Food security should be supported in an effort to utilize local products into import substitution products. Cassava starch has the potential to be developed into semi-finished products in the form of flour or starch which does not contain gluten but can inflate large baking process, potentially as a substitute for wheat flour-the main ingredient for making bread. The characteristic of the starch is influenced by the type of starch composition and structure. Natural starch has physicochemical properties i.e. a long time cooking and pasta formed hard. These constraints allow us to modify cassava starch by a combination of lactic acid hydrolysis and drying with rotary UV system. Modified cassava starch is expected to be used as a substitute for wheat flour. The aim of the research which is a combination of lactic acid hydrolysis and drying using a rotary UV system is to examine the optimum operating conditions in the drying process of starch hydrolysis with parameter the physicochemical and rheological properties of modified cassava starch. The initial process study is to hydrolyze cassava starch using lactic acid. Furthermore, hydrolyzed cassava starch is then dried using UV light in the rotary dryers system. There are a variety of changing variables, i.e. time of irradiation cassava starch-lactic acid hydrolysis products in the rotary UV light and air drying temperature. The research results show that modified starch has a better characteristic than the natural starch. From the analysis, the best point of swelling power, solubility and baking expansion is consequently 15.62 g/g;24.19 %;2.21 ml/gr. The FTIR result shows that there is no significant difference of the chemical structure because the starch modification only change the physical characteristics. From the SEM analysis, we can know that the size of the starch's granule changes between the natural starch and the modified starch.. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2018.

Food needs in Indonesia is increasing, including beef. Today, Indonesia has problem to do self-sufficiency in beef. The cause of the problem is the quality of local beef is still lower compared with imported beef due to the quality of livestock feed consumed. To increase the quality of livestock is through pretreatment and fermentation. Source of livestock feed that processed is solid sago waste (Arenga microcarpa), because in Indonesia that is relatively abundant and not used optimally. Chemical pretreatment process for delignification is by using NaOH solution. The purposes of this research are to study NaOH pretreatment, the addition of Trichoderma sp, and fermentation time to improve the quality of sago solid waste as livestock feed through anaerobic fermentation. The variables used are addition or without addition (4%w NaOH solution and Trichoderma sp 1%w) and fermentation time (7, 14 and 21 days), with the response of crude fiber and protein. The result of this research shows that the pretreatment with soaking of NaOH solution, addition of Trichoderma sp and 14 days of fermentation was more effective to improve the quality of solid sago waste with decrease of crude fiber from 33.37% to 17.36% and increase of crude protein from 4.00% to 7.96%. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2018.

Changes in electroencephalography complexity of acute Ischemic stroke: A fuzzy approximate entropy analysis

Stroke is one of the leading causes of death in the world. The previous study had shown that EEG (Electroencephalogram) was a promising tool to detect stroke since it is non-invasive and cheap. So, the EEG analysis method needs to be more explored to give an accurate prognosis assessment. Previously, complexity analysis, such as Fuzzy Approximate Entropy (fApEn), had been successfully differentiated between control and patients with Alzheimer's Disease. Thus, this study used fApEn to analyse the changes of electroencephalography complexity in Acute Ischemic Stroke (AIS) during hyperventilation and photic stimulation, which are a general protocol to investigate the abnormality in EEG. Photic stimulation conducted using white light that flashed with frequency 5Hz, 10Hz, and 15Hz consecutively for three minutes and then continued by hyperventilation for three minutes, approximately. This study compared the fApEn value from healthy subjects with AIS patients. The result showed that patient with AIS tended to conduct the lower and higher fApEn value compared to the healthy subject. The lower value of fApEn occurred because of the presence of the slow-waves on the EEG, while the higher fApEn indicated the epileptiform activity during the recording. The increment of the slow-waves and the presence of epileptiform activity could be considered as the characteristic of stroke even though its appearance is uncertain. However, complexity analysis of EEG could be useful in differentiating the healthy subject and patient with stroke or classifying the severity level of the stroke to improve stroke management.

Wastewater produced by batik industry in Cibelok Village, Pemalang that is disposed straight into the sewage will increase the concentration of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), ammonia (NH3), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), chromium (Cr), lead (Pb), watercolour, acidity (pH), and dissolved oxygen (DO). Disposed batik wastewater without treatment will contaminate the environment, mainly its water and soil. The main purpose of this research is to reduce the concentration of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), ammonia (NH3), chromium (Cr), lead (Pb), watercolour, acidity, and dissolved oxygen (DO) by treating batik Cibelok's waste and not contaminate the surrounding environment. Laboratory test results on batik waste in COD, BOD, DO, ammonia, chromium, lead, colour, and acidity (pH). These results are not in accordance with the 2014 Waste Water Quality Standard Number 5 by the Regulation of the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia. Alternatives that have been done to treat Cibelok Village's batik waste is to lower dangerous substances concentration through electrocoagulation and filtration. The processes could lower COD level around 57.6%, ammonia 98%, chromium 85%, and BOD 67%. Reducing the concentration of the substance makes the batik waste safer and environmentally friendly when it's finally disposed to the sewage.

