The healthcare industry is undergoing a fundamental revolution with the integration of Quantum Natural Language Processing techniques for matching patient-clinical trials. This research envisions a paradigm where patients and clinical trials collaborate, changing the way healthcare is supplied and medical research is conducted. Apart from this, the research focuses on engaging patients in clinical trials. Patient involvement refers to the process by which patients and their healthcare providers collaborate to make decisions regarding their health. Within the framework of clinical studies, this may entail participants providing input on study designs or monitoring their data through wearable technology and smartphone apps. Quantum NLP has the potential to enhance patient outcomes and advance medical knowledge more quickly by enabling more precise and effective clinical trials. By setting the framework for future applications of quantum NLP, this study expands the conversation on the connection between quantum computing and healthcare. © 2025 IEEE.

COVID-19 pandemic restrictions limited all social activities to curtail the spread of the *** foremost and most prime sector among those affected were schools,colleges,and *** education system of entire nations had shifted to online education during this *** shortcomings of Learning Management Systems(LMSs)were detected to support education in an online mode that spawned the research in Artificial Intelligence(AI)based tools that are being developed by the research community to improve the effectiveness of *** paper presents a detailed survey of the different enhancements to LMSs,which are led by key advances in the area of AI to enhance the real-time and non-real-time user *** AI-based enhancements proposed to the LMSs start from the Application layer and Presentation layer in the form of flipped classroom models for the efficient learning environment and appropriately designed UI/UX for efficient utilization of LMS utilities and resources,including AI-based *** layer enhancements are also required,such as AI-based online proctoring and user authentication using *** extend to the Transport layer to support real-time and rate adaptive encrypted video transmission for user security/privacy and satisfactory working of *** also needs the support of the Networking layer for IP-based geolocation features,the Virtual Private Network(VPN)feature,and the support of Software-Defined Networks(SDN)for optimum Quality of Service(QoS).Finally,in addition to these,non-real-time user experience is enhanced by other AI-based enhancements such as Plagiarism detection algorithms and Data Analytics.

Pharos: A Transparent and Steerable Visualization Recommendation System

We propose Pharos, a novel visualization recommendation system that makes use of several provenance data sources and multi-perspective overviews to boost the transparency and steerability of the recommendation engine. Pharos helps a user understand recommendation contexts along with the user’s analysis progress in three complementary overviews. Pharos also serves categorized and scalable recommendations, either expanding or narrowing a user’s analysis scope. Based on provenance data and explicit user annotations (i.e., bookmarked or excluded visualizations), Pharos dynamically updates a recommendation list. According to the provided context, a user can steer the recommendation direction by filtering recommended candidates and rearranging them via the weight controller of the similarity measure on the recommendation engine. We showed how Pharos helped users understand and steer visualization recommendations through two comparative user studies. © 2023. The Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers

QuarantivityVR: Supporting Self-Embodiment for Non-HMD Users in Asymmetric Social VR Games

The prevalence of immersive head-mounted display (HMD) social virtual reality (VR) applications introduced asymmetric interaction among users within the virtual environment (VE). Therefore, researchers opted for (1) exploring the asymmetric social VR interaction dynamics in only co-located setups, (2) assigning interdependent roles to both HMD and non-HMD users, and (3) representing non-HMD users as abstract avatars in the VE. Therefore, we investigate the feasibility of supporting Self-Embodiment in an asymmetric VR interaction mode in a remote setup. To this end, we designed an asymmetric social VR game, QuarantivityVR, to (1) support sense of self-embodiment for non-HMD users in a remote setting by representing them as realistic full-body avatars within the VE, (2) augment visual-motor synchrony for the non-HMD users to increase their sense of agency and presence by detecting their motion through Kinect sensor and laptop's webcam. During the game, each player performs three activities in succession, namely movie-guessing, spelling-bee, and answering mathematical questions. We believe that our work will act as a step towards the inclusion of a wide spectrum of users that can not afford full immersion and will aid researchers in creating enjoyable interactions for both users in the physical and virtual spaces. © 2022 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.

This research aims to enhance Clinical Decision Support Systems(CDSS)within Wireless Body Area Networks(WBANs)by leveraging advanced machine learning ***,we target the challenges of accurate diagnosis in medical imaging and sequential data analysis using Recurrent Neural Networks(RNNs)with Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)layers and echo state *** models are tailored to improve diagnostic precision,particularly for conditions like rotator cuff tears in osteoporosis patients and gastrointestinal *** diagnostic methods and existing CDSS frameworks often fall short in managing complex,sequential medical data,struggling with long-term dependencies and data imbalances,resulting in suboptimal accuracy and delayed *** goal is to develop Artificial Intelligence(AI)models that address these shortcomings,offering robust,real-time diagnostic *** propose a hybrid RNN model that integrates SimpleRNN,LSTM layers,and echo state cells to manage long-term dependencies ***,we introduce CG-Net,a novel Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)framework for gastrointestinal disease classification,which outperforms traditional CNN *** further enhance model performance through data augmentation and transfer learning,improving generalization and robustness against data scarcity and *** validation,including 5-fold cross-validation and metrics such as accuracy,precision,recall,F1-score,and Area Under the Curve(AUC),confirms the models’***,SHapley Additive exPlanations(SHAP)and Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations(LIME)are employed to improve model *** findings show that the proposed models significantly enhance diagnostic accuracy and efficiency,offering substantial advancements in WBANs and CDSS.

