In the contemporary digital era, social media, particularly Twitter, has become a vital channel for sharing realtime information on natural disasters like floods, forest fires, and earthquakes. This rapid dissemination enables swift responses to disasters. However, classification models relying solely on social media data face challenges, notably the lack of richness and diversity in word embedding vectors, limiting precise analysis. To address this, the research integrates data from Wikipedia to improve word embeddings. The classification model employs Word Embedding, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) 1D, and Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) techniques. By combining embedding methods such as Word2Vec, GloVe, and FastText, derived from both social media and Wikipedia Indonesia, the model enhances word representation and improves classification accuracy. Results demonstrate accuracies of 85.61% for floods, $92.56 \%$ for forest fires, and $84.11 \%$ for earthquakes. This research contributes to advancing natural disaster communication classification by utilizing more diverse data and proposing methodologies for unstructured social media content analysis.

Traffic congestion in freeways poses significant challenges, impacting travel times and environmental sustainability. This paper proposes a novel approach to enhance ramp metering control using predictive traffic insights derived from physics-informed LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) models. By integrating predictive capabilities with established control strategies like ALINEA, the method dynamically adjusts on-ramp flow rates based on anticipated traffic conditions. Real-world traffic data are used to evaluate the effectiveness of the approach, demonstrating improved performance compared to the adoption of conventional controllers.

The escalating visibility of secure direct object reference (IDOR) vulnerabilities in API security, as indicated in the compilation of OWASP Top 10 API Security Risks, highlights a noteworthy peril to sensitive data. This study explores IDOR vulnerabilities found within Android APIs, intending to clarify their inception while evaluating their implications for application security. This study combined the qualitative and quantitative approaches. Insights were obtained from an actual penetration test on an Android app into the primary reasons for IDOR vulnerabilities, underscoring insufficient input validation and weak authorization methods. We stress the frequent occurrence of IDOR vulnerabilities in the OWASP Top 10 API vulnerability list, highlighting the necessity to prioritize them in security evaluations. There are mitigation recommendations available for developers, which recognize its limitations involving a possibly small and homogeneous selection of tested Android applications, the testing environment that could cause some inaccuracies, and the impact of time constraints. Additionally, the study noted insufficient threat modeling and root cause analysis, affecting its generalizability and real-world relevance. However, comprehending and controlling IDOR dangers can enhance Android API security, protect user data, and bolster application resilience. © 2023 IEEE.

Scheduling with testing falls under the umbrella of the research on optimization with explorable uncertainty. In this model, each job has an upper limit on its processing time that can be decreased to a lower limit (possibly unknown) by some preliminary action (testing). Recently, Dürr et al. [10] has studied a setting where testing a job takes a unit time, and the goal is to minimize total completion time or makespan on a single machine. In this paper, we extend their problem to the budget setting in which each test consumes a job-specific cost, and we require that the total testing cost cannot exceed a given budget. We consider the offline variant (the lower processing time is known) and the oblivious variant (the lower processing time is unknown) and aim to minimize the total completion time or makespan on a single machine. For the total completion time objective, we show NP-hardness and derive a PTAS for the offline variant based on a novel LP rounding scheme. We give a (4 + ϵ)-competitive algorithm for the oblivious variant based on a framework inspired by the worst-case lower-bound instance. For the makespan objective, we give an FPTAS for the offline variant and a (2 + ϵ)-competitive algorithm for the oblivious variant. Our algorithms for the oblivious variants under both objectives run in time O(poly(n/ϵ)). Backchanneling (e.g., right, okay, uhhuh) during a dialogue signals that a person is engaged and following along with what is being said. Although backchannels often overlap with other utterances, they are not interpreted as an attempt to take the floor when used successfully. Limited work has been done on investigating the frequency and overlap length of backchannels in the language of Autistic children. After controlling for age, sex, and IQ, we found that Autistic children used significantly less backchannels than their Typically Developing (TD) peers. Additionally, we found that Autistic children were less likely than TD children to produce a backchannel with a greater overlap length. © 2023 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Visible light communication(VLC)has a paramount role in industrial implementations,especially for better energy efficiency,high speed-data rates,and low susceptibility to ***,since studies on VLC for industrial implementations are in scarcity,areas concerning illumination optimisation and communication performances demand further *** such,this paper presents a new modelling of light fixture distribution for a warehouse model to provide acceptable illumination and communication *** proposed model was evaluated based on various semi-angles at half power(SAAHP)and different height levels for several parameters,including received power,signal to noise ratio(SNR),and bit error rate(BER).The results revealed improvement in terms of received power and SNR with 30 Mbps data *** modulations were studied to improve the link quality,whereby better average BER values of 5.55×10^(−15) and 1.06×10^(−10) had been achieved with 4 PAM and 8 PPM,*** simulation outcomes are indeed viable for the practical warehouse model.

