In this work, the morphological and optical properties of the cadmium (II) bis(8-hydroxyquinoline) (Cdq2) thin film are presented. The film was elaborated by physical deposition technique. The Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) image shows a homogenous surface. The transmittance was measured in the range of 300–1200 nm with UV–visible spectroscopy. The emission of the film was characterized via the photoluminescence spectroscopy, a strong luminescence has been found. The measurements done at low temperatures show a decrease of the intensity of luminescence in the temperature range of 77–300 K. © 2022

Research for nonlinear optical properties of highly conjugated organometallic compounds and self-assembled photonic architectures is growing very rapidly and play a major role in emerging photonic technologies. Innovative compounds for communications, optical switching, optical data information storage and optical limiting require an important development of materials based on molecular engineering of advanced molecular systems with exceptional nonlinear optical (NLO) responses. Thus, organic materials, polymeric materials, organometallic or coordination metallic complexes have been the subject of both experimental and theoretical investigations during last recent years because of their valuable potential applications in photonics and optical devices. The aim of the present work is to study the impact of the chemical structure on the photoluminescence response of Znq 2 , Cuq 2 and Alq 3 studied organometallic compounds. These ones were deposited as thin layers by using the Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) apparatus. The photoluminescence gives information about the photophysical properties of studied thin layers. The time-resolved photoluminescence was used to measure the decay time in the real time precisely. The chemical structure has an important impact on the photoluminescence. However, the important photoluminescence results in visible range allow the studied complexes to be used as a good material for the production of Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED). The effect of magnetic field and its role in controlling nonlinear optical properties will be also discussed.

This study presents the findings of a new financial risk system with one absolute function and two quadratic nonlinearities. The rich dynamic behaviors of the new financial risk system are discussed analytically and numerically through stability analysis, phase portrait, bifurcation diagram, Lyapunov exponent, multistability and coexisting attractors. In addition, a new financial risk system with two quadratic nonlinearities and one absolute function shows multistability and coexistence of chaotic attractors. Using adaptive feedback control, we established a new control law for fully synchronising the proposed chaotic financial systems with itself. To conclude, some numerical simulation was presented using MATLAB to illustrate the efficiency of the designed method. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature India Private Limited.

To directly investigate the dynamic nanoscale phenomenon on the surface being processed in wet conditions such as precision polishing, and cleaning in semiconductor industrial, an optical method for visualization and observation of each sub-100 nm sized particle that is moving on an interface such as a silica glass surface by applying an evanescent field have been proposing. Subsequently, we developed an experimental apparatus equipped with an optical microscopy system for verifying the moving particle observation method in a laboratory scale. This article introduces some experimentally direct observation results of duplicated wet processes.

This paper presents a personalized lecture concept using educational blocks and its demonstrative application in a new university lecture. Higher education faces daily challenges: deep and specialized knowledge is available from everywhere and accessible to almost everyone. University lecturers of specialized master courses confront the problem that their lectures are either too boring or too complex for the attending students. Additionally, curricula are changing more rapidly than they have in the past 10–30 years. The German education system comprises different educational forms, with universities providing less practical content. Consequently, many university students do not obtain the practical skills they should ideally gain through university lectures. Therefore, in this work, a new lecture concept is proposed based on the extension of the just-in-time teaching paradigm: Personalized and Demand-Based Education. This concept includes: 1) an initial assessment of students’ backgrounds, 2) selecting the appropriate educational blocks, and 3) collecting ongoing feedback during the semester. The feedback was gathered via Pingo, ensuring anonymity for the students. Our concept was exemplarily tested in the new lecture"Practical Tools for control Engineers" at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Objectives: To evaluate changes in the age at menarche in Asian populations. Study design: Retrospective cohort study. Methods: We included 548,830 women from six countries in Asia. The data were sourced from 20 cohorts participating in the Asia Cohort Consortium (ACC) and two additional cohort studies: Japan Multi-institutional Collaborative Cohorts (J-MICC), and Japan Nurse Health Study (JNHS) with data on age at menarche. Joinpoint regression was used to evaluate changes in age at menarche by birth year and by country. Results: The study includes data from cohorts in six Asian countries namely, China, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. Birth cohorts ranged from 1873 to 1995. The mean age of menarche was 14.0 years with a standard deviation (SD) of 1.4 years, ranged from 12.6 to 15.5 years. Over 100 years age at menarche showed an overall decrease in all six countries. China showed a mixed pattern of decrease, increase, and subsequent decrease from 1926 to 1960. Iran and Malaysia experienced a sharp decline between about 1985 and 1990, with APC values of −4.48 and −1.24, respectively, while Japan, South Korea, and Singapore exhibited a nearly linear decline since the 1980s, notably with an APC of −3.41 in Singapore from 1993 to 1995. Conclusions: Overall, we observed a declining age at menarche, while the pace of the change differed by country. Additional long-term observation is needed to examine the contributing factors of differences in trend across Asian countries. The study could serve as a tool to strengthen global health campaigns. © 2024 The Royal Society for Public Health

This paper describes control design considering magnetic flux characteristic uncertainty for magnetic levitation system with magnetic flux and current feedback. The position of the levitated object is calculated from the hall voltage and current of the electromagnet. We show the uncertainty for magnetic flux characteristic and design the stabilizing controller by proportional feedback with the hall voltage and current. Moreover, we tried to design servo controller by two-degree-of-freedom control by using a finite number of frequency response (FNFR) model including the uncertainty and confirmed the validity of the proposed method by experiment results. © 2019 The Institute of Eleclrical Engineers of Japan.
