This paper develops a new meta-heuristic algorithm, called Membrane Algorithm based on Quasi-Affine TRansformation Evolution (MA-QUATRE). The proposed algorithm combines the principles of QUATRE, the one-level membrane structure, and the rules of membrane systems. The different operations of QUATRE are for each inner elementary membrane and outer skin membrane, and the transformation/communication is like rules in membrane systems. For the effectiveness of MA-QUATRE, it is first evaluated on the CEC2022 benchmark and compared with five QUATRE-related algorithms. Further, the proposed algorithm is used to solve two engineering design problems (tension/compression spring and pressure vessel design) and compared with the original QUATRE and six state-of-the-art algorithms. Finally, experimental results show that the proposed MA-QUATRE is a competitive algorithm for optimization problems. Seamless communication between authorities, people, and smart devices is crucial in today's globally interconnected world. Unprecedented demands on software design result from the advent of ubiquitous connectivity, which allows connections at any time and from any location. By structuring applications as separate services that can communicate both internally inside a platform and externally across platforms, microservices (MS) architecture satisfies these requirements. One of the most difficult parts, though, is still controlling communication between MS services, which calls for knowledge of the best design patterns. In order to solve this, we suggest a context-aware recommender system that is adapted to MS design patterns. This system not only makes recommendations for appropriate patterns, but it also gives statistical scores that show how relevant each solution is to the particular issue at hand. Other patterns with ratings indicating their possible feasibility are also displayed by our algorithm. On the other hand, sentence transformers handle intricate, human-like problem descriptions, while our method uses MS Domain Ontologies to distinguish pattern applications, constraints, and best practices. Our methodology provides a refined examination of solution suitability and recommendations through the use of weighing and correlation algorithms. Extensively tested with more than 237 developer-style scenarios, our framework offers qualitative and quantitative insights into its performance and efficacy, showing notable gains over current solutions in terms of offering pattern-specific, contextually accurate guidance for MS communication challenges.

Individual safety in urban and city centers is one of the fundamental rights of every person. Today's innovations open up various possibilities for improving the quality of life and safety, but if they are not applied, they carry the danger of an additional increase in crime or greater insecurity in urban centers. This investigation aims to apply insights into the anticipation of illegal actions by various criminal groups that use illegal means, such as weapons, to get property that does not belong to them. In this research, computer vision and advanced strategies such as YOLOv10 and YOLOv9 are used to compare their properties and performance for improving security in urban and populated areas. The best results were achieved by YOLOv9m with a high percentage of mean average precision in the amount of 0.923, while the worst performance was shown by YOLOv10n with a mean average precision of 0.902. Precision and recall for the YOLOv9 and YOLOv10 models were also taken into account and the results are as follows: 0.984.. 0.993.. 0.979.. and 0.996. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper introduces an alternative technique for diagnosing Acute Ischemic Stroke within the IoMT environment. In the proposed approach, the collected data is transmitted to a cloud-based center where the technique utilizes EfficientNet, a deep learning model, designed to extract features from MRI images thereby enhancing the detection of acute ischemic infarctions. The performance of EfficientNet is compared against two other models, CNN and MobileNet, demonstrating its superior efficacy through metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, which stand at 92.31%, 92.28%, 92.33%, and 92.30%, respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that gradually deprives the patient of cognitive function and can end in death. With the advancement of technology today, it is possible to detect Alzheimer’s disease through Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans. With MRI technology and image recognition, early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease can be performed automatically using machine learning. Although machine learning has many advantages, currently, deep learning is more widely applied because it has more robust learning capabilities and is suitable for solving image recognition problems. However, several challenges must be faced to implement deep learning, such as the need for large datasets, computing resources, and careful parameter setting to prevent overfitting or underfitting. In responding to the challenge of classifying Alzheimer’s disease using deep learning, this study proposes the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) with the Residual Layer (ResNet-18) architecture. Transfer learning from ImageNet and weighting the loss function are then applied so that each class has a weight depending on its size. It is proposed to overcome the need for a large and balanced dataset. Furthermore, this study experimented with changing the network activation function to a Mish activation function. From the results of the tests, the model’s accuracy of 88.30% is produced using transfer learning, weighted loss, and the Mish activation function. This accuracy is better than the baseline model, which only gets an accuracy of 69.10%. © (2023), (International Association of Engineers). All Rights Reserved.