Sleep study is of major importance for the assessment of sleep apneas, sleep stages or the diagnosis of sleep disorders. Although there exists a variety of tools for the evaluation of sleep, including the gold standard polysomnography (PSG) or high-tech wearable devices, the last decade there is also an increasing interest in the use of ultra wide-band (UWB) radar sensors for non-contact medical studies. The objective of this study is to develop a pre-clinical environment for the measurement of two important vital signs of the human functions, i.e., the respiratory and heartbeat rates, through UWB radar recordings of chest motion. For this purpose, at first we composed a simulating chest and heart motion architecture which represents these two basic body functions in parallel. After that, with the employment of a UWB-radar, we performed extensive recordings of simulator's displacements, and we concluded to the mathematical estimation of the respiratory and heartbeat rates, compared to the initial frequencies given to the simulated procedure. Our experimental results prove that we can estimate both rates in an accurate manner and even if these pre-clinical tests are made under ideal conditions, the UWB-radar can further be used for clinical assessment, with promising perspectives. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors. In this paper,we propose a novel secure image communication system that integrates quantum key distribution and hyperchaotic encryption techniques to ensure enhanced security for both key distribution and plaintext ***,we leverage the B92 Quantum Key Distribution(QKD)protocol to secure the distribution of encryption keys,which are further processed through Galois Field(GF(28))operations for increased *** encrypted plaintext is secured using a newly developed Hyper 3D Logistic Map(H3LM),a chaotic system that generates complex and unpredictable sequences,thereby ensuring strong confusion and diffusion in the encryption *** hybrid approach offers a robust defense against quantum and classical cryptographic attacks,combining the advantages of quantum-level key distribution with the unpredictability of hyperchaos-based *** proposed method demonstrates high sensitivity to key changes and resilience to noise,compression,and cropping attacks,ensuring both secure key transmission and robust image encryption.

The satellite simulator platform is necessary for the satellite development. It is an essential tool to verify the operations of flight software. The Controller-in-the-Loop simulation with Simulation Third Generation (SimTG) existing at Thailand's Geo-informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) can help verify the flight software along with the on-board computer (OBC). However, it is rather rigid and cannot adjust other devices arbitrarily. This paper presents the requirements of the Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation (HILS) platform along with the proposed solution to solve this problem. The interface module is developed by using the Python EtherSpaceLink-API along with socket programming. The essential tool in the development is the Parsl, which is a promising Python parallel library. The experimental testing of the proposed HILS is done by using a cloned simulator working as physical devices. Then, the response times are measured adjusting the frequency of the flight software. The proposed design achieved the expected results, respecting to the Controller-in-the-Loop simulator. © 2022 IEEE.

The type and quality of education that a student receives can have a profound impact on their career. In contrast to education that is not intentionally organized to help students achieve specific career objectives, career-based education seeks to provide students with the skills that are required to achieve specific career goals. In this work, we propose a course recommendation framework that is designed to recommend courses based directly on their ability to teach skills relevant to a user-specified career goal. Within our framework, course recommendations are generated in a transparent manner, using skills to bridge between jobs and courses in a knowledge-based inference procedure. Due to the procedure’s transparency, our system is able to provide faithful template-based explanations detailing why each recommended course was chosen for recommendation. Our framework contrasts with other course recommendation systems in the literature that lack the ability to explain their choices and therefore may lack trustworthiness from the perspective of a user. The proposed framework has several applications, including assisting students with course planning, as well as aiding with curriculum evaluation and development by providing insight into the usefulness of specific courses to specific careers. We conduct a preliminary evaluation of our system, and its performance is competitive against two baselines. We provide all the resources needed to reproduce our results.
