Technological developments have impacts and challenges in human life. Technological advances have made human life easier. The impact of technological developments is the industrial manufacturing process getting faster with the help of robotics technology. Robots can shorten manufacturing process time and efficient. On the other hand, challenges with technological developments force us to keep learning and adaptive to every changes around us, especially in the education sector. In education sector, formal educational institutions or campuses must be able to facilitate students to be able to learn comprehensively in the field of technology, especially robotics, where we can make an innovative learning platform based on robotics technology. In this study, we discussed a 2-DOF arm manipulator robot as kinematics learning platform of industrial robot to increase student competencies in preparation for facing the industrial environment in century. Inverse kinematics equation has been applied in the robot by providing input coordinates on the x-axis and y-axis where the accuracy value on the x-axis is 77% and the accuracy on the y-axis is 83.1%.

The detection of abnormal human behavior is an interesting issue to consider in computer vision. The problem of detecting abnormal activities carried out in this study is a problem formulated in the process of monitoring human activities. In understanding the nature of human activities, a system is needed that is applied to data training which is specifically proposed based on ConvLSTM-AE for the detection of moving objects in motion-based events. Detection of anomalies and localization that arise due to camera jitter and movement of objects in the area. With the unusual motion of the video frame, connected component analysis is exploited to provide bounding boxing to find out whether human movements whose activities are based on human poses will be classified as normal or abnormal in a set of activity data. The learning and training process so that the proposed model can capture different duration of time and more optimal processes.

Elliptic curve cryptosystem is a widely-used public key cryptosystem that is vulnerable to physical attacks, especially to Side Channel Analysis (SCA) attacks. This paper investigates a version of the atomic patterns $\boldsymbol{kP}$ algorithm for elliptic curves over prime finite fields. The atomic patterns for Elliptic Curve (EC) point doublings and additions are well-known countermeasures against simple SCA attacks. We implemented a binary left-to-right $\boldsymbol{kP}$ algorithm corresponding to the atomic patterns as proposed by Rondepierre and using the FLECC open-source cryptographic library. The library provides constant-time functions for the implementation of different mathematic operations in prime finite fields, making it suitable for SCA-aware implementations of cryptographic protocols, at a theoretical level. We were able to reveal the scalar k processed during a $\boldsymbol{kP}$ execution analyzing the measured electromagnetic trace of the $\boldsymbol{kP}$ execution. We determined at least two parts in the measured trace where the distinction between EC point doublings and EC point additions is good observable.

Despite recent progress in semantic image synthesis, complete control over image style remains a challenging problem. Existing methods require reference images to feed style information into semantic layouts, which indicates that the style is constrained by the given image. In this paper, we propose a model named RUCGAN for user controllable semantic image synthesis, which utilizes a singular color to represent the style of a specific semantic region. The proposed network achieves reference-free semantic image synthesis by injecting color as user-desired styles into each semantic layout, and is able to synthesize semantic images with unusual colors. Extensive experimental results on various challenging datasets show that the proposed method outperforms existing methods, and we further provide an interactive UI to demonstrate the advantage of our approach for style controllability. Due to its long incubation period, aggressive asymptomatic transmission, and new mutations of the virus, COVID-19 is causing multiple pandemic waves worldwide. Despite recent vaccination, social distancing, and social restriction efforts, false negatives, and dormant positives can make pandemics challenging to restrain. In addition to rapid vaccination, effective contact tracing, mask-wearing, and social distancing are critical for out-break containment and for achieving herd immunity. However, the existing technology solutions, such as contact tracing apps and social-distance sensing, have been met with suspicion due to privacy and accuracy concerns and have not been widely adopted. Without achieving a critical mass of individual users, these personal technologies have been rendered useless. On the other hand, large-scale policy efforts have been complicated, requiring the coordination of federal, state, and local governments and regulation enforcement logistics. However, local communities balance these approaches and are an unrealized, powerful resource to prevent future *** paper proposes a novel Crowd Safety Sensing (CroSS) for building a sustainable safe community cluster against COVID-19 and beyond using affordable Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. CroSS monitors social distancing policies to small, focused communities for accommodating efficient technology penetration, greater accuracy, effective practices, and privacy policy assistance. We implemented a social distancing method and integrated it into an edge-based IoT system. The experimental results show that CroSS detects false-positive social distancing cases. © 2021 IEEE.

