Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is one of parameters in air quality according to Indonesia Government No. 41/1999. NO2 has influence in respiratory problem of human being if it exceeds threshold level (400 μgNO2/Nm3). This study is air monitoring of NO2 concentration in ambient air and it uses a Griess Saltzman method using the spectrophotometer (Indonesia Standard SNI 19-7119.2-2005) near of Plywood Industry and Main Road. The sampling location has two points at Kalimati Village, Tirtomartani, Kalasan, Sleman, D.I Yogyakarta. On December 2016, the results show which NO2 concentration is below threshold level with 0,469 μg NO2/Nm3 at first point and 0,234 μg NO2/Nm3 at second point. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2018.

Design mixed formula of hot mix asphalt mixture very thin overlay using crumb rubber

One of the technologies expected to improve the quality of flexible pavement is to use a modified asphalt mixture of Crumb Rubber (CR). The material can be used as a very thin added layer which is then called Very Thin Overlay Modified Crumb Rubber (VTO Mod-CR) and the functions as a leveling layer. This asphalt mixture is expected to have high durability and increase the age service life of flexible pavement. The aim of this study was to analyze the design mix formula (DMF) and the durability of the asphalt mixture. This research carried out variations of asphalt content i.e. 6.0%, 6.5%, 7.0%, 7.5% and 8.0% with each variation of 3 specimens for Marshall Test. Based on the DMF analysis results obtained optimum asphalt content of 7.00%, while the properties of the mixture in the form of bulk density of 2.240, VIM of 3.77%, VMA of 18.15%, VFA of 79.23%, Stability of 1049 kg, Flow of 3.47 mm, Marshall Quotient of 251 kg / mm, Bitumen Film Thickness 16.08 µm. The results of the analysis of the mixture properties have met specifications General of Highways, so it can be used as a reference for AMP. The BFT value obtained meets the minimum specification specifications of 16 µm, this shows that the resistance to water and oxidation is higher, so the pavement becomes durable.

West Sumatera is a province which has a huge geothermal potential - approximately 6% of Indonesia's total geothermal potential which equals to 1,656 MWe. One of the significant reserves located in Bonjol subdistrict which accounts for more than 50 MWe. The energy from geothermal manifestation in Bonjol can be utilized prior to indirect development. Manifestation at the rate 3 kg/s and 87 °C will flow to cascading system consisting several applications, arranged in order from high to low temperature to efficiently use the excessive energy. The direct use application selected is based on the best potential commodities as well as temperature constraint of heat source. The objective of this paper is to perform a conceptual design for the first cascade direct use of geothermal energy in Indonesia to establish Bonjol Smart Geo-Energy Village which will be transformed as the center of agricultural, stockbreeding, tourism as well as cultural site. A comprehenssive research was performed through remote survey area, evaluation featured product, analysis of heat loss and heat exchange in cascade system. From potential commodities, the three applications selected are cocoa drying and egg hatching incubation machine as well as new tourism site called Terapi Panas Bumi. The optimum temperature for cocoa drying is 62°C with the moisture content 7% which consumes 78 kW for one tones cocoa dried. Whereas, egg incubation system consists of two chamber with the same temperature 40°C for each room and relative humidity 55% and 70%. For the last stage, Terapi Panas Bumi works in temperature 40°C. Based on the result technical and economical aspect, it exhibits cascade direct use of geothermal energy is very recommended to develop. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Effectiveness Tamarind to reduction of Pb content in red mussels

Red Mussels is a food ingredient that is quite popular in East Java. However, the content of heavy metal (Pb) red mussels is quite high above the threshold that is permitted for human consumption, which is below 1.5 ppm. Therefore, the presence of high Pb levels must be reduction according to the specified threshold. The research was conducted in two steps. The first step, Red mussel's extraction using Tamarind solution. Tamarind contains organic acids, one of which is citric acid which acts as a metal binding agent so as to reduce the metal content. The second stage of extracting red mussels uses pure citric acid, then the results are compared. The optimum results obtained at the time of extraction and concentration using tamarind was 60 minutes and 25%, the effectiveness of citric acid in tamarind was 98.89% (initial Pb 17.19 ppm to 0.25 ppm) while pure citric acid was 99.97 % (Initial Pb 17,199 ppm to 0,004 ppm).

The fermentation process is an important indicator of cocoa beans' quality. The standard method used is the Magra test by splitting the cocoa beans and observing the color of the beans with the naked eye to estimate the degree of fermentation. Although, manual estimation systems require specific expertise, which can lead to inconsistency in predicting cocoa bean fermentation rate. This research aims to develop a classification model of two categories of cocoa, i.e., fermented and unfermented cocoa, using computer vision and a machine learning model. Image analysis has been carried out, and color features have been used to train and compare several classification models. After analyzing the data, it was found out that a model that can quantify the standard and accurate measurement of the degree of fermentation of cocoa beans using artificial neural network models so that it can segment, calculate, and grade classification by using color feature extraction, which is the average value of RGB and L*a*b. The Artificial Neural Network (ANN) Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) has been found to be superior compared to other models achieving training and validation accuracy of 94%.

