The need for collaboration across companies and across areas in the same company is a reality that systems, people and other stakeholders must deal with it. When there is sharing of information, communication among entities, interaction and integration, progress occurs and, all these components working together can improve enterprise performance. As the need of these 'inter operations' is real, the interoperability is becoming a key factor for companies facing with collaborative-cooperative environments. Enterprise Interoperability Assessment (EIA) provides a company the opportunity to know their strengths, weaknesses and prioritize actions to improve its performance and maturity. This paper presents concepts regarding Enterprise Interoperability focusing in EIA, including some existing models and establishing relationship with CMMI, a reference adopted worldwide, in order to identify common perspectives.

This work's goal is to recognize variable patterns in a process that will serve as basis for the creation of a mathematic model capable of predicting the results for caustic contents in the reject from the alumina production process, denominated Red Mud, making it possible to simulate the best combination among entry variables. By that, the reuse of red mud in civil construction industry is intended, minimizing environmental impacts generated by the excess of red mud discarded in the environment by the mentioned process. This work will perform tests with a historical registers database of entry and exit variables for the process's stage that makes this washing. For the creation of the model, the data will be submitted to an Artificial Neural Network for the training of such patterns that should generate predictions with a low error percentage when compared to the simulated data obtained in laboratories.

A way to deal with the variations in the link quality of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is the use of strategies for Dynamic Channel Allocation (DCA). The first step to perform DCA is estimating the channel quality, so that the network nodes can decide if a channel change is needed, and the best channel to be used. This paper proposes a distributed approach with nodes dedicated to monitor channel quality, by using the Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) and the Link Quality Indicator (LQI) to identify low quality channels. This approach is acceptable in industrial WSN, since the network deployment can be performed with adequate planning. Furthermore, the sensor nodes do not need to stop their operation for monitoring the channel quality. As a first step, experiments were performed in a real industrial environment to identify the relation between RSSI and LQI traces, and the Packet Error Rate for different channels, by using IEEE 802.15.4 radios operating in the 2.4 GHz band.

The main purpose of this research study is to present a framework for the implementation of SPC in Service Quality Measurement of Thai Private Higher Education. The framework used is adapted from the SPC framework used in service process. The internal quality assurance criteria was announced by the Office of Higher Education Commission (OHEC) as discussed, followed by a brief illustration of university service system that these criteria foster. One year of an implementation of SPC in Service Quality Measurement of Thai Private Higher Education program of three Private Universities are used to illustrate the framework. The finding was that those universities who adopted the framework had higher post service quality measurement scores than the previous *** framework provides university management with important insights into monitoring and continuous improving service quality. Any university desiring to develop a program for systematically implementing SPC in Service Quality Measurement easily cans adapt the framework.

In this paper a complete framework is proposed, to deal with trajectory tracking and positioning with an *** Parrot quadrotor flying in indoor environments. The system runs in a centralized way, in a computer installed in a ground station, and is based on two main structures, namely a Kalman Filter (KF) to track the 3D position of the vehicle and a nonlinear controller to guide it in the accomplishment of its flight missions. The KF is designed aiming at estimating the states of the vehicle, fusing inertial and visual data. The nonlinear controller is designed with basis on a dynamic model of the ***, with the closed-loop stability proven using the theory of Lyapunov. Finally, experimental results are presented, which demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework.

There is a worldwide concern with sustainable development and this has compelled organizations to modify their management systems and operations design in order to fit to this new environment. To have a sustainable business and operations means to be economically viable, to reduce or even not generate waste, to conserve energy and natural resources, to be safe to workers, communities and consumers, to improve quality of life, and to share value. It is noticed that Brazilian printing companies understand these demands and they are promoting changes in their strategy, business models and operations systems. The main goal of this research is to propose a conceptual framework for organizing sustainability practices in printing industry companies' operations. It is intended to answer the following research question, based on manufacturing operations analysis: Does the printing industry runs its operations in a sustainable way? Observing standards practices for economic, environmental and social sustainable aspects. It was conducted a literature review and also it was recovered secondary data from governmental institutes and agencies as well from printing companies associations. These elements helped in characterizing the context, structures and processes for designing, implementing and managing printing enterprise sustainable operations. The proposed framework intends to contain best practices for developing a sustainable operation and to be used for auditing and normative purposes. This will allow companies to adapt their operations models and systems in order to create a real sustainable enterprise.
