Deep convolutional neural network (CNN) achieves remarkable performance for medical image analysis. UNet is the primary source in the performance of 3D CNN architectures for medical imaging tasks, including brain tumor segmentation. The skip connection in the UNet architecture concatenates features from both encoder and decoder paths to extract multi-contexual information from image data. The multi-scaled features play an essential role in brain tumor segmentation. However, the limited use of features can degrade the performance of the UNet approach for segmentation. In this paper, we propose a modified UNet architecture for brain tumor segmentation. In the proposed architecture, we used densely connected blocks in both encoder and decoder paths to extract multi-contexual information from the concept of feature reusability. The proposed residual inception blocks (RIB) are used to extract local and global information by merging features of different kernel sizes. We validate the proposed architecture on the multimodal brain tumor segmentation challenges (BRATS) 2020 testing dataset. The dice (DSC) scores of the whole tumor (WT), tumor core (TC), and enhancement tumor (ET) are 89.12%, 84.74%, and 79.12%, respectively. The primary challenge in tracing the participants in sports and marathon video or images is to detect and localize the jersey/Bib number that may present in different regions of their outfit captured in cluttered environment conditions. In this work, we proposed a new framework based on detecting the human body parts such that both Jersey Bib number and text is localized reliably. To achieve this, the proposed method first detects and localize the human in a given image using Single Shot Multibox Detector (SSD). In the next step, different human body parts namely, Torso, Left Thigh, Right Thigh, that generally contain a Bib number or text region is automatically extracted. These detected individual parts are processed individually to detect the Jersey Bib number/text using a deep CNN network based on the 2-channel architecture based on the novel adaptive weighting loss function. Finally, the detected text is cropped out and fed to a CNN-RNN based deep model abbreviated as CRNN for recognizing jersey/Bib/text. Extensive experiments are carried out on the four different datasets including both bench-marking dataset and a new dataset. The performance of the proposed method is compared with the state-of-the-art methods on all four datasets that indicates the improved performance of the proposed method on all four datasets. © 2019 IEEE.

With the fast development of 3D imaginations becomes more and more fascination, multi-view stereo based 3D reconstruction is a significant technique for those application. To facilitate the subsequent processing of 3D reconstruction and reduce the possibility of other algorithms falling into local optimal solutions, attempting to get better and faster performance, a new parallax calculation based on symmetric continuous optimization is proposed in this paper. The algorithm is proposed here will be tested respectively in the same data, in order to certificate the algorithm applied is better than traditional minimize El algorithm.

WISERNet: Wider Separate-then-reunion Network for Steganalysis of Color Images

Until recently, deep steganalyzers in spatial domain have been all designed for gray-scale images. In this paper, we propose WISERNet (the wider separate-then-reunion network) for steganalysis of color images. We provide theoretical rationale to claim that the summation in normal convolution is one sort of "linear collusion attack" which reserves strong correlated patterns while impairs uncorrelated noises. Therefore in the bottom convolutional layer which aims at suppressing correlated image contents, we adopt separate channel-wise convolution without summation instead. Conversely, in the upper convolutional layers we believe that the summation in normal convolution is beneficial. Therefore we adopt united normal convolution in those layers and make them remarkably wider to reinforce the effect of "linear collusion attack". As a result, our proposed wide-and-shallow, separate-then-reunion network structure is specifically suitable for color image steganalysis. We have conducted extensive experiments on color image datasets generated from BOSSBase raw images and another large-scale dataset which contains 100,000 raw images, with di_erent demosaicking algorithms and downsampling algorithms. The experimental results show that our proposed network outperforms other state-of-the-art color image steganalytic models either hand-crafted or learned using deep networks in the literature by a clear margin. Specifically, it is noted that the detection performance gain is achieved with less than half the complexity compared to the most advanced deeplearning steganalyzer as far as we know, which is scarce in the literature. In embedded Internet of Things(IOT) environment, there are the troubles such as complex background, illumination changes, shadows and other factors for detecting moving object, so we put forward a new detection service method through mixing Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM), edge detection service method and continuous frame difference method in this paper. In time domain, the new method uses GMM to model and updates the background. In spatial domain, it uses the hybrid detection service method which mixes edge detection service method, continuous frame difference method and GMM to get initial contour of moving object, and gets ultimate moving object. This method not only can well adapt to the illumination gradients and background disturbance occurred on scene, but also can well solve some problems such as inaccurate target detection, incomplete edge detection, cavitation and ghost which usually appears in traditional method. As experimental result showing, this method holds better real-time and robustness. It is not only easily implemented, but also can accurately detect moving object.

information hiding based on error correcting code is one of the difficulties in information hiding research. Current information hiding algorithms cannot confirm the upper bound of covert channel capacity when channels are interfered. In this paper, a capacity self-adaption information hiding algorithm based on RS code is proposed to solve this problem. Firstly, Channel covert communication model is designed to describe the realization of information hiding algorithms based on the m-sequence. Secondly, the upper bound of embedding capacity of secret information based on block code and RS code is separately analyzed in theory. Thirdly, simulation verification is implemented under the supposed channel environment. Experimental results demonstrated that experimental values are consistent with the theoretical values, and in terms of the embedding rate, the performance of the RS code is better than the performance of recurrent code and block code. © 2014 IEEE.

Recent studies indicate that the energy cost and carbon footprint of data centers have become exorbitant. It is a demanding and challenging task to reduce energy consumption in large-scale storage systems in modern data centers. Most energy conservation techniques inevitably have adverse impacts on parallel disk systems. To address the reliability issues of energy-efficient parallel disks, we propose a reliable energy-efficient RAID system called REED, which aims at improving both energy efficiency and reliability of RAID systems by seamlessly integrating HDDs and SSDs. At the heart of REED is a high-performance cache mechanism powered by SSDs, which are serving popular data. Under light workload conditions, REED spins down HDDs into the low-power mode, thereby offering energy conservation. Importantly, during an I/O access turbulence (i.e., I/O load is dynamically and frequently changing), REED is conducive to reducing the number of disk power-state transitions by keeping HDDs in the low-power mode while serving requests with SSDs. We build a model to quantitatively show that REED is capable of improving the reliability of energy-efficient RAIDs. We implement the REED prototype in a real-world RAID-0 system. Our experimental results demonstrate that REED improves the energy-efficiency of conventional RAID-0 by up to 73% while maintaining good reliability.

Requirements Elicitation (RE) is a critical process in system/software engineering. Its goal is to capture the stakeholders expectations, needs and constraints, which can be elicited, analyzed and specified as requirements. Gathering the requirements correctly, clearly and completely in a natural way is a typical challenging problem, because requirements analysts always play key roles in the elicitation process dominantly while stakeholders participate in passively. In this paper, we propose a collective intelligence driven business process oriented requirements acquisition and refining method. Its aim is to reduce the requirements analysts dominance and promote stakeholders self-expression and self-improvement to elicit requirements clearly and completely. It adopts the group storytelling method to promote the collaboration and communication among stakeholders, utilizes the narrative network model to enhance the associations among story fragments, and introduces dialogue game theory to guide the progressive refining. At the same time, the activity theory is adopted as the description framework to present the method and an application example is introduced. Finally, a pilot experiment is carried out to evaluate its perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use;and the actual quality of the requirements based on the degree of completeness and understandability in comparison with JAD. The results show that the requirements elicited by BPCRAR are more complete and understandable than JAD. In addition, the BPCRAR is perceived usefulness and ease of use in the experiment. © 2014 ACM.