Fermented cassava as an alternative flour for pasta noodle

Cassava is widely cultivated in South East Asia countries like Indonesia. However, ordinary cassava flour cannot substitute wheat flour due to lack of gluten. Fermented cassava flour (fercaf) is a protein enriched cassava flour which is produced from a fermentation process of cassava flakes by lactic acid bacteria. Fercaf may serve as substitution to wheat flour, especially in pasta production. Nevertheless, a number of modifications should be exercise in product formulation to meet the ordinary 'wheat base' pasta product specifications. The current study was focus on these modifications i.e., addition of other flour and addition of hydrocolloids. The properties of pasta such as elasticity, yield, cooking weight, hardness, stickiness as well as sensory property were examined to determine the best pasta formulation. The results show that pasta made from fercaf with the addition of rice and corn flour gave strong and elastic texture while hydrocolloid addition increased water-binding of the pasta. The final pasta formulation included ratio of fercaf:rice:corn flour by 70:10:20 and addition of 2,5% xanthan gum.

The Online Test application uses Telegram Bots Version 1.0

The development of the smartphones that rapidly increasing, and high smartphone Users as a tool to make a lot of information, make emergence of instant messaging applications with a variety of options for use. Telegram, as one of the instant messaging application that is fairly new, offering in its various features compared to other instant messaging applications, so it can grow rapidly and much in demand in only 2 years. One of the interesting features is the Bot telegram, a special account without number that can handle Command from the User and gives answers appropriate to Command functionality. The account serves as the interface of the running system that communicate via Telegram Bot API. This study seeks to build a Bot telegram with database to built The Online Test application uses Telegram Bots Version 1.0. In each lecture meeting, a Lecturer can make a short test in the form of multiple choices to review the material at the previous meeting and get information about what percentage of students understand the material that has been taught before. We can use the application to send realtime messages to facilitate the test. Of course, which supports the creation of bots easily to add features that did not yet exist. Of the many we chose Telegram to be an online test environment by utilizing the Bot creation facilities provided by Telegram. This article will be a guide that makes it easier for lecturers to give a simple test at the beginning of the meeting, so that they can attract students' daily grades. And in order to be more interactive there are features of student value progress reports that can also be accessed individually so that students can know the progress of their learning outcomes.

As the intensity of global environmental challenges increases, so does the need to understand and strengthen the resilience of interconnected systems. This research underscores the crucial role of adaptive governance in navigating the complexities of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem nexus, particularly under the pressures of changing climatic conditions. The study conducts an in-depth analysis of adaptive capacities by identifying critical components such as assets, flexibility, organization, learning, and agency as fundamental elements of adaptive governance in sanitation practices. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using binary probit and logit models to examine how these attributes influence community engagement in sanitation. Descriptive analysis was also used to summarize respondent characteristics and attribute distributions. © 2025 The Author(s)

After commissioning of a power plant, geothermal reservoir will encounter pressure decline, which will affect wells productivity. Therefore, further drilling is carried out to enhance steam production. Make-up wells are production wells drilled inside an already confirmed reservoir to maintain steam production in a certain level. Based on Sanyal (2004), geothermal power cost consists of three components, those are capital cost, O&M cost and make-up drilling cost. The make-up drilling cost component is a major part of power cost which will give big influence in a whole economical value of the project. The objective of this paper it to analyse the make-up wells drilling cost component in financial model of a geothermal power project. The research will calculate make-up wells requirements, drilling costs as a function of time and how they influence the financial model and affect the power cost. The best scenario in determining make-up wells strategy in relation with the project financial model would be the result of this research. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Geothermal bussiness nowadays needs to be accelerated in a way that profit can be obtained as soon as reasonable possible. One of the many ways to do this is by using one of geothermal wellhead generating unit (GWGU), called backpressure turbine. Backpressure turbine can be used in producing electricity as soon as there is productive or rather small-scale productive well existed after finished drilling. In a vapor dominated system, steam fraction in the wellhead capable to produce electricity based on each well productivity immediately. The advantage for using vapor dominated system is reduce brine disposal in the wellhead so it will be a cost benefit in operation. The design and calculation for backpressure turbine will use probablistic approach with Monte Carlo simulation. The parameter that will be evaluated in sensitivity would be steam flow rate, turbine inlet pressure, and turbine exhaust pressure/atmospheric pressure. The result are probability for P10, P50, and P90 of gross power output which are 1.78 MWe, 2.22 MWe and 2.66 Mwe respectively. Whereas the P10, P50, and P90 of SSC are 4.67 kg/s/MWe, 5.19 kg/s/MWe and 5.78 kg/s/MWe respectively. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
