The sources of aroma can be varied according to the food's type and it is part of the ingredients that has an important role to increase people interest in certain foods. However, the most popular source of aroma is rum which is not halal for Muslim community. In this research, the researcher wanted to see the effect of adding essential oil from nutmeg seeds to the addition of the aroma of cookies made from durian seed flour to see the acceptance of customers of the product innovation using nutmeg essential oil to increase the aroma of cookies or food products that usually using rum or non-halal products and seeing the long-term impact that could possibly create sustainability advantages by occupying the waste of durian seed in to flour to substitute wheat flour. This study uses an organoleptic test. The science that uses the human senses to measure the texture, appearance, aroma, and taste of a food product is called sensory or organoleptic evaluation. Assessment of appearance, taste, and texture describes consumer acceptance of a product. The results show that consumers acceptance for this product innovation well so that the control prescription that can be given for this product innovation can be continued. The second experiment got the highest response compared to the first and third experiments.

Information of expanded-diameter of stent provided by manufacturer is important for cardiologists and required during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedure. The expanded diameter of the stent is experimentally obtained by inflating a balloon catheter at a certain pressure, from normal to burst pressures. For stent manufacturer view in which stent mass production was taken place, testing of huge number of stent by experiment would be costly and it would be less expensive by simulation. The aims of the present work therefore would investigate the correlation of inflated pressures to expanded diameters which would be done by simulation or numerical and experiment. Numerical work has been performed by software ABAQUS and experiment has been done by using hydraulic inflated device. Stent model was open cell type made of stainless steel 316. The inflated pressures of 0.8, 1.2 and 1.6 MPa were applied to both numerical and experiment works. Results on numerical and experimental show that expanded diameter increases proportionally to the increase of inflated pressures. However, at the inflated pressure of 0.8 MPa, there was significant gap between the outer diameter obtained by numerical and experiment. Numerical result depicted over estimate to that of experiment. The inflated pressure window for having inflated diameter of 4mm to 4.5mm was 0.8 to 1.1 MPa. Although, numerically the stent has been fractured due to the von Mises stress was already over the ultimate stress of the material, in fact there was no evident depicted by SEM image. © 2019 IEEE.

Utilization of Spirulina platensis microalgae as edible coating to maintain quality of fresh strawberry (Fragaria sp.)

The fruit is an important element of daily food but undergoes rapid deterioration due to their high metabolic activity. The edible coating on fruit is one alternative that can be used to improve quality and prolong shelf life. The edible coating can come from microalgae with high protein content, which is Spirulina platensis. Other materials needed are glycerol as a plasticizer to increase flexibility and elasticity and surfactant, which is carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) as a thickener, stabilizer, and emulsifier. Strawberry (Fragaria sp.) was a sample fruit in this study. The condition of storage temperature is at the fridge temperature of about ± 4-7 °C. This study aims to obtain the appropriate microalgae concentration as the main ingredient in making edible coating to prolong strawberry’s shelf life. In this study, what varied are the concentration of S. platensis microalgae, which are 0,5%, 0,75%, and 1% (w/v). There are three tests carried out: protein quantification on edible coating solution, physical properties (weight loss), and chemical properties (pH and vitamin C) on fruit. Based on this study, an edible coating that has the best effect on strawberries is 1% S. platensis with lower weight loss, pH level, and higher vitamin C content up to seven days of storage. With higher protein content, the use of 1% S. platensis with the temperature of ± 4-7 °C achieved the lowest weight loss at 5.21 ± 0.09%, the lowest pH value at 3.29 ± 0.06, and the highest vitamin C content at 37.51 ± 0.78 mg/100g in strawberries in the seventh day of storage.

Endosulfan is a toxic organochlorine insecticide and is persistent in the environment. Endosulfan residue can be accumulated underground and lower soil quality, pollute water sources, and create bioaugmentation. This research aims to gather required information and study the potential of bacteria consortium consists of Bordetella sp., Bordetella petrii, and Achromobactery xylosoxidans to remediate endosulfan polluted soil. Bioremediation on laboratory scale conducted in a soil reactor, the pH level of 7, 20% humidity, and adjusted temperature to field temperature. Endosulfan was added into a reactor with a concentration of 2mg/g. The bacteria consortium utilized endosulfan as a nutrient source to decently grow up until this research was finished on the 30th day. Maximum removal occurred on upper layer soil with 99% of alpha-endosulfan and beta-endosulfan removal rates. Pilot-scale removal can be implemented with landfarming bioremediation. Two (2) processing beds were prepared with 15m of length, 7.5m of width, and 0.5m of height. This method was able to remove 99% of endosulfan in just 457.75 hours. This research can be implemented to remediate endosulfan polluted soil through the bioremediation method by utilizing bacteria consortium.