Rhinosinusitis Mucus is mucus produced by mucus glands found in the nose in the paranasal sinus area which indicates inflammation. Segmentation of rhinosinusitis mucus is very difficult to do because of the many characteristics of different objects in the image of the paranasal Sinus CT-Scan in separating the mucus object with its background before the extraction process. The purpose of this study was to accurately identify and measure the mucus area of rhinosinusitis from CT-scan images of rhinosinusitis patients. The test data used in this study is secondary data from CT-Scan of paranasal sinus sagittal view in radiology RSUP M. Djamil Padang, Padang City, West Sumatra, Indonesia, using the Philips Ingenuity CT CT-Scan model type MRC880 numbered Tube series 163889. The segmentation process is carried out to obtain the optimal multi threshold value from each slice of the test image using the Improved Adaptive Multi Threshold (IAMT) segmentation method which produces a binary image to separate the mucus object with its background before the extraction process. Furthermore, the results of IAMT are applied to the identification and extraction model automatically to obtain the area of the rhinosinusitis mucus object. The extraction results were used for 2D to 3D image reconstruction in calculating the volume of rhinosinusitis mucus objects. The test results showed that the smallest area of rhinosinusitis mucus was 0.516 cm2 and the largest was 1.807 cm2, and the average volume was 0.95 cm3 with Accuracy is 96,5%. The identified areas and volumes indicate inflammation in the area of the paranasal sinuses and require treatment. Thus, this study can help doctors in making the right decision to take further medical action. © 2024 IEEE.

Network security is a crucial component of Information Technology, yet organizations continue to grapple with meeting established security benchmarks. Given the rise in cyber-attacks and the continuous emergence of new attack types, it's practically infeasible to persistently update attack patterns or signatures within security parameters. Key tools such as Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) are instrumental in monitoring network traffic and identifying potential threats. However, these tools face limitations, such as the high volume of alerts produced by IDS and the use of rule-based method, also the inability of SIEM tools to analyze logs comprehensively to identify inappropriate activities. This research has conducted anomaly detection using machine learning process to classify cyber-attacks network flow collected from IDS that installed incident network infrastructure. The analysis of IDS using machine learning, integrated with SIEM. The algorithm used in this research was Random Forest Classifier using CSE-CID-IDS2018 dataset pre-processed with Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Results of the experiments show that Random Forest Classifier Model, when combined with Principal Component Analysis (PCA), yields the most commendable results when applied to a 70/30 training/testing data ratio with accuracy of 0.99953. © 2023 IEEE.

Support Vector Machine(SVM)has become one of the traditional machine learning algorithms the most used in prediction and classification ***,its behavior strongly depends on some parameters,making tuning these parameters a sensitive step to maintain a good *** the other hand,and as any other classifier,the performance of SVM is also affected by the input set of features used to build the learning model,which makes the selection of relevant features an important task not only to preserve a good classification accuracy but also to reduce the dimensionality of *** this paper,the MRFO+SVM algorithm is introduced by investigating the recent manta ray foraging optimizer to fine-tune the SVM parameters and identify the optimal feature subset *** proposed approach is validated and compared with four SVM-based algorithms over eight benchmarking ***,it is applied to a disease Covid-19 *** experimental results show the high ability of the proposed algorithm to find the appropriate SVM’s parameters,and its acceptable performance to deal with feature selection problem.

Currently, online Shopping platforms have grown significantly, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. This condition motivates the need for analyzing how the users/customers' opinions on using such platform. Sentiment analysis, as a process of detecting, extracting, and classifying users' opinions and attitudes toward specific topics, is a good tool for the required analysis. This study aims to evaluate the performance of machine learning approach which combined with N-Gram technique in doing sentiment analysis. The dataset used in this study comes from scraping reviews in Bahasa Indonesia regarding the Shopee Apps. In this study, N=2 for the N-Gram was employed in the preprocessing process. Our main goal is to investigate whether the performance of machine learning in doing sentiment analysis can be improved by adding the N-Gram technique in its preprocessing. This work applied the Naive Bayes Classifier and k-Nearest Neighbor with K=11 as the machine learning algorithms. The best accuracy in this study was achieved by Naive Bayes Classifier after applying N-Gram Terms (N=2) with Split Validation (8:2), which is 97.26%. © 2023 IEEE.
