Measurements of inclusive and differential production cross-sections of a top-quark-top-antiquark pair in association with a W boson (tt¯W) are presented. They are performed by targeting final states with two same-sign or three isolated leptons (electrons or muons) and are based on s = 13 TeV proton-proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb⁻¹, recorded from 2015 to 2018 with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The inclusive tt¯W production cross-section is measured to be 880 ± 80 fb, compared to a reference theoretical prediction of 745 ± 50 (scale) ± 13 (2-loop approx.) ± 19 (PDF, α_s) fb. Differential cross-section measurements characterise this process in detail for the first time. Several particle-level observables are compared with a variety of theoretical predictions, which generally agree well with the normalised differential cross-section results. Additionally, the relative charge asymmetry of tt¯W⁺ and tt¯W⁻ is measured inclusively to be A_C^rel = 0.33 ± 0.05, in very good agreement with the theoretical prediction of 0.322 ± 0.003 (scale) ± 0.007 (PDF), as well as differentially. © The Author(s) 2024.

Scoria cones commonly occur in the lower flank of stratovolcano close to the populated area. This close spatial relationship increases hazardous risk of direct impact of volcanic activities to the people. Therefore, it is necessary to gain more understanding to the formation of scoria cone to better assess the volcanic hazards. We studied Mount Loyang, the furthest scoria cone of Slamet volcano, approximately 14 km from the recent active crater. Quarrying to this scoria cone enables us to observe the interior structure towards the surface as represented by its volcanic rocks sequence. The sequences include 61 layers of voluminous ash and lapilli deposits resembling simultaneous scoria cone formation which attributed with lava effusion on the lower part of the cone. Chemical compositions were gained through ICP-MS-AES analysis including major and 13 trace elements for 17 representative samples yields typical basaltic compositions of SiO2 46.1 to 50.7 wt.% and MgO 5.9 to 7.5 wt.%. Median grain size (MdΦ) and sortation coefficient (δΦ) of −0.4 to −1.85 and 1.025 to 2.35, respectively, suggested for Hawaiian to Strombolian eruption type. In detailed, initial stage composed of bomb rich (size range 10 to 30 cm) embedded in ash materials (Φ scale −2) typical of opening vent stage. Average grain size shows general coarsening upward trend (Φ scale −3 to −5) and suggest for increasing explosive eruptive style. In the late stage, pyroclastic surge deposit typical of phreatomagmatic eruptive style started occur implying for the transition from dry to wet environment. The external water influence might triggered more explosive eruptive style once there is new magma ascend to the surface. We suggest that such eruptive style through a scoria cone need to be integrated into the hazard assessment of a potentially active volcanic area such as that in Slamet volcano.

A search for nonresonant Higgs boson pair production in the bb¯γγ final state is performed using 140 fb⁻¹ of proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. This analysis supersedes and expands upon the previous nonresonant ATLAS results in this final state based on the same data sample. The analysis strategy is optimised to probe anomalous values not only of the Higgs (H) boson self-coupling modifier κ_λ but also of the quartic HHVV (V = W, Z) coupling modifier κ_2V. No significant excess above the expected background from Standard Model processes is observed. An observed upper limit μ_HH < 4.0 is set at 95% confidence level on the Higgs boson pair production cross-section normalised to its Standard Model prediction. The 95% confidence intervals for the coupling modifiers are −1.4 < κ_λ < 6.9 and −0.5 < κ_2V < 2.7, assuming all other Higgs boson couplings except the one under study are fixed to the Standard Model predictions. The results are interpreted in the Standard Model effective field theory and Higgs effective field theory frameworks in terms of constraints on the couplings of anomalous Higgs boson (self-)interactions. © The Author(s) 2024.