Job Resumes Recommendation using Integration of Fuzzy Discernibility Matrix Feature Selection and Convolutional Neural Network Multi-label Text Classification

The manual analysis of job resumes poses specific challenges, including the time-intensive process and the high likelihood of human error, emphasizing the need for automation in content-based recommendations. Recent advancements in deep learning, particularly Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for Multi-label Text Classification (MLTC), offer a promising solution for addressing these challenges through artificial intelligence. While CNN is renowned for its robust feature extraction capabilities, it faces specific challenges such as managing high-dimensional data and poor data interpretability. To address these limitations, this study employs the Fuzzy Discernibility Matrix (FDM) feature selection technique to determine the relevance of skills for each job vacancy. FDM assigns weights to the features of each job category and ranks their relevance based on the highest scores, which are then utilized in the MLTC CNN model. The integration of FDM and MLTC CNN serves as the foundation for generating content-based recommendations derived from key features in job resumes. This study produces a content-based job recommendation system that displays the top three job categories, accompanied by explanations of the skills supporting each selected category. These recommendations also consider cosine similarity values between analyzed items and the integrated results of FDM and MLTC CNN. The application of FDM for feature weighting has been proven to enhance multi-label text classification outcomes by providing better insights during the feature selection process. With a recall of 97.26%, precision of 94.81%, and accuracy of 98.58%, the MLTC model integrating FDM feature selection and CNN demonstrates robust performance characteristics in content-based job recommendation tasks. © 2025 Slovene Society Informatika. Effective manpower planning is crucial for any organization, including universities, as it directly influences performance, productivity, and overall success. Inefficient recruitment processes can lead to increased costs, higher turnover rates, and suboptimal utilization of human resources, negatively impacting the institution's ability to achieve its goals and maintain a competitive advantage. The objective of this study is to develop a comprehensive digital solution to streamline and enhance recruitment and manpower planning processes, replacing traditional manual methods. This paper presents the Recruitment and Manpower Planning System, an innovative web-based platform designed using Extreme Programming (XP) methodologies. The system integrates modern programming tools such as Visual Studio Code, Laragon, Laravel 9, and MySQL, and utilizes Unified Modelling Language (UML) for precise system design. A mixed-methods approach, incorporating quantitative data from structured questionnaires administered to 500 users, informed the system's design. Data analysis indicates a 40% reduction in recruitment time, a 35% increase in successful job placements, and a 90% user satisfaction rate. Rigorous testing phases ensured system accuracy and quality. This digital solution not only optimizes recruitment processes but also provides a robust prototype for future advancements in manpower planning systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Recently,several edge deployment types,such as on-premise edge clusters,Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAV)-attached edge devices,telecommunication base stations installed with edge clusters,etc.,are being deployed to enable faster response time for latency-sensitive *** fundamental problem is where and how to offload and schedule multi-dependent tasks so as to minimize their collective execution time and to achieve high resource *** approaches randomly dispatch tasks naively to available edge nodes without considering the resource demands of tasks,inter-dependencies of tasks and edge resource *** approaches can result in the longer waiting time for tasks due to insufficient resource availability or dependency support,as well as provider ***,we present Edge Colla,which is based on the integration of edge resources running across multi-edge *** Colla leverages learning techniques to intelligently dispatch multidependent tasks,and a variant bin-packing optimization method to co-locate these tasks firmly on available nodes to optimally utilize *** experiments on real-world datasets from Alibaba on task dependencies show that our approach can achieve optimal performance than the baseline schemes.

Blockchain technology provides a decentralized, irreversible, and verifiable ledger for recording digital asset transactions. This technology has the potential to drastically alter several cutting-edge scenarios. But recently, blockchain has found itself under scrutiny over security and privacy. Multiple heists and hacks have taken place in blockchain systems in this short period of blockchain evolution. Innovative secure privacy blockchain solutions utilizing the crypto-privacy approaches have become the need of the hour to handle privacy issues. The below work discusses ways to bring in state-of-the-art technologies to exculpate the concerns raised on privacy and security uncertainties. Here, the primary emphasis is given to combat the chaos arising in blockchain privacy and security thus contributing to the users and developers of blockchain.
