Modeling the Percentage of NEET in Indonesia with Spatial Cauchy Regression through the Bayesian Analysis Approach

Indonesia has entered a period of demographic bonus. Human resources must be optimized. The number of children who do not in employment, education or training (NEET) in each province needs attention. Several factors that could contribute to the decline in the NEET percentage are literacy rates and the number of adolescents with computer skills. Increasing these two factors is believed to be able to reduce the percentage of NEET in every province in Indonesia. To find out the relationship between these two factors and how much influence they have on the percentage of NEET, this research is modeled by Cauchy regression and includes spatial effects. The results of the analysis show that the best model is when the spatial effect is modeled by Fernandez Steel Skew Normal conditionally autoregressive (FSSN CAR). This result is seen from the smallest value of the Watanabe Akaike Information Criterion (WAIC) in this model, which is 190.5. The parameter estimated shows that the higher the literacy rate and the number of adolescents with computer skills, the lower the percentage of NEET in each province in Indonesia. The results of this research can be useful for the Indonesian government to increase the number of educational facilities related to these two factors. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). It can be argued that the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) used in this research is an efficient algorithm for classifying images based on the end prediction of the path taken. In every plot that is made, there is a similar process for achieving a prediction of the final result. The implementation for each of these procedures follows the steps that are summarized into a flow of analysis stages that can help to develop the application of an algorithm. The initial stage is to take the handwriting from the user which is then pre-processed the image, to eliminate existing noise, and sharpen the contrast, so that the image can be seen clearly. Images will be processed and analyzed using the Convolutional Neural Network model, training will be carried out, with an average training of a dataset of 100 epochs or about 7 to 10 minutes, and labeling on the trained dataset. The accuracy of the training reached 98.89%, as a proportion of the different characteristics of the handwriting sample. © 2023 IEEE.

This study scrutinizes five years of Sarajevo's Air Quality Index (AQI) data using diverse machine learning models - Fourier autoregressive integrated moving average (Fourier ARIMA), Prophet, and Long short-term memory (LSTM) - to forecast AQI levels. Focusing on various prediction frames, we evaluate model performances and identify optimal strategies for different temporal granularities. Our research unveils subtle insights into each model's efficacy, shedding light on their strengths and limitations in predicting AQI across varied timeframes. This research presents a robust framework for automatic optimization of AQI predictions, emphasizing the influence of temporal granularity on prediction accuracy, automatically selecting the most efficient models and parameters. These insights hold significant implications for data-driven decision-making in urban air quality control, paving the way for proactive and targeted interventions to improve air quality in Sarajevo and similar urban environments. © 2024 IEEE.

Creating programming questions that are both meaningful and educationally relevant is a critical task in computer science education. This paper introduces a fine-tuned GPT4o-mini model (C2Q). It is designed to generate meaningful questions by leveraging semantic feature extraction and well- crafted prompts. The approach addresses the limitations of traditional generative models, offering a deeper understanding of programming code and producing questions that are precise, diverse, and relevant to a given code snippets. The proposed framework incorporates essential code elements, such as control structures and method attributes, to generate questions that align with programming concepts. Evaluation metrics used were BLEU, ROUGE-1, and ROUGE-L to evaluate the model's performance. The findings reveal that the model achieves better structural coherence and conceptual relevance while focusing on contextual understanding over exact term matching. This work highlights the potential of the proposed approach to advance teaching and assessment methods in computer science. © 2024 IEEE.

Kindergarten education has a very important role in shaping the foundation of child development. For parents, see reports on the achievement of children's development at school through the results of each semester's assessment. The process of preparing teacher assessments uses 4 types of assessments, one of which is anecdotal record assessment. However, teachers experience problems in analyzing the topics in children's anecdotal notes so that the results become less clear. In addition, it is still done manually so it takes a long time to analyze. Assessment of children's anecdotal notes is an assessment in the form of a record of events that occur to children while at school. Anecdotal notes are in the form of text data, therefore this research aims to find out the topics in children's anecdotal notes data by utilizing topic modeling using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) method. The children's anecdotal notes data is used as one dataset with a total of 276 collected directly from YBPK Sidorejo Kindergarten, after which data preprocessing is carried out in the form of case folding, remove punctuation, tokenizing, stopwords, and stemming. In the LDA topic modeling research using the Gensim library, 5 experiments were carried out by determining the number of different iterations, and displaying a range of 2-10 topics for each experiment. Analysis and evaluation using coherence score to determine the optimal number of topics by looking at the highest coherence score value in the experiment conducted. The analysis results in 3 topics with a coherence score of 0.4704 and 40 iterations or passes. © 2024 IEEE.