Nowadays major interest in the field of Dynamic Telecytology is growing rapidly. The need of the pathologist to analyze the specimens remotely both hardware and software[1][2]. Therefore, authors are trying to do a study to examine the Quality of Service (QoS) feasibility of the Telecytology system using Wireshark, Essential NetTools and Ping Plotter. This research was conducted in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia. There are 2 (two) systems that will be examined for this research. The first system is the Raspberry Pi 2 and WebCam. The second system is the Android smartphone and Universal Microscope Adapter. The purpose of this study is to prove that the Telecytology system can be implemented by displaying images captured by a microscope and displayed at a remote location with an image resolution, frame rate, delay, latency, jitter, throughput and Mean Opinion Score (MOS) are desired and with the expectations as follow : The minimum of the video image resolution is at least 320 × 240 pixels, the best frame rate is 30 fps, the latency is below 400 ms, the packet loss is below 1%. The value of MOS are between 3 and 4, expected to prove that the system is feasible to be applied on Broadband and 3G/4G network in Indonesia. © 2016 IEEE.

The process of continuous landfill in the area of the final disposal (landfill) of waste produces pollutants such as leachate (leachate) is a liquid containing dissolved substances and suspended very fine as a result of waste decomposition by microbes. Leachate water contains decomposing organic materials and heavy metal materials. Heavy metals (Cr, Hg, Pb, Cu, Fe, Mn, Zl, Cl) present in leachate water are from waste that has been disposed to TPA Keudah Kota Banda Aceh. The author would like to do research on the adsorption of heavy metals by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer in landfill leachate Banda Aceh. The purpose of this research is to get the absorption of some heavy metals in the landfill leachate by using AAS analysis method. The results of the analysis in landfill leachate solution Banda Aceh by using Atomic Adsorption Spectrohotometer its highest uptake in heavy metal parameters Iron (Fe) amounted to 10.9191 ppm, and is followed by the parameters of heavy metals (Ni) 0.9820 ppm, ( Zn) 0.4188 ppm, (Co) 0.1698, (Cu) 0.1198 ppm, (Pb) 0.0602 ppm, (Cr) 0.0502 ppm, (Hg), and (Cu) Cd) the results are not detected (ND). Considering that Indonesia in the future is still faced with environmental pollution problem as a result of the development, the restoration and rehabilitation of contaminated land needs to get mutual attention, such as by using dilution method, stabilization, and phytoremdiation technique.

Aims. Mrk 421 was in its most active state around early 2010, which led to the highest TeV gamma-ray flux ever recorded from any active galactic nuclei (AGN). We aim to characterize the multiwavelength behavior during this exceptional year for Mrk 421, and evaluate whether it is consistent with the picture derived with data from other less exceptional years. Methods. We investigated the period from November 5, 2009, (MJD 55140) until July 3, 2010, (MJD 55380) with extensive coverage from very-high-energy (VHE;E > 100 GeV) gamma rays to radio with MAGIC, VERITAS, Fermi-LAT, RXTE, Swift, GASP-WEBT, VLBA, and a variety of additional optical and radio telescopes. We characterized the variability by deriving fractional variabilities as well as power spectral densities (PSDs). In addition, we investigated images of the jet taken with VLBA and the correlation behavior among different energy bands. Results. Mrk 421 was in widely different states of activity throughout the campaign, ranging from a low-emission state to its highest VHE flux ever recorded. We find the strongest variability in X-rays and VHE gamma rays, and PSDs compatible with power-law functions with indices around 1.5. We observe strong correlations between X-rays and VHE gamma rays at zero time lag with varying characteristics depending on the exact energy band. We also report a marginally significant (∼ 3σ) positive correlation between high-energy (HE;E > 100 MeV) gamma rays and the ultraviolet band. We detected marginally significant (∼ 3σ) correlations between the HE and VHE gamma rays, and between HE gamma rays and the X-ray, that disappear when the large flare in February 2010 is excluded from the correlation study, hence indicating the exceptionality of this flaring event in comparison with the rest of the campaign. The factory capacity achievement and the bottleneck reduction of production process at wet-blanket workstations are influenced by the balance of life quality rates and worker's productivity, along with the worker's ability and limitations, tasks, organization and work environment. The life quality of workers is indicated by: the reduction of workload, and fatigue. Meanwhile, work productivity is measured by increasing production results per work shift. The optimization of the quality of life and productivity of workers is achieved by redesigning the system and workstations based on ergonomics integrating Total Ergonomics with Ergo-MicMac (Micro Ergonomics and Macro Ergonomics), which includes redesigning wet-blanket folding worktable, regulating the system pattern of working in pairs, giving official break time, giving extra nutritious intakes such as sweet tea and snack Pempek, giving personal protective equipments, and redesigning physical working *** study was an experimental study, with treatment by subject design involving 30 workers sampled at a workstation condition before and after Ergonomics based redesign. The findings and conclusions of the study were derived from the reduction of the workload by 16.06%, fatigue by 18.84% and the increase of production results per work shift by 20.29%.

