Forest fires have been detected to occur in Indonesia since 1998. The forest fires mostly resulted from human activities in order to expand their land, especially oil palm lands. Once a land clearing is carried out, it covers areas of tens to hundreds of thousands of hectares. The peak of the forest fires occurred in 2015 when almost half of the world was affected especially by smoke from the fire. In 2011, VIIRS (Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite) was launched by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). In their collected data, there is data on Indonesia issued daily for areas in the islands of Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and the general areas of Indonesia. The VIIRS night data shows the possibility of some burning at night. We need to identify burnings that potentially become fires, which are potentially producing smoke. It is important to observe areas where large-scale forest fires frequently occur, so the authority could do some prevention beforehand. Using existing data released per day per area, we utilize an ANN (Artificial Neural Network) to identify a potential fire. The processes start with data cleaning and processing, Neural Network creation, and finally ANN training and testing. By using the ANN prediction model with the MinMax Scaler, we choose variables Temperature, Radiant Heat Intensity, and Source Footprint. Simulations are made to show the ranges of these variables that predict the possibility of’flame’ status occurring. Accurate cardiac motion estimation is a crucial step in assessing the kinematic and contractile properties of the cardiac chambers, thereby directly quantifying the regional cardiac function, which plays an important role in understanding myocardial diseases and planning their treatment. Since the cine cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) provides dynamic, high-resolution 3D images of the heart that depict cardiac motion throughout the cardiac cycle, cardiac motion can be estimated by finding the optical flow representation between the consecutive 3D volumes from a 4D cine cardiac MRI dataset, thereby formulating it as an image registration problem. Therefore, we propose a hybrid convolutional neural network (CNN) and Vision Transformer (ViT) architecture for deformable image registration of 3D cine cardiac MRI images for consistent cardiac motion estimation. We compare the image registration results of our proposed method with those of the VoxelMorph CNN model and conventional B-spline free form deformation (FFD) non-rigid image registration algorithm. We conduct all our experiments on the open-source Automated Cardiac Diagnosis Challenge (ACDC) dataset. Our experiments show that the deformable image registration results obtained using the proposed method outperform the CNN model and the traditional FFD image registration method. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In the realm of research, the global health challenge posed by lung cancer remains pronounced, contributing substantially to annual cancer-related fatalities. The critical imperative lies in the early identification of pulmonary nodules, frequently indicative of impending lung cancer, to enhance patient outcomes and diminish mortality rates. Computed Tomography (CT) imaging stands out as a pivotal diagnostic instrument for the timely detection of these nodules. The swift proliferation of medical imaging data has underscored the pressing necessity for precise and efficient methodologies dedicated to nodule segmentation and measurement. These approaches are crucial in assisting radiologists in their diagnostic and clinical decision-making endeavors. In this study, we introduced a thorough method for analyzing lung nodules, leveraging dataset from Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (FEMH) comprising original CT images and manually annotated ground truth masks obtained with the assistance of radiologists at FEMH. This dataset is utilized for the segmentation of nodules. We employed advanced deep learning models, specifically the U-Net architecture, identified as the optimal model through our training process. We made substantial progress in nodule segmentation, attaining an Intersection over Union (IoU) score of 0.824 and a Dice Coefficient of 0.903 for the FEMH dataset. Furthermore, our performance improved when utilizing the merged dataset comprising FEMH and Luna16, yielding an IoU score of 0.862 and a Dice Coefficient of 0.926. Luna16 has been extensively utilized in numerous studies related to nodule detection and segmentation. In the next phase of the study, the best-performing model from our segmentation phase was utilized to predict nodule masks on the merged dataset. Subsequently, we measured the size of each predicted nodule by comparing it with the size ground truth mask in millimeters. Cervical cancer is one of the deadliest diseases in women. One of the cervical cancer screening methods is pap smear method. However, using a pap smear method to detect cervical cancer takes a long time for a pathologist to diagnose. Hence, a rapid development of medical computerization for early detection to get the results quickly is needed. This paper proposes synthetic data augmentation by using Deep Convolutional Generative Adversarial Network (DCGAN) to increase number of pap smear samples in dataset. Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) is employed to extract features from dataset. Classification of 3 classes which are Adenocarcinoma, High-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion (HSIL), and Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) is conducted using Extreme Learning Machine (ELM). The result shows that the addition of synthetic data improves the performance of ELM with the accuracy of 90%. This accuracy is better than the accuracy of ELM using only the original dataset which is 85%. © 2022 IEEE.