Breast cancer is the leading type of malignant tumor which is observed in women. The effective treatment depends on its early diagnosis. The gold standard of breast cancer is histopathologic examination of cancer cells. The determination of the grading in breast cancer is determined by three factors: pleomorphic, tubular formation and cell mitosis. This paper uses pleumorfic and tubular formation pattern from breast cell histopathology images. The proposed system consists of four major steps : preprocessing, segmentation, feature extraction and classification. We use k - means clustering method for image segmentation and use Gray level Cooccurence Matrix (GLCM) for feature extraction with four features (i.e. angular second moment, contrast feature, entropy feature, and variance feature). The final step is grading classification which uses Backpropagation Neural Network. Some of important parameters will be variated in this process such as learning rate and the number of node in hidden layer. The research gives good result for the identification of breast cancer grading with 88% accuracy, 85% sensitivity, and 80% specificity. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The scoreboard is designed and made for a universal use that can be used in matches in some sports such as basketball, futsal, ping pong, badminton, and others. The scoreboard is designed and made based on the needs of several sports in the Student Activity Unit at HKBP Nommensen University which can be easily moved. Scores displayed on the scoreboard is not only the result of the game but also displayed time in the countdown. This scoreboard can be operated by using a cable and can also without using a cable by using a mobile phone through communication using bluetooth. This scoreboard is based on a microcontroller and uses backup power through rechargeable batteries that can be automatically charged. In trials in several games, this tool works well with a few drawbacks in case of a match that takes more than 100 minutes because the time display can only display a maximum time of 99 minutes. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The right of geothermal field concession in Indonesia is obtained by tender as per Law No. 21/2014 Article 18. In the submitted proposal, the developer candidates shall mention the plan of field development strategy, while available data is limited due to a preliminary survey or preliminary survey and exploration were just performed. Then the developer candidates must be able to formulate the financial condition of the project so that the field utilization not only sustains but also produces appropriate profits. This paper discussed some regulations which are related to the economics of geothermal development project in Indonesia and a simple example of financial modelling with a probabilistic approach using Microsoft Excel Monte Carlo simulation and analysis tool. The input data were some technical assumptions such as installed capacity, steam fraction, steam specific consumption (SSC), well’s capacity, well’s success ratio, and financial assumptions such as well’s price, power plant construction’s cost, operation and maintenance cost, and others. The output of modelling were NPV (Net Present Value), IRR (Internal Rate of Return) and parameters that were sensitive to both values, whether financially or technically. The result of simulation showed from the financial aspect, wells and power plant cost were the most sensitive parameters in IRR calculation, while well’s capacity and steam fraction were the most sensitive parameters from the technical aspect.

The disaster resolving on tourism settlements in small islands

The increasing number of tourists visiting small islands has directly affected the development of low-income settlements spontaneously to support the tourists' accommodation, but the development itself has, at the same time, ignored the humanistic environment. Several of cities in Indonesia belong to the high-risk index of disasters, including Samalona Island of Makassar City. Therefore, the planning components to resolving disasters on tourism settlements in small islands are needed as follows: 1) identifying the role of elements in the natural mitigation and in the artificially structural mitigation that is available, and the role of local residents to overcome disasters in the coastline of small islands, 2) analyzing the condition of abrasion disasters like storms, gale, and flood tides towards the houses, gazebos, and stalls in small islands. In order to achieve the purpose, the collected data come from the observations, sketches, and direct interviews with the local people owning the houses, gazebos, or stalls. The analysis with sustainable approaches is to reach the development of small island destinations that are safe, comfortable, environmentally friendly, and able to increase the incomes of the local residents. The results of the research describe several mitigation elements in small islands such as the local vegetation with tree trunk diameter is 1.5-2.0m and the branching system covers 80% of the island area. The coastal areas have no more natural mitigation elements to block gales, wave pressures, and tides. However, the roles of society can be seen in the existence of structural mitigation elements such as locally wooden breakest water conventionally made. The condition of abrasion disasters and gales can be found by the changes of beach sand shape not parallel with the seasons, the site of houses, gazebos, and stalls that are always moved in safe locations temporarily. The purpose of this study is to find the influence factors of blockchain technology adoption of payments system in Indonesia banking industry. Moreover, the researchers proposed new model of payment system by using blockchain technology in Indonesia banking industry. All this time, the researchers of blockchain in payment systems were done in major countries such as UK, USA, Australia, Scotland, Germany, Japan, France, Italy, and China. Systematic Literature Review (SLR) used as a method in this study and there were five databases that taken as references, such as IEEE, Science direct, AIS electronic, ACM and Google Scholar. The researchers were found 26 references Studies Included in Quantitative Synthesis and 9 variables (Easy to use, Usefulness, Transaction fees, Risk perception, Behaviour intention of use, Attitude toward, Cognitive style, Subjective Norm, Effectiveness). Based on the result of data analysis and discussion, there were two conclusions in this study, the first, the researchers found nine factors that expected tobe used as a reference if Indonesia banking industry wants to adopt blockchain technology for payment system;and second, the researchers had to propose payment system model by using blockchain technology in Indonesia banking industry. © 2018 IEEE.

The effect of sea water soak on asphalt porous characteristics with and without waste of rubber tire waste as an asphalt addictive

The use of rubber tire scraded in the developement of porous asphalt technology as a part of flexible pavement aims to minimize the adverse effects of transportation facilities. The use of rubber tire scraded as an asphalt modifier in the pavement can provide several benefits, including reducing reflective cracking on overlays, reducing maintenance cost, increaseing resistance to new pavement cracking and rutting, increasing skid resistance an pavement age. This paper presents laboratory investigation on the effect of seawater immersion on porous asphalt performance using rubber tire scraded. Method use in laboratory investigation is based on AAPA 2004 and Bina Marga 2010. The results showed the permeability all types of mixture indicator 'moderate drainage'. The results of testing the Marshall characteristics showed a decrease in the value of stability, flow, and MQ in the porous asphalt mixture with Pen 60/70 asphalt and rubber asphalt as the duration of sea water immersion increased. The porous asphalt mixture using Pen 60/70 asphalt and rubber asphalt has Index of Retained Strength values which tend to decrease with increasing sea water immersion duration. Indirect Tensile Stength test results due to seawater submersion indicate a decrease in ITS value in porous asphalt mixtures with Pen 60/70 asphalt and rubber asphalt. The Cantabro test results showed an increase along with the increasing duration of seawater immersion.