Casting and Welding of Aluminium Matrix Composite Materials Reinforced by SiC Particles

Aluminium casting is often done, but for the casting of composite materials base on aluminium is very rare. The purpose of this research is make composite material based on aluminium reinforced by SiC particles by casting. This research method use three different casting molds that are permanent cast, ceramic (chamotte sand / Al2O3-SiO2) molds and sand molds. The best casting product that has a small porosity is the AlMg10Si make of permanent molding. The small porosity effect causes the AlMg10Si material to become harder. The oxy-acetylene welding results show that the AlMg10Si + composite material reinforced by 15% SiC particles, has a fine discontinuity when the liquid penetrant test, which means that very small cracks occur, and potholes result from casting. This composite material has enormous energy to break is 0.94 Joule at impact test.

We reported detailed investigation of the pumiceous deposits reside in the western part of Slamet Volcano that are found as both primary and secondary product. Pyroclastic fall, flow and surge deposits represent those of the primary products, whereas lahar and fluvial deposits represent those of the secondary products. The tephra fall deposits are separated by pyroclastic flow and surge deposits as typical of sub-plinian to plinian eruption type. The secondary deposits of fluvial deposits occurred in between the primary deposits indicating repose time of the explosive events, whereas lahar deposits occurred as the youngest deposits concluding these pumiceous events. Petrographic observation show that pumice deposit is extremely vesicular with various bubble sizes, vitrophyric in texture, and contains subhedral phenocryst of plagioclase, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene, opaque mineral and minor biotite. Chemical compositions of major and trace elements were obtained using ICP-MS-AES. SiO2 range from 58,7 to 63,9 wt.% and classified as andesite to dacite with LOI number range from -0,04 to 3,06. Ratios of incompatible elements (e.g. Ba/Zr, Rb/Zr, Zr/Nb, and Hf/Nb) consistently separate rocks of Old and Young Slamet. In these ratios, pumiceous samples are plotted within the range of Young Slamet implying for genetic relationship. These explosive events are “unique” considering typical recent basaltic activities of Slamet volcano and need to be carefully considered in the volcanic hazard mitigation.

Line-like features in TeV $\gamma$-rays constitute a ''smoking gun'' for TeV-scale particle dark matter and new physics. Probing the Galactic Center region with ground-based Cherenkov telescopes enables the search for TeV spectral features in immediate association with a dense dark matter reservoir at a sensitivity out of reach for satellite $\gamma$-ray detectors, and direct detection and collider experiments. We report on 223 hours of observations of the Galactic Center region with the MAGIC stereoscopic telescope system reaching $\gamma$-ray energies up to 100 TeV. We improved the sensitivity to spectral lines at high energies using large-zenith-angle observations and a novel background modeling method within a maximum-likelihood analysis in the energy domain. No line-like spectral feature is found in our analysis. Therefore, we constrain the cross section for dark matter annihilation into two photons to $\langle \sigma v \rangle \lesssim 5 \times 10^{-28}\,\mathrm{cm^3\,s^{-1}}$ at 1 TeV and $\langle \sigma v \rangle \lesssim 1 \times 10^{-25}\,\mathrm{cm^3\,s^{-1}}$ at 100 TeV, achieving the best limits to date for a dark matter mass above 20 TeV and a cuspy dark matter profile at the Galactic Center. Finally, we use the derived limits for both cuspy and cored dark matter profiles to constrain supersymmetric wino models. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.
