The synthesis of graphitic carbon nanostructures from cellulose extraction of durian peel waste has been successfully carried out in this study. This study aim to produce the graphitic carbon nanostructures to give innovative solutions to the renewable energy storage challenge. Durian peel cellulose was synthesized into graphitic carbon nanostructures through catalytic graphitization method. 4.8 grams of durian peel cellulose was hydrocharred at 200°C for 4 hours, then impregnated using Fe(NO3).9H2O and ethanol for 90 minutes. The sample was then precipitated for 12 hours and dried at 60°C. The sample was pyrolysed at 900°C for 3 hours. Characterization was carried out using TEM and XRD. Characterization TEM showed the morphological characteristics of graphitic carbon nanostructures in the form of coils in uneven amounts with the avarage diameter size is 24.9134 nm. In addition, the XRD characterization results also strengthen the characteristic phase of graphitic carbon nanostructures at 2θ 26.5° and 44.7°, although nanoparticles from Fe catalysis are visible in the sample due to the absence of reflux. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

ChatGPT has generated significant interest and discussion within the academic community since its initial introduction. This study aims to investigate the students’ intentions to use ChatGPT for educational purposes in higher education. A proposed conceptual model based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology model-2 (UTAUT2) was employed in this current study. A total of 575 data obtained from a questionnaire survey of higher education students were analyzed using partial least square-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results of the hypothesis testing revealed that both cognitive attitude and emotional attitude have a significant influence on the intention to use ChatGPT. The cognitive attitude was influenced by performance expectancy and effort expectancy. Affective attitudes were shaped by factors such as novelty value, performance expectancy, hedonic motivation, and effort expectancy.

Impact of preparedness on safety behavior in dealing with emergencies on container ships: an analysis of the role of safety knowledge, motivation, and awareness

The loading and unloading activities of container ships at the Tanjung Perak Port is imperative, as they can be carried out quickly and efficiently. These ships tend to have a high frequency of visits and possess the largest gross tonnage among ships used for the transportation of goods. The occurrence of an accident involving a container ship can have a detrimental effect on the seamless delivery of goods via sea transportation. Furthermore, the crew be adequately prepared in order to mitigate the risk. As evidenced by research on safety behaviour have not taken preparedness as a factor into consideration when addressing emergencies. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the impact of safety knowledge, motivation, and awareness on safety behaviour in dealing with emergencies on container ships in accordance with relevant regulations. A total of 180 ship crew members served as respondents and it analysed using SEM-PLS. The results showed that preparedness, including safety procedures, emergency training, and crew security culture is an important aspect in dealing with emergencies. Furthermore, this study obtained an R square value of 0.525 in the structural model, indicating that the independent variables have an influence on behaviour, and it was classified in the good category. © 2023 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

This research is motivated by the development of education in the 21st-century, which demands students to master the 4C skills (creative thinking, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication), particularly in the field of physics. The nature of physics learning requires active and interactive teaching methods that can be implemented through project-based activities for students. One effective instructional media is the student worksheet designed based on STEM-PjBL (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics project-based learning) principles. This research aims to assess the suitability of STEM-PjBL student worksheets as a learning media, which can serve as a recommendation to assist teachers in teaching renewable energy topics. This study uses the ADDIE model to adopt the Research and Development (R&D) method. This research results in a STEM-PjBL student worksheet as a physics learning media to understand renewable energy topics. The STEM-PjBL student worksheet is expected to assist students in mastering 21st-century skills effectively. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The challenge of distributing climacteric fruit is quality assurance due to the long-distance and perishability nature of the fruit. While monitoring transportation conditions is common, little research has developed a prediction model of fruit quality affected by transportation conditions. The presented study designs a quality monitoring system for mango's long-distance supply chain by integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning. The system modeling utilizes Business Process Model and Notation and a Use Case Diagram based on requirement analysis. The design of IoT architecture addresses the needs of the supply chain actors to monitor the transportation process and predict the final quality of mango upon arrival. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) predicts mango grade classification upon arrival. The dataset consists of initial (harvest) maturity level and transportation conditions as predictor variables and mango final grade as the target variable. The accuracy of the prediction model reaches more than 95%. The verification and validation of the system with traceability technique on the user's requirements confirm the fulfillment of each requirement's input, tasks, and output. This conceptual design presents IoT and machine learning as promising solutions to quality assurance problems in the global fresh produce supply chain. © 2022 IEEE.

Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) are bioelectrochemical instruments that exploit living microbes as biocatalysts for the conversion of chemical energy stored in the bonds of substrates into electrical energy. Monitoring of current or voltage generation in microbial fuel cells at rigid time intervals is noteworthy. Unfortunately, bioelectrochemical studies are often constrained due to the need for expensive and precise devices for electrochemical measurements. Utilization of low-cost microcontroller as monitoring system can be a considerable solution, compared with data logger that is a high-cost device, or compared with commercial multimeter that have to be used manually in collecting data. In this present work, microbial fuel cells electricity generation was successfully online monitored and the voltage data was also successfully collected using an ESP32 based-data logger. Statistically, there was no significant difference between ESP32 and multimeter in voltage reading, and the average of absolute and relative error values were 0.85 mV and 2.72%, respectively. It suggested that ESP32 could be a possible and low-cost monitoring system for microbial fuel cells bioelectricity generation. Additionally, ADS1115 (an external analogue to digital converter interface to ESP32) has up to four analogue channels, whereas multimeter has just one. In this research, microbial fuel cell powered by isolate KCf1 generated highest voltage value of 789 mV and power density of 541 mW m⁻². © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Iranian Society of Environmentalists (IRSEN) and Science and Research Branch, Islamic Azad University 2023.

Artificial intelligence was recently implemented in various fields. One of these applied artificial intelligence systems was the Performance Monitoring System “SiMoniK” for MSMEs. This system was designed through the C4.5 algorithm and the Porat-Rank method. The C4.5 algorithm was applied to classify the MSMEs into three classifications, e.g. the micro enterprise classification, the small enterprise classification, and the medium enterprise classification. Moreover, the Porat-Rank method was also applied to distribute the solving-problem recommendations and to improve the independence of MSMEs. The result of this study was that the C4.5 algorithm could classify the MSME data correctly in the form of an accuracy value of 99.2%. Besides, the Porat-Rank method could also provide recommendations in the form of outstanding quality with an NDCG mean value of 0.87.

The Semarang City Government has issued a Mayor Regulation on Green Buildings since 2019. Since then the construction of buildings with a certain floor area in Semarang City must follow this regulation. Evaluating implementation constraints related to green building construction based on the experience of the development actors, is an important thing to do. This study aims to identify obstacles in realizing green buildings in the city of Semarang. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire survey of respondents from development actors involved in green buildings such as contractors, consultants and project owners and bureaucratic officials related to green building licensing. Data analysis was performed using descriptive analysis to reach agreement between respondents. Next, a hierarchy of these constraints will be sought. Constraints found in realizing green buildings are: lack of socialization from the city government, alternative materials, lack of best practices, experts, and financing. For this reason, a strategy is needed to overcome these obstacles from every aspect or based on a combined consideration of all aspects. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The impact of bottom water light exposure on electrical and sediment remediation performance of sediment microbial fuel cells

Sediment microbial fuel cells (SMFCs) generate bioelectricity from benthic sediments and thus providing both bioelectricity generation and sediment remediation. However, the high internal resistance of the cathode leads to a low power output, which requires research on cathode treatment. In this study, we explored the influence of light irradiation on bioelectricity production and nutrient removal in the SMFC system. The microcosm experiment of the SMFC system was designed with artificial illumination of 500 lux (light-SMFC) and compared with dark conditions of 15 lux (dark-SMFC), which showed that the current increases during photoperiods. The study reveals that light-illuminated SMFC consistently produced the highest voltage, with the highest voltage (553 mV) being 1.3 times higher than the dark-SMFC (440 mV). The polarization curves show a significant reduction in internal cathodic resistance under light condition, resulting in increased voltage generation. The light-SMFC exhibits the highest maximum power density of 35.93 mW/m2, surpassing the dark SMFC of 31.13 mW/m2. It was found that light illumination in the SMFC system increases oxygen availability in the cathodic region, which supports the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) process. At the same time, the high bioelectricity output contributes to the highest sediment remediation by greatly reducing the chemical oxygen demand (COD) and phosphate (PO4–P) concentrations. The study highlights the potential of light illumination in mitigating cathodic limitation to improve SMFC performance and nutrient removal. © 2024

The number of Islamic boarding school teaching both Information Technology (IT) Education and Religious Education is still limited. Vocational High School of Information Technology Annajiyah located in Tambakberas, Jombang, East Java is a school having both subjects taught. The existence of Vocational High School of Information Technology Annajiyah has not been widely known by outside and inside society of Jombang Regency. Therefore, Therefore, analysis of the use of SEO is necessary to determine the potential of website visit and school promotion. Previously, Vocational High School of Information Technology Annajiyah promoted school by using brochures only. This method was considered able to introduce the school through traditional way. Analysis result of improving SEO can be seen in Google Analytic recorded a number of site visits amounted 403 in June, where 82.2% of active users are dominated by mobile phone users and fluctuation of the number of visits. This increase is affected by both the implementation of SEO and online PPDB process during the COVID pandemic. © 2021 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
