies, the hexagonal geometry was reported to increase the surface area of nanoparticles as well as enhance the LSPR signal. Varying the geometry of the hexagonal AuNPs will affect their sensitivity and optical properties. In this study, the lateral size of the hexagonal AuNPs varied from 10 nm to 60 nm, with a controlled thickness of 30 nm. The absorption graph blue shifts with the peak decreasing until the graph has almost no peak as the lateral size decreases. The lateral size of 40 nm at a thickness of 30 nm was found to have the highest shifting response towards the change of refractive index, indicating good sensitivity for sensors. Simulation of hexagonal AuNPs-based LSPR detection of albumin concentrations of 0.35 –5.71 mM produces a sensitivity of 2.59 nm/mM, equivalent to 245.96 nm/RIU. The competitive performance and ease of detection procedures in real applications show the potential of the hexagonal AuNPs-based LSPR sensor to be further explored in developing alternative albumin detection techniques.

Production losses of agricultural commodities on agricultural land due to product defects depend on the level of pest and disease attacks. Defects cause the product not to be harvested or rejected by the market. Data from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia in 2021 shows the percentage of defective products for this commodity is 5%. This study aims to detect defects in agricultural products using image processing and artificial neural networks. We used the screening threshold method with potato research samples from Dieng, Indonesia. The study results for spot defects showed that from 100 training data, there were five incorrect identification data, so the accuracy of the training process was 95%. At the same time, the hole defect accuracy is better, which is 97%. It shows that defects in agricultural commodities can be detected using this method. For further research, the development of agricultural product sorting can combine sorting techniques with this method. © 2022 IEEE.

The Indonesian government has considered appropriate technology (AT) as a cost-effective strategy to increase productivity, including for farmers in processing agricultural commodities. However, its acceptance and effectiveness still need to be improved so that AT can be used for the general population. The existing AT designs seem to fail in considering the characteristics and capabilities of their users. This paper proposed expanding universal design principles for AT in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). After conducted random observation and interviews with SMEs in Subang Area, this study refers to relevant literature studies from various previous studies. This study's results are new universal design principles: flexibility in use, practicability, ease of service, perceptible information, tolerance for error, low physical effort, low energy, adjustability, mobility, and modular and straightforward and intuitive use. A conceptual model proposed in this study describes the relationship among user characteristics, the concept of universal design, and the effectiveness of using appropriate technology. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In the current digital era, virtual reality (VR) technology is rapidly expanding across various fields, including education and cultural preservation. This technology offers immersive opportunities to explore and experience architectural spaces, promising increased understanding and learning motivation. Despite being relatively new in Indonesia, the application of VR has shown significant potential for education and cultural preservation through the implementation of a 3D virtual tour in Kampung Adat Pulo Garut. Therefore, this research aimed to develop VR media to enhance users' spatial experience and preserve the cultural values of Kampung Adat Pulo Garut through interactive learning. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) through the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) model. The equipment used was LiDAR Scanner FJD Trion P1 Series, DJI Mavic Air 2S Drone, and Sony A6000 Camera. The method used included aerial and terrestrial mapping, 3D modeling, and the development of virtual environments through Unreal Engine. The developmental process included various stages, namely concept, design, material collection, compilation, testing, and distribution. The result showed an interactive 3D virtual tour of Kampung Adat Pulo Garut, called “Echoes of Tradition.” Unreal Engine was found to enable detailed visualization of traditional architecture and village environments with high accuracy and interactivity. The final product offered an immersive learning experience, enriching users' experience, and enabling digital preservation of cultural heritage. The next step, to get an overview of the research results, used a questionnaire as an instrument which was distributed to a total of 250 respondents. Furthermore, the potential implication of VR in education and cultural preservation was identified, guiding similar applications in the future. Utilizing biomass waste as a potential resource for cellulose production holds promise in mitigating environmental *** current study aims to utilize pineapple biowaste extract in producing bacterial cellulose acetate-based membranes with magnetic nanoparticles(Fe_(3)O_(4)nanoparticles)through the fermentation and esterification process and explore its *** bacterial cellulose fibrillation used a high-pressure homogenization procedure,and membranes were developed incorporating 0.25,0.50,0.75,and 1.0 wt.%of Fe3O4 nanoparticles as magnetic nanoparticle for *** membrane characteristics were measured in terms of Scanning Electron Microscope,X-ray diffraction,Fourier Transform Infrared,Vibrating Sample Magnetometer,antibacterial activity,bacterial adhesion and dye adsorption *** results indicated that the surface morphology of membrane changes where the bacterial cellulose acetate surface looks *** crystallinity index of membrane increased from 54.34%to 68.33%,and the functional groups analysis revealed that multiple peak shifts indicated alterations in membrane functional ***,adding Fe_(3)O_(4)-NPs into membrane exhibits paramagnetic behavior,increases tensile strength to 73%,enhances activity against *** and ***,and is successful in removing bacteria from wastewater of the river to 67.4%and increases adsorption for anionic dyes like Congo Red and Acid Orange.

