Solid State Fermentation of Rice Straw Pulp with a Local Trichoderma reesei for Single Cell Protein Production: Effects of Temperature, Initial Medium pH and Fermentation Time

Indonesia is one among countries that produce abundant of rice straw every year generated as post-harvesting residue from paddy field all over country. This abundant amount residue is highly potential to be utilized as carbon source in producing single cell protein (SCP) in solid state fermentation system. SCP is a microbial protein that can be used as alternative protein for substitution of available conventional protein sources such as; fish meal, soy bean, and corn Stover for animal feed production. This research was conducted to evaluating the effects of initial medium pH of substrate (mixed rice straw pulp-urea), fermentation time and fermentation temperature on SCP production by Trichoderma reesei in solid state fermentation (SSF). The results showed that the highest SCP yield (19.71%) was produced at the initial medium pH of 5 and temperature of 30 °C at SSF conditions of C/N ratio 20:1 for 12 days of fermentation time.

Raspberry Pi is a mini-computer that is provided to carry out activities quickly and precisely, but Raspberry Pi was created to not be able to do the real-time system with the support of Windows 10 IoT operating system, so the real-time system can be done on Raspberry Pi. The real-time applied in the application needs to be tested with the Nyquist theory. The purpose of this study was to get real-time system measurements available on Windows 10 IoT. This test is done using the Nyquist theory by calculating the results of measurements on mp3 streaming performed on Windows 10 IoT.

Along with the increasing of infrastructure development in Indonesia especially in jepara, so the necessary of material also increase, for example: sand. Nowadays, muntilan is the sand that often be used in making infrastructure in the government because it is considered that it has the good quality, whereas in the other hand the river sand is also abundant, but the government perverted mintilan sand as the development material. River sand is usually used by the middle to lower county because the house because the price is cheaper than muntilan sand. After doing this research we hope that: can know the quality of the river sand if it is used in infeastructure, knowing the river sand in jepara that have the good quality, such as: keling sand, bangsri sand, The stages of this research are: preparation, sand inspection (mud content and organic faces, filter analysis, moister content and weight, and specific gravity), making spacimens based on SKSNI 03-6825-2002 ASTM C 305, making compressive strength test. The test result show that at 3,7,14,21,28 days old show that keling sand (93,2 kg/cm2), bangsri sand (135,2 kg/cm2). The use of river sand as the construction material by the government and community will have consequence on the balance kf muntilan sand and river sand. The specific treatment on the river sand will that quality that is almost same as muntilan sand.

Slope Stability Analysis for Landslides Natural Disaster Mitigation by Means of Geoelectrical Resistivity Data in Gedangan of South Malang, East Java, Indonesia

A study entitled slope stability analysis for landslides natural disaster mitigation by means of geoelectrical resistivity data in Gedangan of South Malang, East Java, Indonesia has been conducted. This study aims to obtain the physical parameters that cause landslides that occur in Gedangan village, Gedangan sub-district, Malang district. The research was conducted using geoelectrical resistivity method by applying a vertical electrical sounding (VES) model and Wenner-Schlumberger configuration. From the data as a result of field data acquisition, processing and interpretation are carried out to obtain landslide parameters. By merging each vertical electrical sounding (VES) point, physical parameters will be obtained as the basis for local landslide analysis. The results of the cross-sectional line A (GED4-GED1-GED2) indicate the presence of an average slope surface or topography that is relatively parallel with the average slope sliding plane which is about 7° whereas line B (GED1-GED3-GED5) is around 15°. The average thickness of the overlying layer in the slip plane both on line A and line B is around 65m. The slope condition of the slip plane (angle and thickness of the layer) indicates an unstable condition. For stable conditions F> = 1.2, the maximum thickness of the cover layer at line A is 54 m while in line B is 8.2 m. For stable conditions F> = 1.5, the maximum thickness of the cover layer for line A is 25.5 m while in line B is 5.85 m. To overcome the landslide, the proposed solution was by doing a reduction/dredging of the cover layer or installation of the bored piles.

This study investigates the grain size characteristics and sediment types of the Aceh's coastal deposits that are primarily based on the sieve analysis. This study is mainly driven by two reasons. Firstly, this study is a preliminary effort to identify coastal sediment in the Aceh coastal areas. Secondly, this information is important to interpret the support mechanism of sediment during transportation and depositional processes. In this study, many sediment deposits from both the east and west coasts of Aceh were collected. Laboratory sieve analysis was carried out to these samples. Then, further analysis of this sieve analysis results is carried out. The analysis reveals the past transport mechanism of this study sand deposits which is river's channel. However, such finding should be investigated further as all the tested sand were taken at the top surface and big main rivers are not indicated at both sand locations.

