Coffee is one of the plantation crops that has long been a cultivated plant in Indonesia. The classification of coffee fruit maturity manually still has several weaknesses and requires a long process, has low accuracy and is inconsistent, this is because the determination is made subjectively by coffee farmers. As for the classification of coffee fruit maturity levels automatically, it can be faster with objective determination, therefore the use of image processing is relatively easier, faster, and based on a quantified descriptive assessment to determine coffee maturity. Image Processing is a method used to process or manipulate images in 2-dimensional form. In the classification process, there are many methods used to obtain classification of objects based on training data. One of the algorithms used for the classification process is K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). KNN is a classification technique for objects based on training data that is the closest or has similar characteristics to the object. KNN includes supervised learning algorithms, where the results of the new query instance are classified based on the majority of the categories in K-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN). The finding indicated that class classification of ripe and unripe were 88,24 % and 100% respectively with 93,33% accuracy level.

Mobile Adhoc Networks (MANETs) is an emerging technology in both the industrial and academic research. The major drawback in MANETs is improving the battery capacity. MANETs are dynamic in nature therefore during communication it consumes more energy that reduces the overall energy efficiency of the network. Many past and present researches are concern about this problem. In this paper, Energy Preservation in MANETs using Self-Adaptive Cluster Head Selection with Advanced Genetic Algorithm (EPMSA-CHAG) approach is proposed where the CH selection is performed using two segments;they are initial parameter based on CH selection and Advanced Genetic Algorithm (AGA) based CH selection. At the initial stage the parameters which are considered for the CH selection are node degree, node stability, distance, residual energy, and speed and delivery rate. Using these parameters are the best fit for CH selection is chosen then in order to find the optimal best fit from the best fit calculation, Advanced Genetic Algorithm (AGA). The proposed EPMSA-CHAG approach is simulated using NS2 and the parameters which are considered for the performance analysis are packet delivery rate, energy efficiency, end to end delay, routing overhead and throughput. The methods that are taken for the comparative analysis are HLSPM-CHSR and HAMBO-CHLD. From the results calculated it is proven that the proposed EPMSA-CHAG approach achieved high packet delivery rate, energy efficiency and throughput as well as lower end to end delay and routing overhead when compared with the earlier methods HLSPM-CHSR and HAMBO-CHLD. © 2023 IEEE.

VeRO: Smart home assistant for blind with voice recognition

In daily life, people with visual impairment have difficulty in their activities, especially at home activities. People with visual impairment as of 2017 reached 1.5 percent or around 3.75 million people from the population of Indonesia and more than 253 million people worldwide. The number of blind people who are not small need help to get a good quality of life and independent. Friendly home design for the blind is not yet available specifically. It is a particular difficulty for blind people to access the latest electronic goods or information (news). Then this becomes the basis of this research on how to provide easy access for blind people. This research provides a solution that is designing a prototype of a house that is visually impaired in addition to the use of electronic equipment. This system starts from the microphone as a sensor in charge of picking up sound and then the results are processed by Android and then connected to NodeMCU via Wi-Fi. The microphone used is the default microphone of the Android smart phone. By using the speech recognition method, the command is enough to say the keywords, Android will manage the sound into a code that will be sent to the microcontroller to perform the task. There are several categories of commands that can be handled, including (a) Turning on / off electronic devices, (b) Providing news information from popular news web portals, (c) Entertainment by playing streaming radio and (d) General information on hours and dates. All planned functions are running properly, there are some features that might be developed further. Adding sensitivity to starting voice commands and adding the ability to read long stories can be further research.

Passenger volume forecasting information system for PT. KAI Daop 2 Bandung using double exponential smoothing method

Daop 2 Bandung is one of the Indonesian railroad operations areas, under the administration of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). Daop 2 Bandung is currently experiencing a problem in predicting the number of passenger volumes. It is common for railway transportation services to experience passengers flows that increases or decreases in the volume which in turn causes the service of the PT. KAI becomes less optimum. Therefore, a forecasting information system is needed to forecast the volume of train passengers in the upcoming period. This study applied Double Exponential Smoothing method as a forecasting method. The data used is the number of passenger volume data for two periods, i.e. 2017 and 2018 periods. For forecasting accuracy, PE (Percentage Error) and MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) were used. The passenger volume forecasting results on the Executive Class category shows 946,824 with an error percentage of 11.9962%, the Business Class category shows 221,188 results with an error percentage of 21.6714%, and the Economy Class category shows 5,144,074 with an error percentage of 10.4366%.

Effective preprocessed thin blood smear images to improve malaria parasite detection using deep learning

Malaria can be difficult to detect from thin blood smears. Image recognition methods such as convolutional neural network can be used to detect malaria, but the training process takes a long time. Previous research created a new architecture and compares it to several other architectures such as VGG-16 and ResNet. The effect of preprocessing is analyzed in this research. VGG-16, ResNet, and the custom architecture created by the previous research are being used in this study. The preprocessing methods being analyzed in this research include gray-world normalization and comprehensive normalization. The highest accuracy improvement per epoch (0.5256% using ResNet-50 and 0.0352% using custom architecture) is achieved through gray-world normalization, that also improves final accuracy (90.1% using ResNet-50 and 93.1% using custom architecture) when compared to other methods with the same epochs for ResNet and custom architecture.

