A search is presented for photonic signatures, motivated by generalized models of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking. This search makes use of proton-proton collision data at s=13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb−1 recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC, and it explores models dominated by both strong and electroweak production of supersymmetric partner states. Experimental signatures incorporating an isolated photon and significant missing transverse momentum are explored. These signatures include events with an additional photon or additional jet activity not associated with any specific underlying quark flavor. No significant excess of events is observed above the Standard Model prediction, and 95% confidence-level upper limits of between 0.083 and 0.32 fb are set on the visible cross section of contributions from physics beyond the Standard Model. These results are interpreted in terms of lower limits on the masses of gluinos, squarks, and gauginos in the context of generalized models of gauge-mediated supersymmetry, which reach as high as 2.3 TeV for strongly produced and 1.3 TeV for weakly produced supersymmetric partner pairs.

High Performance Computing (HPC) aggregates computing power in order to solve large and complex problems in different knowledge areas. Nowadays, HPC users can utilize virtualized infrastructures as a low-cost alternative to deploy their applications. However, virtualization brings some challenges for HPC, specially in regard to overhead caused by hyper visors. In this work, our main goal is to analyze the performance of two hyper visors (KVM and Virtual Box) under HPC activities, considering full virtualization, and Para virtualization approaches. We used the HPC Challenge Benchmark (HPCC) to evaluate processor, RAM, inter-process communication and network communication performance. Our results show KVM in Para virtualization mode has a similar performance of a native cluster.

We introduce a Horn description logic called Horn-DL, which is strictly and essentially richer than Horn-RegI, Horn-SHIQ and Horn-SROIQ, while still has PTime data complexity. In comparison with Horn-SROIQ, Horn-DL additionally allows the universal role and assertions of the form irreflexives, ¬s(a, b), a∗b. More importantly, in contrast to all the well-known Horn fragments EL, DL-Lite, DLP, Horn-SHIQ, and Horn-SROIQ of description logics, Horn-DL allows a form of the concept constructor "universal restriction" to appear at the left hand side of terminological inclusion axioms. Namely, a universal restriction can be used in such places in conjunction with the corresponding existential restriction. We develop the first algorithm with PTime data complexity for checking satisfiability of Horn-DL knowledge bases. © 2015 Elsevier B.V.

This research deals with the comparison of the two modern approaches for evolutionary algorithms, which are the adaptivity and complex chaotic dynamics. This paper aims on the investigations on the chaos-driven Differential Evolution (DE) concept. This paper is aimed at the embedding of discrete dissipative chaotic systems in the form of chaotic pseudo random number generators for the DE and comparing the influence to the performance with the state of the art adaptive representative jDE. This research is focused mainly on the possible disadvantages and advantages of both compared approaches. Repeated simulations for Lozi map driving chaotic systems were performed on the simple benchmark functions set, which are more close to the real optimization problems. Obtained results are compared with the canonical not-chaotic and not adaptive DE. Results show that with used simple test functions, the performance of ChaosDE is better in the most cases than jDE and Canonical DE, furthermore due to the unique sequencing in CPRNG given by the hidden chaotic dynamics, thus better and faster selection of unique individuals from population, ChaosDE is faster.

Complex networks from scopes like Sociology or Biology are exist in many e-science data sets. Mostly we need to computational algorithms for dealing with networks. For Example, detecting characteristic patterns, network motifs or problem involving sub-graph mining and graph isomorphism. In this paper, we provide a review and runtime comparison of current popular motif identification algorithms. We will categorize the algorithms outlining the major differences and each strategy's advantages;and finally execute current strategies in the same platform on Bioinformatic applications and compare the results. A search is presented for the direct pair production of the stop, the supersymmetric partner of the top quark, that decays through an R-parity-violating coupling to a final state with two leptons and two jets, at least one of which is identified as a b-jet. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of s=13 TeV, collected in 2015 and 2016 by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. No significant excess is observed over the Standard Model background, and exclusion limits are set on stop pair production at a 95% confidence level. Lower limits on the stop mass are set between 600 GeV and 1.5 TeV for branching ratios above 10% for decays to an electron or muon and a b-quark.

A search for the supersymmetric partners of quarks and gluons (squarks and gluinos) in final states containing hadronic jets and missing transverse momentum, but no electrons or muons, is presented. The data used in this search were recorded in 2015 and 2016 by the ATLAS experiment in s=13 TeV proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb−1. The results are interpreted in the context of various models where squarks and gluinos are pair produced and the neutralino is the lightest supersymmetric particle. An exclusion limit at the 95% confidence level on the mass of the gluino is set at 2.03 TeV for a simplified model incorporating only a gluino and the lightest neutralino, assuming the lightest neutralino is massless. For a simplified model involving the strong production of mass-degenerate first- and second-generation squarks, squark masses below 1.55 TeV are excluded if the lightest neutralino is massless. These limits substantially extend the region of supersymmetric parameter space previously excluded by searches with the ATLAS detector.

The medieval Church of Zelemér was located in the Great Hungarian Plain, approximately 200 km to the east of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Nowadays, only the ruins of the church exist and there is no accurate description about the original building. The place and the church itself have religious and historical importance, its ruins and surroundings are frequently visited by tourists. There have been several discussions about a reconstruction of the building. In this paper, a three-dimensional visualization of the church is presented which has been developed in the Virtual Collaboration Arena (VirCA).

Indonesia has participated in the IOI since 1995 and has achieved 2 golds, 16 silvers, and 24 bronzes so far. A national report published in Olympiad in informatics, 2010, Vol. 4 has covered the experience between 1995 and 2010. As a follow on, this article describes significant progress in the Indonesian Olympiad in informatics (abbreviated as OKI in Indonesian) since 2010. The progress was driven by clearer structure of stakeholders and processes, updates on national curriculum, the establishment of national contest management system and more active alumni involvement which supports a more stable performance for OKI team (abbreviated as TOKI in Indonesian) in IOI. We analyze briefly each progression which might be relevant to other countries facing similar challenges. © 2014 Vilnius University, IOI.
