People of Cikakak Traditional Village, Wangon District, Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province are known as the followers of Islam Aboge (Alif Rebo Wage). Their religious holidays such as the beginning of fasting month (Ramadan) and Eid al-Fitr are determined based on the rules they have been using so far, namely Month Code or Sandi Bulan and Year Code or Sandi Tahun. This research is conducted using literature study method and field study in the form of interview with respondents. This research aims at producing a mathematical model which matches the function of these two codes. The results obtained are five mathematical equations to determine the names of year, saptawara and pancawara days for the 1st day of each month, and saptawara and pancawara days for other dates.

Linelike features in TeV γ rays constitute a “smoking gun” for TeV-scale particle dark matter and new physics. Probing the Galactic Center region with ground-based Cherenkov telescopes enables the search for TeV spectral features in immediate association with a dense dark matter reservoir at a sensitivity out of reach for satellite γ-ray detectors, and direct detection and collider experiments. We report on 223 hours of observations of the Galactic Center region with the MAGIC stereoscopic telescope system reaching γ-ray energies up to 100 TeV. We improved the sensitivity to spectral lines at high energies using large-zenith-angle observations and a novel background modeling method within a maximum-likelihood analysis in the energy domain. No linelike spectral feature is found in our analysis. Therefore, we constrain the cross section for dark matter annihilation into two photons to ⟨σv⟩≲5×10−28 cm3 s−1 at 1 TeV and ⟨σv⟩≲1×10−25 cm3 s−1 at 100 TeV, achieving the best limits to date for a dark matter mass above 20 TeV and a cuspy dark matter profile at the Galactic Center. Finally, we use the derived limits for both cuspy and cored dark matter profiles to constrain supersymmetric wino models.

Periodically driven systems have displayed a variety of fascinating phenomena without analogies in static systems, which enrich the classification of quantum phases of matter and stimulate a wide range of research interests. Here, we employ discrete-time quantum walks to investigate a nontrivial topological effect unique to a two-dimensional periodically driven system: chiral edge states can exist at the interface of Floquet insulators whose Chern numbers vanish. Thanks to a resource-saving and flexible fiber-loop architecture, we realize inhomogeneous two-dimensional quantum walks up to 25 steps, over an effective 51×51 lattice with tunable local parameters. Spin-polarized chiral edge states are observed at the boundary of two distinct quantum walk domains. Our results contribute to establishing a well-controlled platform for exploring nontrivial topological phases.

Recently, secure information transmission is necessary such that no one can detect information sent via an open channel. In 2013, Chang and Clark proposed a method using lexical substitution and vertex coding for securing the information exchange between parties, such that no one can detect the exchanged information. However, the maximum payload capacity was still 2 bits. This work proposed a method for increasing the payload capacity of Chang's method by applying additional syntactical transformation instead of only lexical substitution and vertex coding. Based on the implementation, the payload resulted by the proposed method may increase minimum 2 bits, such that the minimum payload size is 4 bits, which is greater than Chang's method.
