SepFE:Separable Fusion Enhanced Network for Retinal Vessel Segmentation

The accurate and automatic segmentation of retinal vessels fromfundus images is critical for the early diagnosis and prevention ofmany eye diseases,such as diabetic retinopathy(DR).Existing retinal vessel segmentation approaches based on convolutional neural networks(CNNs)have achieved remarkable ***,we extend a retinal vessel segmentation model with low complexity and high performance based on U-Net,which is one of the most popular *** view of the excellent work of depth-wise separable convolution,we introduce it to replace the standard convolutional *** complexity of the proposed model is reduced by decreasing the number of parameters and calculations required for *** ensure performance while lowering redundant parameters,we integrate the pre-trained MobileNet V2 into the ***,a feature fusion residual module(FFRM)is designed to facilitate complementary strengths by enhancing the effective fusion between adjacent levels,which alleviates extraneous clutter introduced by direct ***,we provide detailed comparisons between the proposed SepFE and U-Net in three retinal image mainstream datasets(DRIVE,STARE,and CHASEDB1).The results show that the number of SepFE parameters is only 3%of U-Net,the Flops are only 8%of U-Net,and better segmentation performance is *** superiority of SepFE is further demonstrated through comparisons with other advanced methods.

GPS: graph contrastive learning via multi-scale augmented views from adversarial pooling

Self-supervised graph representation learning has recently shown considerable promise in a range of fields, including bioinformatics and social networks. A large number of graph contrastive learning approaches have shown promising performance for representation learning on graphs, which train models by maximizing agreement between original graphs and their augmented views(i.e., positive views). Unfortunately, these methods usually involve pre-defined augmentation strategies based on the knowledge of human experts. Moreover, these strategies may fail to generate challenging positive views to provide sufficient supervision signals. In this paper, we present a novel approach named graph pooling contrast(GPS) to address these *** by the fact that graph pooling can adaptively coarsen the graph with the removal of redundancy, we rethink graph pooling and leverage it to automatically generate multi-scale positive views with varying emphasis on providing challenging positives and preserving semantics, i.e., strongly-augmented view and weakly-augmented view. Then, we incorporate both views into a joint contrastive learning framework with similarity learning and consistency learning, where our pooling module is adversarially trained with respect to the encoder for adversarial robustness. Experiments on twelve datasets on both graph classification and transfer learning tasks verify the superiority of the proposed method over its counterparts.

Double-branch fusion network with a parallel attention selection mechanism for camouflaged object detection

To meet the challenge of camouflaged object detection （COD）,which has a high degree of intrinsic similarity between the object and background,this paper proposes a double-branch fusion network（DBFN）with a parallel attention selection mechanism （PASM）.In detail,a schismatic receptive field block（SRF）combined with an attention mechanism for low-level information is performed to learn texture features in one branch,and an integration of the SRF,a hybrid attention mechanism （HAM）,and a depth feature polymerization module （DFPM）is employed for high-level information to extract detection features in the other ***,both texture features and detection features are input into the PASM to acquire selective expression ***,the final result is obtained after further selective matrix optimization with atrous spatial pyramid pooling （ASPP）and a residual channel attention block （RCAB）being applied *** results on three public datasets verify that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in terms of four evaluation metrics,i.e.,mean absolute error （MAE）,weighted F βmeasure （Fβω）,structural measure （Sα）,and E-measure （Eφ）

Radiomics is a non-invasive method for extracting quantitative and higher-dimensional features from medical images for *** has received great attention due to its huge application prospects in recent *** can know that the number of features selected by the existing radiomics feature selectionmethods is basically about *** this paper,a heuristic feature selection method based on frequency iteration and multiple supervised training mode is *** on the combination between features,it decomposes all features layer by layer to select the optimal features for each layer,then fuses the optimal features to form a local optimal group layer by layer and iterates to the global optimal combination *** with the currentmethod with the best prediction performance in the three data sets,thismethod proposed in this paper can reduce the number of features fromabout ten to about three without losing classification accuracy and even significantly improving classification *** proposed method has better interpretability and generalization ability,which gives it great potential in the feature selection of radiomics.

A method of embedding a high-resolution image into a large field-of-view image

Images captured by wide-angle cameras or fisheye cameras are with large Field-of-View (FOV) but low resolution, while images captured by conventional cameras are with high-resolution but limited FOV. To handle this contradiction, in this paper, we propose to improve the resolution of a large FOV image by embedding a high-resolution image into it. We present an image embedding method based on non-rigid transformations and mesh optimization. Without any radial distortion correction on large FOV images, we utilize non-rigid transformations to model the mathematical transformation relationship between the high-resolution image and the large FOV image. Meanwhile, we exploit mesh optimization to generate evenly distributed control points for maintaining the shape and content of the large FOV image. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, we capture some image pairs from a conventional camera and a large FOV camera, and exploit several classic image alignment methods to implement four baseline methods. The experimental results show that our method preserves the shape and content of the original FOV image from 58% to 82%, which significantly outperforms all baseline methods. The results indicate that the proposed method can effectively embed a high-resolution image into a large FOV image as well as preserve the shape and content of the large FOV image. In other words, the resolution of a large FOV image can be improved via high-resolution image embedding. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

For a long time, people have believed that representation problems are one of the bottlenecks in the field of machine learning. Therefore, it is a long-term and exploratory work to study machine learning representation methods. Due to this, we use category theory to study the fusion representation of data dimensionality reduction. We propose the basic concept of category representation for data dimensionality reduction and provide a data dimensionality reduction fusion representation framework. We have conducted research and analysis on algorithms such as PCA, KPCA, and LDA, identified the essential connection between PCA, KPCA, and LDA and proposed a data dimensionality reduction fusion representation algorithm based on a data dimensionality reduction fusion representation framework. Finally, we demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed method through experiments. © 2025 SPIE.
