Objective: Ictal stage detection in electroencephalography (EEG) is important for epilepsy diagnosis. However, it's a laborious and time-consuming task for neurologists, especially with lengthy EEG recordings (such as video-EEG). Here we applied the current deep learning techniques to improve ictal stage detection efficiency. Methods: We enrolled epileptic patients at video-EEG examination beds of our neurology department between Jan 2016 and Apr 2020. Four stages of EEG (interictal, preictal, ictal and postictal) were labeled and confirmed by neurologists. Labeled EEG signals were transformed into second-order Poincaré difference plots. The whole dataset was divided into ‘Training’, ‘Validation’ and ‘Testing’ datasets with the proportions of 45%, 5% and 50% respectively. We applied 4 Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), namely, AlexNet, GoogLeNet, ResNet50 and DenseNet201, to learn classifying. The top three CNNs were put into an ensemble model for datasets classification. Results: 30 epileptic patients were included: Male/Female 16/14, mean age 42.8 ± 15.0 (range 22 ∼ 81) years old. Total recorded ictal duration was 47,444 s. Overall accuracies for each of the 4 CNN models (AlexNet, GoogLeNet, ResNet50 and DenseNet201) were 78.0%, 78.3%, 81.7% and 80.8%. We omitted the AlexNet, the other 3 CNNs were put into the ensemble model. The best performance was under test with 1% of the Testing dataset yielded the overall accuracies of 85.9%. The ictal stage accuracy was 97.7%. Conclusion: Our method is a promising computer-aid deep learning approach to detect seizures on video EEG. Significance: For testing phase, selected proportion of testing dataset may influence the performances of deep learning models. © 2022 The Author(s)

The increasing use of IoT devices on future networks is very helpful for humans in their lives. However, the increase in devices connected to IoT networks also increases the potential for attacks against those networks. Vulnerabilities in Internet of Things (IoT) networks can be exposed at any time. Artificial intelligence can be used to protect the IoT network by being able to detect attacks on the network so that they can be prevented. In this study, network detection was carried out using the Deep Neural Network (DNN) algorithm. The test was carried out using the UNSW Bot-IoT dataset with a comparison of training data of 75% of the overall data. The results obtained show the ability of the algorithm to detect attacks on average with 99.999% accuracy. The validation loss and training loss look very small. In this study, there is a validation loss that still occurs in overfitting, but the difference is very small.

Since the emergence of COVID-19, discussions of ongoing pandemic-related research have accounted for an unprecedented share of media coverage and debate in the public sphere1. The urgency of the pandemic forced researchers to operate on an accelerated timeline, as both policymakers and the public relied on the most current evidence to guide their decisions and behaviors. With high demand for rapid pandemic-related insights and lower barriers to entry via preprint servers, the volume of COVID-19 articles skyrocketed2. The pressing need for research triggered the participation of many researchers with expertise in the science of infectious disease outbreaks (‘outbreak scientists’), who were joined by researchers from other disciplines (‘bellwethers’) and more junior researchers still in training (‘newcomers’) with the common goal of advancing the frontiers of pandemic science and informing policy decisions3. Dynamic programming is a fundamental algorithm that can be found in our daily lives easily. One of the dynamic programming algorithm implementations consists of solving the 0/1 knapsack problem. A 0/1 knapsack problem can be seen from industrial production cost. It is prevalent that a production cost has to be as efficient as possible, but the expectation is to get the proceeds of the products higher. Thus, the dynamic programming algorithm can be implemented to solve the diverse knapsack problem, one of which is the 0/1 knapsack problem, which would be the main focus of this paper. The implementation was implemented using C language. This paper was created as an early implementation algorithm using a Dynamic program algorithm applied to an Automatic Identification System (AIS) dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

YouTube is a widely-used platform in Indonesia, with 93.8% of its users. As such, it presents a valuable opportunity for marketing tourist destinations, particularly in Riau province, which aims to become Indonesia’s top Halal travel destination. Tourism is a vital contributor to the economic growth of regions, and each province in Indonesia competes to promote its tourist attractions to attract more visitors every year. However, the large volume of data can challenge the manual analysis of feedback from YouTube’s features, such as likes, dislikes, and comments. A literature review suggests that the Naive Bayes algorithm, which uses machine learning, is helpful for sentiment analysis. Therefore, this study aims to analyze public sentiment toward tourist destinations in Riau province by analyzing YouTube comments using the Naïve Bayes algorithm. The study used 1680 opinions collected from 10 YouTube videos showcasing tourist destinations in Riau. The Naive Bayes algorithm classified 60% of the comments as positive, 32% as neutral, and 8% as negative. The experimental results indicated an accuracy and precision of 73%, a recall of 94%, and an F-1 Score of 82%. The study used the word frequency technique to reveal that Riau could become a popular halal tourist destination based on several frequently occurring words in the comments.

