The conventional approach to manual inspection can be described by its considerable time and labor demands and the unavoidable occurrence of human error when faced with the inspection of a large number of products. Therefore, the application of an automated visual inspection system is frequently employed. The camera(s) can easily capture visual features for automatic visual inspection. However, it is essential to note that there are limitations when using this method to estimate the size-based grading system. The volume measurement is an essential feature in the field of automatic image analysis for fruit and vegetable grading, specifically guava. In this study, we propose a novel image analysis approach that utilizes a dual-view camera system to enhance the accuracy of volume approximation, particularly in scenarios involving non-perfect spherical objects. Hence, this research presents the training process of a comprehensive model for estimating the volume of objects with irregular shapes, named AVIG (Automatic Visual Inspection for Grading). The model utilizes the ellipsoid approximation technique, a dual-view camera, and XGBoost algorithm. The results from the accuracy comparison demonstrate that XGBoost shows the highest degree of accuracy, specifically 86%, thereby outperforming the performance of other algorithms. The comprehensive experiment conducted in this study has shown that the proposed architecture, AVIG, exhibits superior performance compared to previous research in terms of automatic evaluation of moving objects. © 2023 ACM.

This research explores a new finite element model for the free vibration analysis of bi-directional functionally graded (BDFG) beams. The model is based on an efficient higher-order shear deformation beam theory that incorporates a trigonometric warping function for both transverse shear deformation and stress to guarantee traction-free boundary conditions without the necessity of shear correction factors. The proposed two-node beam element has three degrees of freedom per node, and the inter-element continuity is retained using both C1 and C0 continuities for kinematics variables. In addition, the mechanical properties of the (BDFG) beam vary gradually and smoothly in both the in-plane and out-of-plane beam’s directions according to an exponential power-law distribution. The highly elevated performance of the developed model is shown by comparing it to conceptual frameworks and solution procedures. Detailed numerical investigations are also conducted to examine the impact of boundary conditions, the bi-directional gradient indices, and the slenderness ratio on the free vibration response of BDFG beams. The suggested finite element beam model is an excellent potential tool for the design and the mechanical behavior estimation of BDFG structures. © 2024 Techno-Press, Ltd.

The use of healthcare-based IOT becomes something that is unavoidable, especially when a pandemic occurs, where a screening process is needed for a person's condition. This initial condition can be a determinant of further steps to be taken based on these conditions. Healthcare-based IOT can help make it easier for Health in initial checks where this can be done in remote areas and at a relatively low cost. The use of the Safe Entry Station (SES) can assist in determining whether or not a person is healthy, measurements are made with basic things, namely blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate and other things. The results of the test are then sent to the central health institution, where the data will be used for further decision making on the results. For this reason, it is necessary to increase the security of the data sent, to avoid leaks, changes, manipulation and so on. This article discusses the encryption of data sent from Safe Entry Stations to Advanced Health Institutions, the use of XOR-based Encryption, encryption is done with indexvalue formulation of data that is enumerated. The results of this encryption are proven to increase the security of the resulting data from the Safe Entry Station which is sent to the Advanced Health Institute. Testing is done with several tools that are available for free. © 2023 IEEE.

Light contains different wavelengths of the spectrum that are detected and received by photoreceptor cells (rod and cone cells) in the retina. However, light serves non-visual functions in human perception, such as emotion regulation, cognitive performance, sleep cycle, and hormone production. These functions alter brain activity and oxygen consumption in the brain. Our objective was to investigate the effect of light on brain activity using NIRS. Ten subjects (8 males, 2 females) with normal color vision were exposed to achromatic light (white and gray) or chromatic light (blue, green, yellow, and red) for 20 seconds in random order, followed by 30 seconds of rest (dim light). This stimulation-rest cycle was repeated 4 times (total time = 20.30 minutes). NIRS was used to measure Oxy-Hb, Deoxy-Hb, and Total-Hb levels in the frontal lobe of the brain during stimulation. After light stimulation, participants were assessed using the BRUMS and a color effectiveness test. The results indicated that the z-score of Oxy-Hb significantly altered in response to gray light compared to white light. Red and blue light led to a greater alter in Oxy-Hb than green and yellow light. However, there was no significant alter in Deoxy-Hb during both achromatic and chromatic light exposure. Gray light induced feelings of depression and confusion, while red light affected tension and anger. Red and green light promoted feelings of vigor. Fatigue did not show a significant difference between achromatic and chromatic light. Additionally, long wavelengths had a more positive effect compared to short wavelengths. These findings indicate possible uses in neurotherapeutic interventions for stimulating brain activity in individuals with cognitive impairments using light therapy boxes, as well as in architectural lighting design to impact emotion regulation. © 2023 IEEE.

With the prevalence of the Internet of Things(IoT)systems,smart cities comprise complex networks,including sensors,actuators,appliances,and cyber *** complexity and heterogeneity of smart cities have become vulnerable to sophisticated cyber-attacks,especially privacy-related attacks such as inference and data poisoning *** Learning(FL)has been regarded as a hopeful method to enable distributed learning with privacypreserved intelligence in IoT *** though the significance of developing privacy-preserving FL has drawn as a great research interest,the current research only concentrates on FL with independent identically distributed(i.i.d)data and few studies have addressed the non-i.i.d *** is known to be vulnerable to Generative Adversarial Network(GAN)attacks,where an adversary can presume to act as a contributor participating in the training process to acquire the private data of other *** paper proposes an innovative Privacy Protection-based Federated Deep Learning(PP-FDL)framework,which accomplishes data protection against privacy-related GAN attacks,along with high classification rates from non-i.i.d ***-FDL is designed to enable fog nodes to cooperate to train the FDL model in a way that ensures contributors have no access to the data of each other,where class probabilities are protected utilizing a private identifier generated for each *** PP-FDL framework is evaluated for image classification using simple convolutional networks which are trained using MNIST and CIFAR-10 *** empirical results have revealed that PF-DFL can achieve data protection and the framework outperforms the other three state-of-the-art models with 3%–8%as accuracy improvements.
