With the growing demand for video applications, ensuring reliable broadcast services in Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) has become increasingly critical. Furthermore, digital video services are highly sensitive to network impairments due to timing constraints and video frame dependencies. In this paper, we consider an IEEE 802.11bc network where the Access Point (AP) provides both unicast and broadcast services, with associated stations generating unicast traffic at varying rates. We propose a Wireless Broadcast Access Protocol (WBAP) that supports multiple channel access for both unicast and broadcast traffic. We develop a Markov model to evaluate the performance of WBAP under both saturated and unsaturated conditions. The analytical results are validated using a custom-made MATLAB simulator. Our findings show that the proposed WBAP effectively manages the coexistence of unicast and broadcast traffic, significantly enhancing network performance and reliability, particularly under high-load traffic conditions.

Recent technical developments in wi-fi networking, microelectronic integration and programming, sensors and the Internet have enabled us to create and enforce a range of new framework schemes to fulfil the necessities of healthcare-related wireless body area network (WBAN). WBAN sensors continually screen and measure patients' indispensable signs and symptoms, and relay them to scientific monitoring for diagnosis. WBAN has a range of applications, the most necessary of which is to help patients suffering diseases to stay alive. The quality instance is the coronary heart implant sensor, whose video display unit monitors coronary heart sign and continuously transmits it. This setup eliminates the need for patients to visit the medical doctor frequently. Instead, they can take a seat at home and acquire an analysis and prescription for the disease. Today, a sizable effort is being made to increase low-power sensors and gadgets for utility in WBAN. A new framework scheme that addresses route loss in WBAN and discusses its penalties in depth is endorsed in this paper. The new framework scheme is applied to three case scenarios to obtain parameters by measuring vital information about the human body. On-body and intrabody conversation simulations are conducted. On-body conversation findings show that the route loss between transmitter and receiver rises with growing distance and frequency. © 2022 College of Education, Al-Iraqia University. Distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks are increasing in size, and complexity, and becoming more frequent where volumetric or high-rate attacks are the most prevalent type of DDoS penetrations. Cyber-attack and breaches against the networks of the Internet of Things (IoT) have dire consequences for the data and services that are used in the applications and devices while at the same time increasing the security challenges for its departments due to the increased resources required. A DDoS attack is an endeavor aimed at making a network, online service, or a whole organization unavailable by bombarding to saturate its traffic from multiple sources. The software-defined paradigm has been utilized as an effective mitigation technique for DDoS in IoT. Most researchers and experts have embraced this technique;therefore, in this study, we will present the conventional framework of software-defined detection and mitigation techniques for IoT. Furthermore, we will advance an algorithm for detecting and alleviating DDoS attacks that can be easily interfaced with software-defined frameworks (SD-IOT) for IoT. This algorithm will be based on neural networks for the packet in and out traffic while monitoring for DDoS attacks. The technique was successfully tested and revealed 89.047% accuracy for identifying actual DDoS attack datasets. © 2022 IEEE.

Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANETs) provide communication among vehicles to build smart cities using Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). In this paper, we proposed Delay Tolerant and Multipath Reliability (DTMR) in VANETs. The simulation of the DTMR method is performed using OMNet++ network simulator with Simulation of Urban Mobility (SUMO). The parameters which are considered for the performance analysis are end-to-end delay, data failure rate, data success rate and throughput. The results show that the DTMR method produces 85ms lower end-to-end delay, 13% lower data failure rate, 93 % higher data success rate and 614 Kbps higher throughput. The proposed DTMR method has better overall performance than the ISFF and VDPR methods. © 2023 IEEE.

The presence of water in human life is crucial, and God has blessed humans much with its availability. This paper tries to reduce the amount of water that people use for washing in all aspects of daily life and instead utilize it to irrigate gardens and maintain hygienic facilities. The importance of water as a fundamental ingredient and the range of social and age groups that regularly take advantage of the washing process made it an ideal location for water waste during the washing process. This is why the authors choose this region to conduct their research. The monitoring and management of water usage during the washing process are simulated using PLC techniques.