In this paper a detailed description of the design and implementation of a system capable of detecting various obstacles for wheelchairs is provided. This system is part of a larger project that its goal is to create intelligent applications for patients using powered wheelchairs. The system is implemented on an electric wheelchair using low-cost ultrasonic and infrared sensors. All tests took place in indoor environment inside our laboratories, and the performance of the system is found to be adequate for the purposes of our project. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper conducts a comprehensive analysis of electrical generator performance using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), with a specific emphasis on the role of coil numbers in influencing generator efficiency and functionality. In the context of modern energy systems, where efficient power generation is paramount, this research aims to elucidate the relationship between the number of coils within a generator and its overall performance, including power output and electromagnetic behavior. Through systematic FEA simulations that vary coil numbers while keeping other parameters constant, this study provides valuable insights into the trade-offs associated with increased coil numbers and enhanced efficiency. These findings have significant implications for optimizing generator designs across various applications, from renewable energy systems to industrial power generation, ultimately advancing our understanding of generator dynamics and contributing to more sustainable and efficient power generation technologies.

Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) have shown significant advantages in a wide variety of domains. However, DNNs are becoming computationally intensive and energy hungry at an exponential pace, while at the same time, there is a vast demand for running sophisticated DNN-based services on resource constrained embedded devices. In this paper, we target energy-efficient inference on embedded DNN accelerators. To that end, we propose an automated framework to compress DNNs in a hardware-aware manner by jointly employing pruning and quantization. We explore, for the first time, per-layer fine- and coarse-grained pruning, in the same DNN architecture, in addition to low bit-width mixed-precision quantization for weights and activations. Reinforcement Learning (RL) is used to explore the associated design space and identify the pruning-quantization configuration so that the energy consumption is minimized whilst the prediction accuracy loss is retained at acceptable levels. Using our novel composite RL agent we are able to extract energy-efficient solutions without requiring retraining and/or fine tuning. Our extensive experimental evaluation over widely used DNNs and the CIFAR-10/100 and ImageNet datasets demonstrates that our framework achieves 39% average energy reduction for 1.7% average accuracy loss and outperforms significantly the state-of-the-art approaches. Photonic computing and signal processing are rapidly regaining attention, capitalizing on the saturation of digital electronics capabilities, owed to the ending of the Moore’s law era. Optical communications are among the fields in which digital signal processing (DSP) struggles to offer a viable long-term solution, as its power consumption rises significantly in the latest generation optical links. For example, the traditional intensity modulation and direct detection (IM/DD) systems suffer from challenging problems as the chromatic dispersion induced power fading effect, which necessitates the use of powerful digital equalizers in the 800G and 1.6T optical transceivers. In this paper, we experimentally validate our previous numerical works in recurrent optical spectrum slicing (ROSS) accelerators for dispersion compensation in high-speed IM/DD links. For this, we utilize recurrent filters implemented both through a waveshaper and by exploiting novel integrated programmable photonic platforms. Different recurrent configurations are tested. The ROSS accelerators exploit frequency processing through recurrent optical filter nodes in order to mitigate the power fading effect, which hinders the transmission distance and baudrate scalability of IM/DD systems. By equalizing even 80 km of 64 Gb/s PAM-4 transmission in C-band, we prove that our system can offer an appealing solution in highly dispersive channels. We employ the simplest digital equalization in the form of a feed-forward equalizer (FFE), avoiding throughput, latency, and complexity restrictions that the decision feedback equalizer (DFE) and the maximum-likelihood sequence estimator (MLSE) impose. We achieve, with the use of programmable photonics, to reduce the bit error rate (BER) from 0.11 to less than 1x10-2 with the use of only two filter nodes, whereas BER approaches 10-3 when three nodes are incorporated. Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC) is a data-driven algorithm that offers a promising approach for robust control design. This paper investigates the effectiveness of first-order and second-order ADRC for 3D cranes. To compare the results fairly and reduce the heuristics in parameter tuning, the ADRC parameters were optimally computed via the African Vultures Optimization Algorithm. Both controllers based on ADRC are validated using experiments on a 3D crane laboratory system and their design and performance evaluation are done by minimizing the sum of squared errors. The results demonstrate the robustness of the ADRCs. This comparative analysis highlights the advantages and limitations of both control strategies, providing valuable insights for selecting the appropriate ADRC order for specific applications. © 2024 The Authors.