The kinetics of Fe2+ heavy metal adsorption by microalgae Desmodesmus sp. beads

Industrial waste that contains high concentration of iron heavy metal (Fe2+) needs to be reduced into a safer limit for water ecosystem using an environmental-friendly, sustainable and low cost technology. This literature study was aimed to gather information on Fe2+ metal ion removal with biosorption method by mobilized beads-shaped Desmodesmus sp. green microalgae. Biosorbent beads are made of Desmodesmus sp. green microalgae powder binded with Na-alginate polymer. Desmodesmus sp. microalgae were cultivated in an Erlenmeyer flask with wastewater contains Fe2+ and Beijerinck growth media controlled in batch system. Analysis was conducted to study the influence of pH, size, beads, beads concentration, and Na-alginate concentration towards Fe2+ heavy metal removal efficiency on biosorption process. Research results revealed that Fe2+ heavy metal was effectively adsorbed by 1 mm beads up until 46% at maximum capacity on pH level of 6. These beads contain 8% gr/L of microalgae powder and 9% gr/L of Na-alginate. The involved function groups in Fe2+ sorption and the beads biosorbent morphology changes were analyzed by using FTIR and SEM. This biosorption research was following by analysis of Freundlich isotherm and reaction kinetics order two with linear approach. This was to shows the beads possess adsorption kinetics with optimum Fe2+ absorption capacity. Desmodesmus sp. beads are highly potential to be used as biosorbent since the heavy metal removal process was selectively conducted on wide pH level and temperature ranges, fast adsorption kinetics, and low operational cost. The smaller the beads size the wider the surface area, which leads to higher removal efficiency rate.

There are some types of scheduling problems in the production line of manufacturing. One of the most multiple usages of the operational machine for doing some jobs is job shop scheduling. The implementation of the job shop problem in this study uses the input of random order of eight job numbers. The raw materials for the job numbers to do the process and the five type machines are considered. The machines work in different functions to do the jobs for some materials. The materials have processed the work in process (WIP) before they are sent to the warehouse. The proposed of this study is to find the optimal condition of job shop scheduling heuristic and deterministic rules to minimize the makespan, tardiness with the heuristic and some deterministic rules in the Lekin software. The heuristic methods are General SBRoutine and the DASH (shifting bottleneck). The deterministic use Critical Ratio (CR) Rule, First come First Serve Rule (FCFS), Longest Processing Time (LPT), Shortest Processing Time (SPT), Weighted Shortest Processing Time (WSPT) and Machine Sequence (MS). The result shows that the minimum makespan is FCFS method with 47 minutes, the tardiness is 27, and for the machine no3. It produces the effective percentage of The contras deviation performance among the jobs of DASH, and compare to the FCFS is as follow, DASH, LPT, MS, SPT, WSPT are increasing 4.26%;31,91%;8.51%;4.26% and 12.77% respectively. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Cities are developing due to population growth, socio-economic structure changes, technology and spatial interaction with its surroundings. 'Bagian Wilayah Kota (BWK) C' or so-called 'urban zone C' of Bandar Lampung municipality comprising districts of Sukarame, Tanjung Senang, and Way Halim is currently growing both internally and externally due to the development of Trans-Sumatera highway and Institute Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA). The dynamics of development and activities have caused a growing physical urban space, affecting the changes of urban structure directly. The current development in BWK C has been considered as unmanageable and potentially caused some problems in spatial plan in the future. To prevent the chaotic of spatial plan in the future, this study aims to identify the changes of urban structure in BWK C of Bandar Lampung municipality due to the internal and external development of its area. This study benefits in providing comprehensive standpoints about the process of urban structure changes based on urban activities so that city government could gain a systematic discourse of urban development which advantages in policymaking for spatial development in Bandar Lampung municipality in the future. This study conducted several analytical methods ranging from comparative analysis, spatial analysis, and hierarchical centrality index analysis. For data collection, this study applied secondary data survey and field work observation, using data from 2010 to 2016. The findings of this study reveal that the physical development in BWK C is getting compacted as its morphology changed from ribbon shaped city to octopus shaped city.

