This paper presents a study of and triboson production using events from proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.2 fb . The production cross-section is determined using a final state containing an electron, a muon, a photon, and neutrinos ( ). Upper limits on the production cross-section of the final state and the and final states containing an electron or a muon, two jets, a photon, and a neutrino ( or ) are also derived. The results are compared to the cross-sections predicted by the Standard Model at next-to-leading order in the strong-coupling constant. In addition, upper limits on the production cross-sections are derived in a fiducial region optimised for a search for new physics beyond the Standard Model. The results are interpreted in the context of anomalous quartic gauge couplings using an effective field theory. Confidence intervals at 95% confidence level are derived for the 14 coupling coefficients to which and production are sensitive.

It was found that the non-perturbative corrections calculated using Pythia with the Perugia 2011 tune did not include the effect of the underlying event. The affected correction factors were recomputed using the Pythia 6.427 generator. These corrections are applied as baseline to the NLO pQCD calculations and thus the central values of the theoretical predictions have changed by a few percent with the new corrections. This has a minor impact on the agreement between the data and the theoretical predictions. Figures 2 and 6 to 13, and all the tables have been updated with the new values. A few sentences in the discussion in sections 5.2 and 9 were altered or removed.

Internet traffic classification has a critical role on network monitoring, quality of service, intrusion detection, network security and trend analysis. The conventional port-based method is ineffective due to dynamic port usage and masquerading techniques. Besides, payload-based method suffers from heavy load and encryption. Due to these facts, machine learning based statistical approaches have become the new trend for the network measurement community. In this short paper, we propose a new statistical approach based on DBSCAN clustering and weighted cosine similarity. Our experimental test results show that the proposed approach achieves very high accuracy. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

We evaluated low-impedance power distribution network (PDN) of decoupling capacitor embedded interposers for 3-D integrated LSI system. Measurements are carried out using the developed impedance analyzer system of a wide frequency range for evaluating ultralow impedance, and calculations are carried out using 2.5-D and 3-D finite element method (FEM) electromagnetic field simulator. We fabricated various types of capacitor mounted or capacitor embedded interposers test element group (TEG), such as surface-mounted and embedded chip capacitors, and thin film capacitors on silicon interposers using the same simple design to compare measurement results with calculation ones. As a result, the ultralow impedance evaluation system that has a high measurement dynamic range at the entire measurable frequency band can be realized. Furthermore, by using 2.5-D and 3-D FEM electromagnetic field simulator, it is expected that the accurate and wideband comparative verification of the PDN impedance analysis and evaluation can be realized.

Understanding thread behavior makes multi-threaded programming easier. Thread behavior can be observed by calculating metrics that are driven from thread state changes and time durations spent in those states. This paper presents the design and implementation of a new thread profiler that builds on aspect-oriented programming (AOP) approach and its use on multi-threaded applications. The new profiler differs from existing profilers in that it adopts a metrics based approach, calculating certain metrics for threads profiled. Also presented is a method to retrieve exact time information at the machine level from the JVM context. The paper concludes with a description of results obtained for thread profiling and metric calculations and a comparison of the overhead the profiler introduces with that of other profilers. © 2011 IEEE.