An imbalanced dataset often challenges machine learning, particularly classification methods. Underrepresented minority classes can result in biased and inaccurate models. The Synthetic Minority Over-Sampling Technique (SMOTE) was developed to address the problem of imbalanced data. Over time, several weaknesses of the SMOTE method have been identified in generating synthetic minority class data, such as overlapping, noise, and small disjuncts. However, these studies generally focus on only one of SMOTE’s weaknesses: noise or overlapping. Therefore, this study addresses both issues simultaneously by tackling noise and overlapping in SMOTE-generated data. This study proposes a combined approach of filtering, clustering, and distance modification to reduce noise and overlapping produced by SMOTE. Filtering removes minority class data (noise) located in majority class regions, with the k-nn method applied for filtering. The use of Noise Reduction (NR), which removes data that is considered noise before applying SMOTE, has a positive impact in overcoming data imbalance. Clustering establishes decision boundaries by partitioning data into clusters, allowing SMOTE with modified distance metrics to generate minority class data within each cluster. This SMOTE clustering and distance modification approach aims to minimize overlap in synthetic minority data that could introduce noise. The proposed method is called “NR-Clustering SMOTE,” which has several stages in balancing data: (1) filtering by removing minority classes close to majority classes (data noise) using the k-nn method;(2) clustering data using K-means aims to establish decision boundaries by partitioning data into several clusters;(3) applying SMOTE oversampling with Manhattan distance within each cluster. The e-Iearning system or distance learning system has become important, especially during the COVID-19 pan-demic. Several tertiary institutions have made the e-Iearning system an alternative teaching and learning activity. Research on the use of e-Iearning needs to be explored to obtain innovative, creative, and fun learning. One aspect that can be examined in e-learning is students' emotional response to the learning activities. The emotional state of students directly or indirectly affects the learning process. The student's emotional responses can be measured by their facial expressions. In this study, an exploration was carried out on the facial expressions shown by students in HSS Learning, an e-Iearning for learning web programming. The student's facial expressions were extracted using 68 pairs of facial landmarks and additional 6 facial feature vectors. The total number of features used is 142. Machine learning methods for classification are applied to determine the performance of several classification models, including the k-Nearest Neighbor (k- NN) algorithm, Logistic Regression, and Support Vector Machine (SVM). Machine learning performance evaluation is done using the Fl-score and confusion matrix. The results show that the accuracy of the k-NN, Logistic Regression, and SVM are 91.4%, 92.2%, and 92.1 %, respectively. However, the Fl-score macro values are relatively low due to data imbalance with the k- NN, Logistic Regression, and SVM models are 0.250, 0.272, and 0.243, respectively. While the study provides insight into the student learning experience in e-Iearning settings, this study needs to be explored more. © 2024 IEEE.

In light of this unmistakable exponential data expansion, visual media archiving must be rethought. Human generated meta-data might not be sufficient for efficient data retrieval. Object detection and object recognition enable the generation of computer-generated meta data that improve the storage and retrieval of data. We present a semi-automated approach for preserving video footage that combines object identification and ontologies. This significantly cuts down on search time, data scrubbing by providing only the relevant information making for more efficient queries. © 2023 IEEE.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder with an increasing prevalence among the elderly, making early and accurate diagnosis critical for effective intervention and management. This paper introduces an end-to-end machine learning pipeline optimized for detecting AD using multimodal data from the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI). The study proposes an ensemble model that integrates key modalities—demographics, cognitive scores, neuropsychological assessments, and MRI data—via early fusion to enhance AD detection. Various machine learning models, including Logistic Regression, Gradient Boosting, AdaBoost, XGBoost, Support Vector Machine, and Neural Networks, are compared, and feature selection is optimized through Recursive Feature Elimination, ANOVA F-value, and mutual information methods, with mutual information showing the most efficacy. With further hyperparameter tuning, the highest accuracy is achieved at 95.85%, with Gradient Boosting as the top-performing model. Additional experiments assess and evaluate individual modality contributions, underscoring the predictive value of cognitive scores and neuropsychological features. To enhance clinical interpretability, we incorporate model explainability using LIME and SHAP, which identify key features influencing model predictions across different AD stages. Explainable AI (XAI) is essential in healthcare for providing transparency and supporting clinician confidence by highlighting which biomarkers, such as MMSE, CDRSB, and PTAU, contribute most to diagnostic outcomes. This study demonstrates classical machine learning's potential in AD diagnostics, offering a pathway to cost-effective and clinically viable models for neurodegenerative disease management. © 2025 IEEE.