Physician scheduling is a critical task that impacts the quality of patient care, staff satisfaction, and operational efficiency in healthcare institutions. The traditional approach to physician scheduling is manual and time-consuming, which can result in errors, staff burnout, and suboptimal schedules. To address these challenges, researchers have turned to optimization techniques like CSP, which has shown promise in solving physician scheduling problems. This paper reviews the existing literature on CSP for physician scheduling and highlights the benefits and limitations of this approach. CSP's benefits include generating schedules quickly and efficiently, incorporating complex constraints and preferences, and handling changes and disruptions in real time. However, CSP also has some limitations, such as the need for a formalized model and the fact that it may not always generate the most intuitive schedules. Overall, the findings suggest that CSP is a promising approach to physician scheduling that can produce high-quality schedules while minimizing staff burnout and improving operational efficiency.

A vast number of spatiotemporal datasets collected from a wide range of sources has motivated scientists to develop effective approaches to identify interesting patterns hidden in these datasets. In this respect, kernel density estimators, which belong to a class of non-parametric estimators in statistics, have been widely exploited in recent years. With this background, we have developed a novel kernel density estimator aiming to provide accurate analysis results. According to the evaluation with a real spatiotemporal dataset, which collected emergency medical service records in a county in the United States, the proposed kernel density estimator can approximate the probability density function significantly more accurately than a conventional kernel density estimator. Furthermore, we have exploited the proposed kernel density estimator to identify interesting patterns hidden in the real spatiotemporal dataset.

White Blood Cell(WBC)cancer or leukemia is one of the serious cancers that threaten the existence of human *** spite of its prevalence and serious consequences,it is mostly diagnosed through manual *** risks of inappropriate,sub-standard and wrong or biased diagnosis are high in manual ***,there is a need exists for automatic diagnosis and classification method that can replace the manual *** is mainly classified into acute and chronic *** current research work proposed a computer-based application to classify the *** the feature extraction stage,we use excellent physical properties to improve the diagnostic system’s accuracy,based on Enhanced Color Co-Occurrence *** study is aimed at identification and classification of chronic lymphocytic leukemia using microscopic images of WBCs based on Enhanced Virtual Neural Network(EVNN)*** proposed method achieved optimum accuracy in detection and classification of leukemia from WBC ***,the study results establish the superiority of the proposed method in automated diagnosis of *** values achieved by the proposed method in terms of sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,and error rate were 97.8%,89.9%,76.6%,and 2.2%,***,the system could predict the disease in prior through images,and the probabilities of disease detection are also highly optimistic.

Background: To evaluate the effect of the weighting of input imaging combo and ADC threshold on the performance of the U-Net and to find an optimized input imaging combo and ADC threshold in segmenting acute ischemic stroke (AIS) lesion. Methods: This study retrospectively enrolled a total of 212 patients having AIS. Four combos, including ADC-ADC-ADC (AAA), DWI-ADC-ADC (DAA), DWI-DWI-ADC (DDA), and DWI-DWI-DWI (DDD), were used as input images, respectively. Three ADC thresholds including 0.6, 0.8 and 1.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s were applied. Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) was used to evaluate the segmentation performance of U-Nets. Nonparametric Kruskal–Wallis test with Tukey–Kramer post-hoc tests were used for comparison. A p <.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The DSC significantly varied among different combos of images and different ADC thresholds. Hybrid U-Nets outperformed uniform U-Nets at ADC thresholds of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s and 0.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s (p <.001). The U-Net with imaging combo of DDD had segmentation performance similar to hybrid U-Nets at an ADC threshold of 1.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s (p =.062 to 1). The U-Net using the imaging combo of DAA at the ADC threshold of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s achieved the highest DSC in the segmentation of AIS lesion. Conclusions: The segmentation performance of U-Net for AIS varies among the input imaging combos and ADC thresholds. The U-Net is optimized by choosing the imaging combo of DAA at an ADC threshold of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s in segmentating AIS lesion with highest DSC.