Mobile Adhoc Networks (MANETs) is an emerging technology in both the industrial and academic research. The major drawback in MANETs is improving the battery capacity. MANETs are dynamic in nature therefore during communication it consumes more energy that reduces the overall energy efficiency of the network. Many past and present researches are concern about this problem. In this paper, Energy Preservation in MANETs using Self-Adaptive Cluster Head Selection with Advanced Genetic Algorithm (EPMSA-CHAG) approach is proposed where the CH selection is performed using two segments;they are initial parameter based on CH selection and Advanced Genetic Algorithm (AGA) based CH selection. At the initial stage the parameters which are considered for the CH selection are node degree, node stability, distance, residual energy, and speed and delivery rate. Using these parameters are the best fit for CH selection is chosen then in order to find the optimal best fit from the best fit calculation, Advanced Genetic Algorithm (AGA). The proposed EPMSA-CHAG approach is simulated using NS2 and the parameters which are considered for the performance analysis are packet delivery rate, energy efficiency, end to end delay, routing overhead and throughput. The methods that are taken for the comparative analysis are HLSPM-CHSR and HAMBO-CHLD. From the results calculated it is proven that the proposed EPMSA-CHAG approach achieved high packet delivery rate, energy efficiency and throughput as well as lower end to end delay and routing overhead when compared with the earlier methods HLSPM-CHSR and HAMBO-CHLD. © 2023 IEEE.

Discrete Volterra equation is useful model for nonlinear problem. Demosaicing on frequencydomain analysis is an aliasing problem between luminance and chrominance components from a CFA image, which means a nonlinear problem. In order to solve demosaicing, the discrete Volterra equation may be used as a model. A suitable Volterra kernel is required. We show that there is an analogy between the weights and bias of the perceptron and the coefficients of the Volterra kernel. This analogy allows us to have a numerical resolution of the discrete Volterra equation and thus to compute the coefficients of the Volterra kernel. On the Kodak database images, this demosaicing algorithm is used according to the Volterra kernel's size and the Volterra equation's order. Several metrics are used to evaluate performance. The results show that the aliasing problem is attenuated depending on the order of the Volterra equation and the size of the Volterra kernel chosen. For the second-order Volterra equation and a kernel size of 3 × 3, we have an average signal-to-noise ratio performance of 37.7 dB. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This article presents a miniaturized size Microstrip-patch sensor structure based on meander-line slot for water-quality and salinity measurement applications. The HFSS-software tool is employed to design and simulate the proposed sensor. The proposed sensor is printed on $60\times 50\times 1~mm^{3}$ a dielectric material of FR-4 type. The meander-line slot resonator is inserted in the patch-sensor for miniaturize with the sensitivity enhancement. In order to contain the water sample that wants to be tested, a receptacle with dimensions of $47.75\times 50\times 4~mm^{3}$ is mounted on the sensor structure. The receptacle is made from PTFE-Teflon dielectric material. The miniaturize sensor is noticed resonant at 2.74 GHz for unloaded-state. Furthermore, it’s found resonant at; 2.44 GHz, 2.49 GHz, and 2.5 GHz for DI-water, fresh-water and sea-water respectfully. The miniaturized-sensor is showed good sensing values that equals to 0.901 for DI-water, 0.751 for fresh-water, and 0.721 for Sea-water. Finally, a good agreement is showed between the measurement results and those from simulation.

The Restricted Access Window (RAW) mechanism introduced in the IEEE 802.11ah standard aims to address the high channel contention of Internet of Things (IoT) networks. It allows the Access Point (AP) to periodically limit channel access to only one group of stations during a short time interval called RAW slot. Such a time limit prevents the channel access contention from reaching the steady state. Henceforth, we present a renewal theory based analytical model for the time-limited contention within the RAW slot. Furthermore, we construct a counting process to track transmissions within the contention interval and derive closed-form analytical results. As IoT networks are typically composed of battery-powered devices, it is compulsory to manage the energy consumption of the network in order to extend the lifetime of devices. Hence, we analyze and evaluate the energy consumption and energy efficiency during the RAW slot period. Extensive simulations using Matlab software validate the analytical model and prove the effectiveness of our proposals. © 2021 IEEE.

To support the increasing demand for wireless services with efficient data rates, the IEEE 802.11be Extremely High Throughput (EHT) is being developed. This paper considers an IEEE 802.11be platform to support multiclass traffic characterized by different performance requirements. We focus on the study of the multi-link operation (MLO) being introduced by the standard. Therefore, we develop a Markov Decision Process (MDP) model to control the routing of arriving packets based on the resource requirements of the various traffic streams. We show that there exists a unique optimal stationary policy for the routing control of packets that minimizes the overall cost of the queueing system. The optimal routing control significantly decreases the Mean Sojourn Time (MST) of packets with lower load demand without interfering with the service performance of the highest resource requirements traffic.