Aquaculture wastewater contains high levels of organic matter and nutrients, which can be harmful to aquatic life if discharged improperly into surface water bodies. Coagulation-flocculation is currently the best practice for treating aquaculture effluent with biocoagulants, offering an alternative to metal-based coagulants. This study aims to investigate the potential of Tamarindus indica seeds as a biocoagulant for treating aquaculture wastewater, focusing on the optimal solvent extraction, concentration, and dose. This study also examines the toxicity of biocoagulants to aquatic organisms. Coagulation-flocculation study was conducted under jar test experiment with NaCl, NaOH, and HCl used as solvents; concentration of 0-10 g/L; and doses of 1-5 % v/v under 120 rpm (rotation per minute) rapid mixing for 1 min, 20 rpm slow mixing for 20 mins, and 60 mins sedimentation time. A characterization study showed that NaCl-treated T. indica has a positive zeta potential charge, attributed to the presence of hydroxyl, carbonyl, and amide functional groups. Under this optimum condition (NaCl-extract, 6 g/L, and 4 % v/v), the biocoagulant achieved high removal (>50 %) of turbidity, TSS (total suspended solid), and ammonia and considerably good removal of other parameters (TN [total nitrogen], BOD 5 [biological oxygen demand], COD [chemical oxygen demand]). The toxicity test revealed that no mortality was observed at a concentration of 1 g/L, whereas 10 g/L resulted in a 100 % mortality rate after 24 hours of exposure. Further toxicity analysis is suggested to be conducted using treated final effluent (not directly using biocoagulant substances) to observe the direct impact of the treated wastewater if discharged into the water bodies.

The influence of motorcycle behavior on saturation flow rate at signalized intersections with and without exclusive stopping space for motorcycle (ESSM)

Traffic in most developing nations is considered mixed or heterogeneous. Motorcycle and other vehicle's behavior at signalized intersections would not probably have a similar influence on intersection capacity and time of the traffic signals. In theory, the saturation flow rate is a basic parameter to estimate the intersection capacity and time of the traffic signals. This study, therefore, aims to analyze the influence of motorcycle behavior on the saturation flow rate at signalized intersections in Denpasar, Bali. Traffic flow data are observed at four signalized intersection approaches that have similar width and traffic characteristics. Two approaches have exclusive stopping space for motorcycles (ESSM) while the other two do not. The study results show that more than 50% of motorcycles tend to be distributed beside flow at signalized intersections with ESSM on either light or dense traffic flows. In contrast, at the signalized intersections without ESSM, motorcycles are found to be distributed inside flow during low traffic conditions, while distributed beside flow during dense traffic flow. Besides, the saturation flow rates of motorcycle inside flow are less than that of beside flow at signalized intersections both with and without ESSM. A new method to estimate saturation flow is proposed.

The study of distribution of chicken manure fertilizer for papaya growth and production beneath unproductive palm oil

The research was conducted in Naga Sari village, Muaro Jambi regency, from February 2020 to June 2020. The design applied was a group-randomized design with 2 treatment factors. The first factor was the California variety (V1) and ruby rise red variety (V2). The second factor was chicken manure distribution: without fertilizer distribution (P0), 50 g of (P1), 100 of (P2), 150 of (P3), and 200 of (P4). The result of this research showed that the distribution of 150 g has a real impact on the plant's height and stem diameter, and the number of fruits on 5 Months After Cultivating to 6 Months After Cultivating. Variety treatment doesn't have a real impact on the papaya observation parameter. The interaction among the varieties with a dose of chicken manure has a real impact on plant height, stem diameter, and a number of the leaf. Qualitative data from papaya varieties showed fruit color and taste experiment gets the real impact. The impact of papaya plants and chicken manure showed a good growth tendency on palm oil cultivated with ruby rise red papaya as the side plant. The organoleptic test shows that the variety of Ruby papaya is preferred.