Identifying cues to contagious disease is critical for effectively tracking and defending against interpersonal infection threats. People hold lay beliefs about the types of sensory information most relevant for identifying whether others are sick with transmissible illnesses. Are these beliefs universal, or do they vary along cultural and ecological dimensions? Participants in 58 countries (N = 19,217) judged how effective, and how likely they were to use, cues involving each of the five major sensory modalities in an imagined social interaction during a flu outbreak. Belief patterns were strongly consistent across countries (sight > audition > touch > smell > taste), suggesting a largely universal conceptualization of the role of sensory information for interpersonal respiratory disease detection. Results also support a safe senses hypothesis, with perceivers reporting that they would use senses that function at a distance—and thus reduce pathogen transmission risk—more than would be expected given participants’ beliefs as to the efficacy of these senses for disease detection. Where societal variation did emerge, it was captured by a cohesive set of socio-ecological factors, including human development, latitude, pathogen prevalence, and population density. Together, these findings reveal a shared lens through which contagious respiratory disease is assessed, one that prioritizes minimizing risk to perceivers, and may offer leverage for designing interventions to improve public health. © 2025 Elsevier Inc.

Bisindo information system as potential daily sign language learning

Bisindo or Bahasa Isyarat Indonesia is one of sign language methods in Indonesia, besides SIBI or Sistem Isyarat Bahasa Indonesia. Generally, Bisindo is used by deaf people in their daily communication. Deaf people tend to have barriers to communicate with others. Yet, in the educational realm, some of them still have high spirit to continue their education until university. So, they must improve their abilities or competences in communicating with others and try to get information from around the world, for example using sophisticated technology with sign language. Information system of sign language learning is important to help deaf and heard people who want to understand the deaf conversation meaning. Bisindo information system is in website form that is built by PHP, MySQL, and sublime text 3. Based on the black box method, the Bisindo information system can run well. The results of the trial to the user describe that the maximum percentage for each level of testing is above 50% except for testing of conformity with the needs of deaf only at maximum of 42%. The Bisindo information system still has weakness, but it already gives benefits especially for deaf people in Indonesia.

Creating a new technology in the modern era gives a positive impact on business and industry. Internet of Things (IoT) as a new communication technology is very useful in realizing smart systems such as: smart home, smart office, smart parking and smart city. This study presents a prototype of the smart office system which was designed as a security system based on IoT. Smart office system development method used waterfall model. IoT-based smart office system used platform (project builder) cayenne so that. The data can be accessed and controlled through internet network from long distance. Smart office system used arduino mega 2560 microcontroller as a controller component. In this study, Smart office system is able to detect threats of dangerous objects made from metals, earthquakes, fires, intruders or theft and perform security monitoring outside the building by using raspberry pi cameras on autonomous robots in real time to the security guard.

Fuel motor is a machine that converts chemical energy into mechanical energy. In the design of this approach, we look for a gas converter model in accordance with its capacity according to the volume of the cylinder used, where the thing that needs to be considered is the performance of the gas converter itself, namely from the art form/model, fuel efficiency and large pressure settings. gas supply that enters the combustion chamber. The GX270 general motor is a fuel motor engine used as a test tool. The design was carried out at the STT Muhamadyah Cielungsi mechanical engineering energy conversion laboratory. To understand the variables that affect performance, in making this converter, things that need to be considered are variations in rotation and variations in load. From the design of the gas converter, the results of the design calculation are as follows: T torque = 19.12 (Nm), effective power Ne = 5.003066667 (kW), average effective pressure Pe = 889.4340741 (kPa), total usage hourly fuel mf = 0.0675 (kG / hour), specific fuel consumption Be = 0.013491725 (kg / kN.m), fuel ratio with air F / A = 0.13781, ideal air mass flow rate mv = 0,0,001138242 (m3 / s), volumetric efficiency 843,30666 (%) and thermal efficiency 15,78 (%), the greater the engine rotation used, the more fuel level will be consumed, as well with effective engine power.

Preliminary Gravity study of Pre-Tertiary and Tertiary Rock in Northern Kebumen, Central Java, Indonesia

Luk Ulo Melange Complex is a Pre-Tertiary rock formation consisting of various lithological background and complicated geological structure. Located in Northern Kebumen Regency, this rock is originally interpreted as products of tectonic process caused by paleo-subduction between Indian Oceanic Plate beneath Eurasian Plate in Cretaceous age. According to previous study on geological surface investigation shows that the melange complex is tectonically overlain by Tertiary sedimentary formation. On the contrary, geophysical study of the subsurface condition of the area is still under discussion due to limited of measured data. In order to obtain detailed subsurface image, gravity profiling was measured and interpreted across both Tertiary and pre-Tertiary rock. Frequency domain filter and designed moving average filter were used to separate residual and regional anomaly. The results denote gravity value of residual anomaly varying from -5 to +5 mGal, while regional anomaly is ranging from 150-180 mGal respectively. The preliminary interpretation was developed by taking into account the geological information and also the data that was collected during field campaign. Overall, high gravity anomaly is interpreted as diabase intrusion in the middle of research area. Meanwhile, low gravity anomaly indicated clay rich rock material related to matrix content of Luk-Ulo Melange Complex in the northern area.
