The ShipQuest Ontology is a pioneering legal maritime ontology designed for modeling and integrating legal information in the Greek language. This standardized representation of legal concepts within the maritime domain offers a structured approach to managing legal data. By formalizing legal information in Greek, the ShipQuest Ontology ensures semantic interoperability and seamless integration of diverse legal data sources. It encompasses essential classes, subclasses, properties, and relationships pertaining to legal aspects of maritime activities, including legal entities, contracts, regulations, liabilities, and more. The ShipQuest Ontology plays a critical role in stream-lining legal operations within the maritime industry, offering a unified and comprehensive knowledge base for legal practitioners, researchers, and decision-makers. Its adoption fosters collaboration and knowledge exchange within the maritime community, promoting standardized legal terminology and practices. This paper delves into the construction and utilization of the ShipQuest Ontology, detailing its architecture, development process, and implementation. Furthermore, we showcase its practical benefits by illustrating its application in real-world scenarios. By addressing the challenges of legal data heterogeneity and facilitating semantic consistency, the ShipQuest Ontology sets a precedent for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness in the legal domain of maritime activities.

The emerging need for fast and power-efficient AI/ML deployment on-board spacecraft has forced the space in-dustry to examine specialized accelerators, which have been suc-cessfully used in terrestrial applications. Towards this direction, the current work introduces a very heterogeneous co-processing architecture that is built around UltraScale+ MPSoC and its programmable DPU, as well as commercial AI/ML accelerators such as MyriadX VPU and Edge TPU. The proposed architecture, called MPAI, handles networks of different size/complexity and accommodates speed-accuracy-energy trade-offs by exploiting the diversity of accelerators in precision and computational power. This brief provides technical background and reports preliminary experimental results and outcomes.

In this paper we present a method for classifying sign language videos using a variation of dynamic time warping with the Procrustes distance, which is a shape similarity measure appropriate for handshape recognition. We initially extract features from the dominant hand. We then classify the signs using a nearest-neighbor scheme which includes a dynamic time warping variant, which we dub Procrustes-DTW and which is suitable for extracting a similarity measure of sequences of handshapes only. To reduce computational costs it is combined with a curvature-based summarization scheme with a reasonable sacrifice in accuracy. We verify experimentally our approach on a custom dataset and we show its merit compared to the conventional dynamic time warping approach.

Waste is a complex and severe problem with detrimental environmental impacts if not appropriately managed. The process of buying and selling waste is essential in waste management. With its smart contracts, blockchain allows transactions to be carried out automatically without involving third parties, thereby speeding up the process and increasing efficiency and security. This research applies blockchain to record waste buying and selling transactions. We selected Binance Smart Chain (BSC) as a blockchain platform and Solidity 0.8.0 to build smart contracts containing structures, events, and functions that manage transactions. Autotask connected to the relayer records transactions on the blockchain network without requiring direct intervention from the user. We set up credentials from apiKey and apiSecret to connect to OpenZeppelin Defender, then enter the contract address deployed to the BSC network. After that, we create a variable to accommodate the deployed smart contract's Application Binary Interface (ABI). System testing uses the black box and System Usability Scale (SUS). Of the ten test scenarios in the black box, everything ran smoothly. System testing using SUS resulted in a score of 76 and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) value of 70%. This score indicates that the system is deemed acceptable and included in the good category. This system can guarantee transparency in the waste buying and selling system, hoping to increase accountability and trust in the community.