In this pre-research, this is an initial study using LiDAR to detect weather conditions in real time. In 5G communication, the opportunity to use an integrated IoT connection is given because the path is used, one of which is millimeter wave. This is applied to disaster conditions, namely flood and landslide detection. Data obtained briefly within one month in data processing needs to be added so that the real sensor power is obtained in the outdoor position because the sensor is used as needed. LiDAR has problems when used in rainy conditions which form polarization scattering or light scattering is formed by moving raindrops, especially when the rain is getting heavier. The position of LiDAR in this study is able to detect sunny conditions with an available level of 97.99% and rain outage is still 0.3%, this in heavy rainy conditions needs further research.

This study aims to develop a product such as "Digital storytelling of Physics (DiS-Phy)" that can be used as a physics’ educational media for distance learning (PJJ) on magnetic field material. DiS-Phy developed as a digital storytelling media which is able to combine several learning media such as writing, pictures and learning videos in one medium. The developed DiS-Phy also equipped with scientific literacy questions. DiS-Phy can be accessed on all types of distance learning devices such as smartphones, laptops and tablets that are connected to the internet. DiS-Phy including the type of research and development (Research & Development) which refers to the ASSURE model. The result of validation test shows the percentages of 91,07%, according to subject-matter expert, 93,16%, according to media expert and 87,50% according to learning expert. DiS-Phy also tested by 4 physics teachers at senior high school in Jakarta that achieved 92,57% points that make this product has been qualified as a worthy physics’ distance learning device. Also of 35 as respondents in this study shows the percentages of 87,48% points that make this product worthy to use as an educational media. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the DiS-Phy has been qualified as a worthy physics’ distance learning device for teachers and students. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. This study focuses on the exergy analysis of the fish waste drying system using a rotary dryer. The effect of the initial mass of fish waste on the exergy parameters was carried out. The exergy balance was applied in the drying chamber. The exergy parameters analyzed include exergy inflow, exergy outflow, exergy loss, and exergy efficiency. In terms of exergy sustainability, the sustainability index, environmental impact factor, waste energy ratio, and improvement potential were also analyzed. As a result, it was found that the exergy inflow for all initial masses was not significantly different. Meanwhile, if the fish waste’s initial mass is decreasing, the exergy outflow and exergy efficiency increase, and exergy loss decrease. The sustainability index decreases, and the environmental impact factor increases with increasing initial mass. Waste energy ratio and improvement potential increase with increasing initial mass.

This paper presents a practical methodology for optimizing the geometry of electrical grounding grids at industrial frequencies of 50Hz and 60Hz, integrating advanced calculation techniques and evolutionary algorithms to improve the safety and operational performance of electrical grounding systems. The proposed approach is particularly beneficial for industrial automation and control systems, where effective grounding is necessary to maintain system reliability and prevent downtime. This methodology employs mathematical modeling and computational tools to optimize grid parameters, ensuring compliance with safety standards while reducing operational costs, thus contributing to the overall efficiency of automated systems in industrial environments. The study reports a reduction of up to 66% in the number of vertical rods and 40% in horizontal conductors compared to traditional methods. These results indicate that the proposed methodology can significantly reduce material usage and costs while maintaining electrical safety in accordance with regulatory standards, making it applicable to a wide range of industrial settings, including substations and automated facilities. © 2025 The Authors

Facing the 4.0 industrial revolution, it is necessary to carry out reforms and innovations related to national education. Reforms and innovations in the implementation of components of the education system involve changes in curriculum, graduate competencies and assessments, teacher qualifications, funding, facilities and infrastructure, decentralization and educational autonomy. Bali as a world tourist destination must be maintained and passed on to the younger generation. The younger generation can use information technology to help promote Balinese culture. Bali has a lot of local wisdom that can be implemented in the tourism sector. Therefore to promote those local wisdoms, a module that can be accessed through e-learning is developed to help students develop a cultural tourism package based on local wisdom to be promoted online. The modules developed have been tested by content and media experts, which can be used independently by students. Modules can be accessed online at e-learning and they are ready to use instructions for students so they can work on assignments and projects independently. Modules containing this theory and practice are for making brochures, tour packages, videos, and websites, all of which are connected to promote tourism based on local Balinese wisdom. © 2020 IOP Publishing Ltd.
