He is a registered professional engineer and is a member of ASNE SNAME and SAMPE. Franz Liemis a senior structural engineer of ASTECH. He has over 18 years of experience in structural engineering. He received M.S. degrees in civil/structural engineering from Carollo Wilhelmina University in West Germany. He is a registered professional engineer. Gregory D. Woodsis the Naval Sea Systems Command's lightweight metallic structures program manager. Until recently a naval architect in the Structural Integrity Application Division he currently works in the Amphibious Auxiliary and Support Ship Branch. He received a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Tennessee State University with additional graduate level course work at the NavSea Institute. Anthony J. Furiois the program manager for lightweight metallic structures in the Ship Structure Division of the David Taylor Research Center. He was either chairman or paper chairman for several Cruiser Destroyer and Frigate Technology Symposiums held in Biloxi Miss. He is past chairman of the Pascagoula Section of ASNE. He is currently the program chairman for the Pascagoula Section. He has forty-two years engineering experience and is a graduate of the California Institute of Technology from which he received his B.S. M.S. and Ph.D. all in mechanical engineering. Kenneth A. Mitchell Jr.:is an engineer with U.S. Marine New Orleans La. He was formerly an engineer at Decision Engineering Pascagoula Miss. and has three years of engineering experience. 作者: PHINNEY, JM The Author:is the senior application specialist for the enclosed drive group of the Philadelphia Gear Corporation where his responsibilities include conceptual design and quotation of sophisticated equipment in the marine propulsion special products industrial gear products and high speed products areas. Prior to joining Philadelphia Gear Mr. Phinney's career included positions as Engineering Supervisor at Newport News Shipbuilding Director of Product Engineering for SKF Industries Manager of Engineering for Propulsion Systems Inc and Chief of Design Engineering for High Speed and Marine Drives at the Falk Corporation. The scope of his marine experience includes management design of propulsion equipment and logistic support for military and commercial vessels ranging from fishing vessels to aircraft carriers. Mr. Phinney is a graduate of Antioch College earning his BSME in 1963. A member of ASNE since 1985 Mr. Phinney is a past member of the National Council representing the mid-Atlantic region. He is active in the Delaware Valley Section where he heads the Awards Committee and previously served as the section Chairman Vice Chairman and Program Committee head. He has also been active in other engineering societies with several papers to his credit.