The application of technology in the world of education can affect the quality of students in understanding learning material because technology is one of the important elements to assist in the teaching and learning process. One educational application that can be developed is Augmented Reality (AR) technology. AR is one of the learning media that can be used to combine virtual objects or objects into a real environment with the virtual world to be able to interact in realtime. English is a foreign language that must be mastered. In learning English, students need to be given adequate vocabulary learning that can be provided through reading or listening activities. The importance of adequate vocabulary in English to support the smoothness of oral communication, where there are 2 things that inhibit the ineffectiveness of oral communication namely students do not have adequate vocabulary mastery and do not know how to use vocabulary in their spoken language. Effective and interactive learning media will facilitate students in learning vocabulary. This research an instructional media based on augmented reality vocabulary cards will be made for learning English vocabulary. Learning English vocabulary developed is a basic vocabulary consisting of object recognition and greeting. The learning media will display real objects and sounds, so that the object looks real and the ease of pronunciation of English consonants correctly.

The number of Islamic boarding school teaching both Information Technology (IT) Education and Religious Education is still limited. Vocational High School of Information Technology Annajiyah located in Tambakberas, Jombang, East Java is a school having both subjects taught. The existence of Vocational High School of Information Technology Annajiyah has not been widely known by outside and inside society of Jombang Regency. Therefore, Therefore, analysis of the use of SEO is necessary to determine the potential of website visit and school promotion. Previously, Vocational High School of Information Technology Annajiyah promoted school by using brochures only. This method was considered able to introduce the school through traditional way. Analysis result of improving SEO can be seen in Google Analytic recorded a number of site visits amounted 403 in June, where 82.2% of active users are dominated by mobile phone users and fluctuation of the number of visits. This increase is affected by both the implementation of SEO and online PPDB process during the COVID pandemic.

Many industrial and engineering problems are transformed into optimization problems and solved using various numerical based methods. One of the frequently used method is the Steepest descent algorithm which converge to the solution in only one iteration, given the current point and provided the quadratic function is positive definite. However, this method is not suitable for large scale functions because of lack of gradient information and high computational cost. This study aims to suggest a new conjugate gradient algorithm for motion control of robotic manipulators and unconstrained optimization models. The convergence result of the new algorithm would be discussed under some suitable conditions. Computational simulations are carried out on the discrete-time kinematics equation of a two-joint planar robot manipulator to illustrates the efficiency of the algorithm. The algorithm was further extended to unconstrained optimization problems in addition to motion control of robotic manipulators. Preliminary results prove that the new algorithm is efficient compared to the existing CG algorithm. The comparisons are made using the set of 50 standard benchmark functions including number of iterations and CPU time. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Some disabilities caused by sensory malfunction, accident, or congenital disorder could cause people difficulty in grasping the computer mouse. A well-known substitute uses an inertial sensor to monitor the body's orientation. This paper evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of different methods of holding the sensor. There are two modes of holding the sensor, the grasping mode and the attached mode;we also evaluate a mouse as a baseline. The attached mode works by placing the sensor on the back of user's hand. The quantitative and qualitative evaluation procedure is based on ISO/TS 9241 part 411: Ergonomics of human-system interaction standard. The test consists of four levels of difficulty and indicates that the throughput and task completion times were not statistically different between grasping and attached mode. We also found that grasping mode and attached mode did not show significantly statistical differences in comfort and fatigue based on the questionnaires. The results also suggest that the orientation of the hand used in grasping and attached modes is suitable only for lower-impact computer use. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The 2013 curriculum requires teachers to be more productive, creative, and innovative in encouraging students to be more independent by strengthening attitudes, skills and knowledge. Teachers are given the options to create lesson plan according to the environment and conditions of their students. At the junior level, Core Competence (KI) and Basic Competence (KD) have been completely designed. In addition, there had already guidebooks, both for teacher manuals (Master's Books) and for learners (Student Books). The lesson plan and guidebooks which already exist are intended only for learning in the classroom/in-school. Many alternative classrooms and alternatives learning models opened up using educational technology. The advance of educational technology opened opportunity for combination of class interaction using mobile learning applications. Mobile learning has rapidly evolved in education for the last ten years and many initiatives have been conducted worldwide. However, few of these efforts have produced any lasting outcomes. It is evident that mobile education applications are complex and hence, will not become sustainable. Long-term sustainability remains a risk. Long-term sustainability usually was resulted from continuous adaptation to changing conditions [4]. Frameworks are therefore required to avoid sustainability pitfalls. The implementation should start from simple environment then gradually become complex through adaptation steps. Therefore, our paper developed the framework of mobile learning (m-learning) adaptation for grade 7th (junior high school). The environment setup was blended mobile learning (not full mobile learning) and emphasize on Algebra. The research is done by R&D method (research and development). Results of the framework includes requirements and adaptation steps.
