This study aimed to 1) assess the improvement in problem-solving abilities related to surface area and volume of 3D shapes among students using STAD cooperative learning with GSP compared to Lecture-oriented teaching, and 2) evaluate students' attitudes with the mathematics STAD cooperative learning activities using GSP. The statistical techniques employed in this study included Mean, Standard Deviation, and T-test analysis. The findings of the study indicated that, between the two teaching approaches, students in the STAD cooperative learning environment, integrating GSP interactive digital learning, demonstrated significantly enhanced problem-solving skills. Although both methods exhibited improvement in the post-test, it is apparent that the STAD model of cooperative learning with GSP is more effective than Lecture-oriented teaching when it comes to comprehending the surface area and volume of 3D shapes. Additionally, students expressed high attitudes toward the mathematical learning management approach. © 2024 IEEE.

Computational approach of alpha and proton interaction of gadolinium bismuth borate glass system using SRIM program

The purpose of this research is used to study the alpha and proton shielding characteristics of gadolinium bismuth borate glass with chemical compositions (80-x)B2O3: 5CaF2: 15Bi2O3: xGd2O3 (where × = 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20 mol%). The mass stopping power (MSP) and projected range (PR) have been calculated by SRIM program for the proton and alpha particles. From the calculation, it was found that the proton mass stopping power (PMSP) value and alpha mass stopping power (AMSP) values tended to decrease with increasing Gd2O3 concentration. From the analysis, adding the Gd2O3 content in the glass affects the structure which increase the alpha and proton shielding properties. Likewise, the values of proton projected range (PPR) and alpha projected range (APR) were found to decrease with increasing Gd2O3 content. From the analysis, adding the Gd2O3 content to the glass affect the increase in the alpha and proton shielding properties. These results suggest that gadolinium bismuth borate glass is suitable to develop as alpha and proton shielding materials. © 2022

Mathematical calculation of gamma rays interaction in bismuth gadolinium silicate glass using WinXCom program

The WO3 doped bismuth gadolinium silicate glass have been calculated using WinXCom program at the gamma energy range of 1 keV to 100 GeV in the concentration of WO3 = 0, 10, 20 and 30 mol%. The mass attenuation coefficient, the partial interaction and effective atomic number were investigated. The results of the photoelectric absorption, the μm and the Zeff show the similar trend and the absorption edges were observed at an energy lower than 100 keV. The result can be found the photoelectric absorption at low photon energy, the Compton scattering in the medium photon energy and the pair production effect has the main interaction at high photon energy. Furthermore, the Zeff show increasing the concentration of WO3 the values because of the atomic number of W replacing Si in the glass matrix. © 2022

Teaching STEAM Education and Engineering through Project-Based Learning fosters creativity and innovation among Grade 12 students. The approach involves a structured process with six steps, initiating with problem identification and the collection of information and concepts related to the problem. Subsequently, students move on to the design phase, followed by testing, evaluation, and revision of the solution or workpiece, encapsulated in the stages of Testing, Evaluation, and Design Improvement. The final step culminates in the presentation of solutions. This problem-solving and presentation approach is organized according to the study stream concept, incorporating the engineering design process. The research model employed is classroom action research at Sarasas Witaed Rangsit School, Thailand, during the first semester of the academic year 2023, involving a total of 123 students. The findings demonstrate that the stream-based learning approach, coupled with the engineering design process, effectively stimulates the creativity and innovation of Grade 12 students. Notably, teachers are advised to emphasize the significance of critical situations by introducing challenging conditions for students. The students' analytical skills are evident as they assess the context through brainstorming, design various pieces, plan the implementation process, select appropriate testing methods, evaluate their workpieces, make improvements, and ultimately present and refine their own creations. The results highlight continuous development in students’ creativity and innovation. The most prominent behavioral expression observed throughout the learning process is creative collaborative behavior, while the least expressed behavior is openness and courage to explore.

Chikungunya disease is occurred when the infected Aedes mosquitoes bite. Chikungunya virus is a member of the genus Alphavirus family Togaviridae. There are 2 species of Aedes mosquitoes such as Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. We describe the transmission of the disease by using mathematical model. We separated the populations to human and vector populations. We separate the human population to susceptible, infectious and recovered populations. The mosquitoes are separated into susceptible and infectious populations. Then we analyze the model by using standard dynamical analysis. The numerical solutions are shown to see the stability of each equilibrium state. The variances of each parameter are shown to see the behavior of each population. The basic reproduction number of this disease is shown to reduce the transmission of this disease. © 2022 ACM.

This paper proposes program for solving assignment problems by Hungarian method. Assignment problem is one of the most famous problems in linear programming and in combinatorial optimization. It can be solved by using an efficient method which is called Hangarian method. In this problem, commonly, there are a number of agents and a number of tasks. Any agent can be assigned to perform any task. The objective of this problem is to decide the right agent to perform the right task and also the total cost of the assignment is minimized. The manual calculation is time-consuming and prone to mistake. Therefore, this program can help to find the optimal solution with less time. In this approach, computer programming is used as an implementation tool to get the accurate solutions. This paper presents a new algorithm to approximate the nth root of a given real number z. The proposed algorithm is a hybrid algorithm between the Bisection method and the combination of the inverse of sine series and Newton's method. Optical absorption, excitation, emission spectra and lasing potential of sodium aluminium phosphate (Na 2 O-Al 2 O 3 -P 2 O 5 ) glasses doped with Eu 3+ ions were studied and discussed. These glasses were synthesized by melt-quenching technique at 1200 °C. It was found that the emission spectra of glass samples exhibited an intense red (612 nm) emission band upon excitation with 394 nm. Judd-Ofelt (JO) intensity parameters (Ω λ=2,4,6 ), radiative transition probabilities (A R ), peak stimulated emission cross-sections ( σ (λ p )) and branching ratio ( β ) were calculated and compared between without and with thermal corrections. The evaluated JO values indicated that, this glass perform high potential for using as red laser medium application

Sodium aluminium barium phosphate glasses doped with different concentration of Pr2O3 were synthesized by melt quench technique. These glasses were varied concentrations of Pr2O3 at 0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.50, 1.00 and 2.00 mol%. Their physical properties like density (ρ) and refractive index (n) were measured at room temperature. Also, optical absorption and photoluminescence spectra of these glasses have been acquired at room temperature. It was found that the intensity were increase with increasing concentration of Pr2O3. UV-Vis and NIR (250-2500 nm) spectra have been measured for all studied glass samples and discussed. The photoluminescence spectra recorded under 445 nm excitation exhibited the emission bands at 528, 598 and 639 nm corresponding to the emission transitions 3P1 → 3H5, 1D2 → 3H4, and 3P0 → 3F2 respectively. The Judd-Ofelt (JO) parameters Ωλ (λ = 2, 4 and 6) have been calculated to explore the bonding environment around the Pr3+ ions. The CIE chromacity color coordinates (x,y) are calculated from the emission spectra which indicates the located in the yellow-orange region. The prepared glasses are potential candidates for laser applications. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
