The goal of the project we describe in this paper was the cloud computer environment establishment for biomedical data processing services using a security access. The relevant cloud application for user interactive interaction with biomedical data were realized on .NET Framework technology platform by the help of rapid calculating by FPGA technology. Interconnection of these technologies allows a large spectrum of users to quick access to pre-evaluated biomedical data. This article discusses the possible topological solutions and implementation of that system. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

We show that the maximum number of different square substrings in unrooted labelled trees behaves much differently than in words. A substring in a tree corresponds (as its value) to a simple path. Let be the maximum number of different square substrings in a tree of size n. We show that asymptotically is strictly between linear and quadratic orders, for some constants c 1,c 2 > 0 we obtain: c1n4/3 ≤ sq(n) ≤ c2n4/3. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

A search for the decays of the Higgs and Z bosons to J/ψγ and ϒ(nS)γ (n=1,2,3) is performed with pp collision data samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 20.3 fb−1 collected at s=8 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. No significant excess of events is observed above expected backgrounds and 95% C.L. upper limits are placed on the branching fractions. In the J/ψγ final state the limits are 1.5×10−3 and 2.6×10−6 for the Higgs and Z boson decays, respectively, while in the ϒ(1S,2S,3S)γ final states the limits are (1.3,1.9,1.3)×10−3 and (3.4,6.5,5.4)×10−6, respectively.

A measurement of the Higgs boson mass is presented based on the combined data samples of the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the CERN LHC in the H→γγ and H→ZZ→4ℓ decay channels. The results are obtained from a simultaneous fit to the reconstructed invariant mass peaks in the two channels and for the two experiments. The measured masses from the individual channels and the two experiments are found to be consistent among themselves. The combined measured mass of the Higgs boson is mH=125.09±0.21 (stat)±0.11 (syst) GeV.

With the number of in-vehicle information systems and the complexity of their tasks growing at a very high rate in near future, we need a clear understanding of their related distraction or mental workload and its impact on driver performance. Thus, in this paper we introduce these concepts already in the development phase of a product that will be used in an in-vehicle environment. We present the IC-DEEP (In-Car Ergonomics Evaluation Platform), which is an implementation approach in form of a Serious Game (SG) to autonomously assess, under low-time and low-cost conditions, the factors that can jeopardize the driving performance when manipulating or receiving information from in-vehicle information systems (IVISs). We evaluate the feasibility of the proposed approach and draw conclusions on its effects on behavioral changes and IVIS assessment.

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were coated first with methylene blue (MB) by noncovalent adsorption and then by horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and glucose oxidase (GOD) by covalent-linking. The MB-MWNTs/GOD/HRP composites formed stable films on screen-printed electrodes (SPE). The electrochemical and electrocatalytic behaviors of the bienzyme modified SPE were studied using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and amperometry. Using the MB-MWNT/GOD/HRP composites, glucose could be calibrated by amperometry at -0.35 V vs. SCE. The optimized response (at pH 7.0) had a sensitivity of 2.4 mA.M-1 and a limit of detection (3xS/N) of 35 mu M. Tests of the portable bienzyme sensor demonstrate its imperviousness to the effects of ascorbic acid, uric acid and p-acetaminophen, as well as its ability to measure glucose concentrations ranging from 0.25 to 2 mM.

Project "Towards the better software metrics tool" is a bilateral project between Slovenia and Serbia. It was supported by Ministries of sciences of both countries. The main goal of this project was to detect the main difficulties in application of software metrics in practice and to deal with them by development of a more useful software metrics tool. Additional goal is establishment of origin for extension of this tool to support metric based software evolution. Motivation, goals and current results of the project were presented in several international conferences.

Integrating a large number of embedded memories in System-on-Chips (SoC's) occupies up to more than 70% of the die size, thus requiring Built-In Self-Test (BIST) with the smallest possible area overhead. This paper analyzes MATS++(6N), March C-(10N), March SR(14N), and March CL(12N) test algorithms and shows that they cannot detect either Write Disturb Faults (WDFs) or Deceptive Read Destructive Faults (DRDFs) or both. Therefore to improve fault detection, an automation program is developed based on sequence operation (SQ) generation rules. However after solving the undetected fault, the outcome in term of its detection result of Static Double Cell Faults using the specified test algorithm especially Transition Coupling Faults (CFtrs), Write Destructive Coupling Faults (CFwds), Read Destructive Coupling Faults (CFrds) and Deceptive Read Destructive Faults (CFdrds) are observed. © 2012 IEEE.

In this paper we propose an architecture integrating a multi-agent system and a centralised solution for intelligent traffic light control, aiming at the overall improvement of the network's performance under the cooperative and the adaptive assumptions. Knowing that most decentralised traffic control solutions do not offer direct guarantees on the overall network's performance, we propose the inclusion of a higher-level agent responsible for the analysis of the entire network performance from a macroscopic perspective. This agent will then communicate with traffic light controlling agents in order to provide them with useful suggestions based on the globally perceived information. We present a case study in order to evaluate the impact of our proposed architecture as an intelligent traffic management solution.

The problem of evacuating crowded closed spaces, such as discotheques, public exhibition pavilions or concert houses, has become increasingly important and gained attention both from practitioners and from public authorities. A simulation implementation using NetLogo, an agent-based simulation framework that permits the quickly creation of prototypes, is presented. Our aim is to prove that this model developed using NetLogo, albeit simple can be expanded and adapted for fire safety experts test various scenarios and validate the outcome of their design. Some preliminary experiments are carried out, whose results are presented, validated and discussed so as to illustrate their efficiency. Finally, we draw some conclusions and point out ways in which this work can be further extended.
