Driven by advances in generative artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and algorithms, the widespread adoption of AI-generated content (AIGC) has emerged, allowing for the generation of diverse and high-quality content. Especially, the diffusion model-based AIGC technique has been widely used to generate content in a variety of modalities. However, the real-world implementation of AIGC models, particularly on resource-constrained devices such as mobile phones, introduces significant challenges related to energy consumption and privacy concerns. To further promote the realization of ubiquitous AIGC services, we propose a novel collaborative distributed diffusion-based AIGC framework. By capitalizing on collaboration among devices in wireless networks, the proposed framework facilitates the efficient execution of AIGC tasks, optimizing edge computation resource utilization. Furthermore, we examine the practical implementation of the denoising steps on mobile phones, the impact of the proposed approach on the wireless network-aided AIGC landscape, and the future opportunities associated with its real-world integration. The contributions of this paper not only offer a promising solution to the existing limitations of AIGC services but also pave the way for future research in device collaboration, resource optimization, and the seamless delivery of AIGC services across various devices. The advent of a new breed of enhanced multimedia services has put network operators into a position where they must support innovative services while ensuring both end-to-end Quality of Service requirements and profitability. Recently, Network Function Virtualization (NFV) has been touted as a cost-effective underlying technology in 5G networks to efficiently provision novel services. These NFV-based services have been increasingly associated with multi-domain networks. However, several orchestration issues, linked to cross-domain interactions and emphasized by the heterogeneity of underlying technologies and administrative authorities, present an important challenge. In this paper, we tackle the cross-domain interaction issue by proposing an intelligent and profitable auction-based approach to allow inter-domains resource allocation. Phased arrays are crucial in various technologies, such as radar and wireless communications, due to their ability to precisely control and steer electromagnetic waves. This precise control improves signal processing and enhances imaging performance. However, extending phased arrays to the terahertz (THz) frequency range has proven challenging, especially for high-frequency operation, broadband performance, two-dimensional (2D) phase control with large antenna arrays, and strong phase modulation. Here, we introduce a photonic platform to realize a THz phased array that bypasses the above challenges. Our method employs 2D phase coding with 2-bit across a broad THz frequency range from 0.8 to 1.4 THz. The core of our design is a pixelated nonlinear Pancharatnam-Berry metasurface driven by a spatially modulated femtosecond laser, allowing precise phase control of THz signals. We showcase the effectiveness of our method through four proof-of-concept applications: single beamforming, dual beamforming, imaging and vortex beam generation. The realized photonic platform provides a promising pathway for developing broadband phased arrays in the THz regime. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, we continue our investigations on digital nomadism and the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the work-related aspects and lifestyle of digital nomads (DN). The findings presented in this empirical study reflect the analysis of the impact of COVID-19 outbreak (and its waves) on the market economy and work-life boundaries of DNs as perceived from posts and comments gathered from a Reddit community during the period of early March 2020 until the end of 2022. From this point, our results indicate that the massification of remote work among formal workers in response to COVID-19 pandemic has impacted both the formal labor market and the DN ecosystem. As a consequence, we argue that digital nomadism tends to play a critical role beyond work from (almost) anywhere (WFA) in a post-COVID-19 era taking into account the novel facets of nomadic work-lifestyle.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the most common injuries associated with sports. Knee osseous morphology can play a role in increased knee instability. Our hypothesis is that the morphological features of the knee, as seen in knee osseous morphology, can contribute to increased knee instability and, thus, increase the likelihood of ACL tear. To test this relationship, it is necessary to segment the femur and tibia bones and extract relevant imaging features. However, manual annotation of 3D medical images, such as on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, can be a time-consuming and challenging task. In this work, we propose an automated pipeline for creating pseudo-masks of the femur and tibia bones in knee MRI. Our approach involves unsupervised segmentation and deep learning models to classify ACL integrity (intact or torn). Our results demonstrate a high agreement between the automated pseudo-masks and a radiologist's manual segmentation, which also leads to comparable AUC values for the ACL integrity classification. © 2023 SPIE.

In this study, we propose a generalized algorithm for far-field radar cross-section determination by using 3-D synthetic aperture imaging with arbitrary antenna-scanning surfaces. This method belongs to a class of techniques called image-based near-field-to-far-field transformation. The previous image-based approaches have been formulated based on a specific antenna-scanning trajectory or surface, such as a line, plane, circle, cylinder, and sphere;majority of these approaches consider 2-D radar images to determine the azimuth radar cross-section. We generalize the conventional image-based technique to accommodate an arbitrary antenna-scanning surface and consider a 3-D radar image for radar cross-section prediction in both the azimuth and zenith directions. We validate the proposed algorithm by performing numerical simulations and anechoic chamber measurements. © 2021, CC BY.

The development of the smartphones that rapidly increasing, and high smartphone Users as a tool to make a lot of information, make emergence of instant messaging applications with a variety of options for use. Telegram, as one of the instant messaging application that is fairly new, offering in its various features compared to other instant messaging applications, so it can grow rapidly and much in demand in only 2 years. One of the interesting features is the Bot telegram, a special account without number that can handle Command from the User and gives answers appropriate to Command functionality. The account serves as the interface of the running system that communicate via Telegram Bot API. This study seeks to build a Bot telegram with database to built The Online Test application uses Telegram Bots Version 1.0. In each lecture meeting, a Lecturer can make a short test in the form of multiple choices to review the material at the previous meeting and get information about what percentage of students understand the material that has been taught before. We can use the application to send realtime messages to facilitate the test. Of course, which supports the creation of bots easily to add features that did not yet exist. Of the many we chose Telegram to be an online test environment by utilizing the Bot creation facilities provided by Telegram. This article will be a guide that makes it easier for lecturers to give a simple test at the beginning of the meeting, so that they can attract students' daily grades. And in order to be more interactive there are features of student value progress reports that can also be accessed individually so that students can know the progress of their learning outcomes. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Vibrations transmitted throughout the hand and arm during touch contact play a central role in haptic science and engineering but are challenging to model or experimentally characterize. Here, we present SkinSource, a data-driven toolbox for predicting skin vibrations across the upper limb in response to user-specified input forces. The toolbox leverages impulse response measurements that encode the physics of vibration transmission across the hands and arms of four participants and provides software tools for analyzing the predicted skin responses. We show that the SkinSource predictions closely match experimental measurements and confirm the underlying assumption of linear vibration transmission in the skin. We also demonstrate through several usage examples how SkinSource can act as a versatile computational platform for haptic research applications, such as characterizing vibrotactile transmission in the skin, engineering haptic interfaces, and investigating touch perception.
