Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) poses significant environmental challenges to water resource management. This review explores the potential of waste materials in developing nanocomposites for AMD treatment. The study highlights the benefits of using agricultural residues, industrial byproducts, and municipal solid waste as components in nanocomposites. These waste-based nanocomposites offer cost-effectiveness, resource conservation, and transformation of waste into valuable assets. The mechanisms of pollutant removal, recent trends, and advancements in nanocomposites for AMD treatment are discussed. Unlike previous studies, this work provides a pioneering comprehensive assessment of waste-derived nanocomposites, systematically synthesizing state-of-the-art advancements while critically evaluating their practical application and ecological impact. Recommendations for optimizing nanocomposites include material selection, property tailoring, and field implementation. Future research directions are proposed, such as advanced characterization techniques, novel waste material exploration, and ecological impact evaluation. Harnessing waste material potential can promote sustainable water and waste management, restoring AMD-affected environments and protecting water resources.

In meeting the requirements of the markets, the high-quality products are a necessary, thus the company should improve their product quality by reducing defects. The purpose of this study is to identify product defects and to determine the factors that cause during the production process, to propose corrective actions to reduce the number of defects. This research was conducted at Mill Line on Plate Rolling Department PT. Krakatau Posco. The research uses the Six Sigma method. Following the Six Sigma method, the result of DPMO is 568 with δ value is 4.87 which is still under the world target which is 6δ (3.4 DPMO). Proposals steps for improving the quality of plate products are doing routine maintenance and repairing of the machine, checking engine calibration conditions, improving the quality of slab material, heating slab time > 180 minutes, setting parameters (thickness, width, and length) as specified, and checking the straightness of the product plate during the rolling process (camber correction). The calculation of the dimensions of the heat exchanger aims to determine the quality of the heat exchanger based on the overall heat transfer coefficient, impurity factor, and the pressure drop that will occur. The heat exchanger that is made and designed is a shell and tube type heat exchanger 1 (one) pass shell and 1 (one) pass tube made of stainless steel 304 and copper with fluid flow in the form of air and water. This study aims to: 1) describe the mechanism of the level 2 IQF (the Indonesian Qualifications Framework) descriptor development for electrical engineering, and 2) formulate a set of detailed-level-2 descriptors for electrical engineering. The method used to develop the descriptors is brainstorming between the researcher and several experts from both academicians and practitioners. Meanwhile, the method to formulate the IQF descriptors for electrical engineering is literature review referring to The Indonesian National Work Competency Standard (SKKNI) and focus group discussion involving experts from academicians, Professional Certification Institute Gema PDKB, the Association of Indonesian Electrical Works (APEI), Consortium for Electrical Installation Safety (KONSUIL), and industry practitioners such as PT. LEN Bandung, PT. Bukaka Teknik Utama, PT. Schneider Electric Indonesia, and PT. Smart Energi Semesta. The descriptors are in the form of the guttman scale questionnaire. The questionnaire was then tested on limited-scale respondents. The KR 20 method was employed to examine the reliability and resulted in r11 = 0.9;thus, the guttman scale questionnaire was considered "very reliable". The respondents consisted of 8 academicians, 8 electrical engineering teachers at vocational high schools, and 8 industrial practitioners. The collected data were then analyzed descriptively. This study resulted in a set of level 2 IQF descriptors which were designed according to the taxonomy of electricity system, namely electric power transmission system descriptors, electric power distribution system descriptors, and electric power utilization descriptors. In regard to electric power transmission system, 103 out of 154 (67%) descriptors were approved by more than 80% of respondents;for electric power distribution system, 83 descriptors (75%) were approved by more than 80% of respondents;and for electric power utilization system, 61 descriptors (94%) were approved by more than 8

Research on the effect of T6 heat treatment and artificial life time on crystal size, density dislocation, hardness, and microstructure of Al 6061 alloy material made from powder metallurgy. The T6 heat treatment starts with a solid solution which is heated at 530 ° C, held for 60 minutes, then quenching into the water media, and the artificial aging process at 200 ° C and variations in the holding time of 1h, 24h, and 30h. Crystal size, dislocation density and lattice microstructure testing using X-ray diffractometer, hardness testing with Vickers scale and surface microstructure with SEM-EDX. Test results of crystal size, dislocation density, and micro lattice strain on 4 phase α-Al at the miller index plane (111), (200), (220), and (311) show that the crystal size increases with the duration of heating time of artificial aging. While dislocation density and micro lattice strain increase over a heating period of 1h to 30h, dislocation density and lattice strain decrease at the Miller index plane (111) to (311). The hardness testing of Al 6061 as-cast material was 54 HV after quenching the water hardness value of 75 HV, but after artificial aging the hardness decreased with a longer holding time from 45.50 HV to 39.95 HV. Microstructure observations with SEM-EDX, showed that the Al 6061 test sample without heat treatment showed a dominant α-Al matrix, whereas in the Al 6061 sample after the T6 process it was seen that the Mg2Si phase functioned to harden the Al 6061 alloy.

The plastic waste problem has become a global problem and the effect on the environment is horrible. Almost all countries make an effort to reduce their daily utilization. Environmental organizations and researchers are also performing research to find ways to recycle plastic waste. In this paper introduces the 'Eco-green Design Concept' to utilize plastic waste (type 2) as fishing boat material. This concept will recycle 3 tonnes of plastic waste into the material of a fishing boat. In addition, the implementation element of eco-green design concept (design quality (D), Environmental Friendly (E), Eco-green Material (G)) into the design of fishing vessels has been successful. The concept does not only utilize type 2 plastic waste into the hull of the ship, but the design of the ship is made to have small resistance, good stability and has a large cargo area. And also has a machine that is environmentally friendly and does not cause pollution.