Waste generation from food manufacturing facilities poses a serious hazard like environmental degradation, water pollution, and land pollution due to its high nutrient composition. Specifically, solid waste(powder) disposal requires additional energy sources in terms of scientific treatment, structured collection, and disposal packaging according to the safety regulation. Thus, this research discusses the viewpoint of integrating food processing waste as an organic carbon source with BG-11 medium for Chlorella vulgaris(FSP-E) growth. The food processing waste powders investigated in this study were obtained from milk, and biscuit manufacturing facilities. The culture medium was modified by combining both BG-11 and food processing waste powders to identify the optimal algal growth and biochemical *** to the microalgae grown in BG-11 alone(IBG), the combination of biscuit waste and IBG produced higher biomass concentration(44%), with increased lipid(11%), protein(20%), and carbohydrate(57%) contents. Chlorella vulgaris was able to uptake nutrients from the culture medium with combination of food processing waste and IBG thus enhancing its growth. The results obtained also indicate that an integrated culture system using food processing waste and synthetic sources can generate energy out of waste by improving the bio-composition of the microalgae biomass.

Coffee is one of the plantation crops that has long been a cultivated plant in Indonesia. The classification of coffee fruit maturity manually still has several weaknesses and requires a long process, has low accuracy and is inconsistent, this is because the determination is made subjectively by coffee farmers. As for the classification of coffee fruit maturity levels automatically, it can be faster with objective determination, therefore the use of image processing is relatively easier, faster, and based on a quantified descriptive assessment to determine coffee maturity. Image Processing is a method used to process or manipulate images in 2-dimensional form. In the classification process, there are many methods used to obtain classification of objects based on training data. One of the algorithms used for the classification process is K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). KNN is a classification technique for objects based on training data that is the closest or has similar characteristics to the object. KNN includes supervised learning algorithms, where the results of the new query instance are classified based on the majority of the categories in K-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN). The finding indicated that class classification of ripe and unripe were 88,24 % and 100% respectively with 93,33% accuracy level. © 2023 IEEE.

Concerns about environment impacts of synthetics fiber composites usages have led to various researches in Natural Fiber Composites (NFCs). Since various natural fibers are available worldwide, one of the issues in its application is the evaluation of mechanical properties of the fiber. In this study, we have designed a simple low-cost tensile test apparatus for evaluation of ultimate tensile strength of single natural fiber. The simple apparatus is built using a low-cost linear stage driven by a stepper motor. A cantilever spring is employed to measure the tensile force during the tensile test. The apparatus shows a good performance when used to evaluate the maximum tensile strength of single Abacafiber. However, the apparatus still has the limitation in that it has no feature to measure the fiber’s elongation during the test. Nevertheless, the apparatus is considered useful for preliminary evaluation of the ultimate tensile strength of various single natural fiber. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

There are so many areas in Indonesia that are prone to landslides. Bogor is the regency with the most frequent landslides. Therefore, high community preparedness is needed to deal with the landslide, especially at the household level because it is the spearhead of preparedness and influence disaster risk. The objective of this research is to measure and analyze the level of household preparedness for facing landslide. The location of this research is in Cibadak Village, Bogor regency where a landslide disaster had happened. This is a quantitative research. The number of the samples were 100 household. Data collection was done by surveying samples and distributing questionnaires. The data would be analyzed with descriptive analysis, and the results of level of household preparedness would be categorized to five levels which were very prepared (80-100), prepared (65-79), almost prepared (55-64), less prepared (40-54), and not prepared (0-39). The results of the research are the average index value of Knowledge and Attitude (KA) parameter is 66.77, Emergency Planning (EP) parameter is 52.24, Warning System (WS) parameter is 64.80, Resources Mobilization Capacity (RMC) parameter is 51.25 and the level of household preparedness for facing landslide is 59.26 or and it is significant at the almost prepared level. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
