In recent years Z-number concept naturally arise in the areas of control decision making, forecasting, modeling of complex systems and others. Unfortunately up to day there are no effective software of Z-arithmetic is existence. In this paper for first time we present software for Z-arithmetic. Long time exploration of this software shows that the suggested software satisfies all requirements of software quality standards ISO 9126.

Imparting real world experiences in a software verification and validation (SV&V) course is often a challenge due to the lack of effective active learning tools. This pedagogical requirement is important because graduates are expected to develop software that meets rigorous quality standards in functional and application domains. Realizing the necessity of such teaching tools, the authors designed and developed eighteen (18) delivery hours of Case Studies, sixteen (16) delivery hours of Class Exercises, and six (6) delivery hours of Video Case Studies for use in courses that impart knowledge on SV&V topics viz. requirements engineering, software reviews, configuration management, and software testing. Four key skill areas sought after by employers, namely communication skills, applied knowledge of methods, applied knowledge of tools, and research exposure are used to drive the development funded by a National Science Foundation grant and perfected through an industry-academia partnership. In this paper, we discuss in detail the four project plans the researchers and their industry counterparts followed over the past two years in the development and eventual dissemination of active learning tools. A course enhancement plan was used to drive activities related to reviewing, enhancing, and modularizing modules, identified by a gap analysis performed by focus groups comprised of industry and academic partners. The course delivery plan was used to drive activities related to developing content delivery strategies. An evaluation and assessment plan was used to drive activities related to periodically evaluating student learning and assessing the project. And finally a course dissemination plan is being used to drive activities related to disseminating course modules and assessment reports. Active learning tools have been disseminated through a workshop and other means to universities and industry partners. © American Society for engineering Education, 2016.

An effect of tsunami to hotel occupancy: A case of Phuket, Thailand

As a popular city for global tourists, more than one third of the Phuket GPP depends on the hotel and restaurant sector. The 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami caused a serious physical damage to hotels and a high cancellation of bookings in the post disaster period, which, in turn, led to most THB 3 billion drop of the hotel and restaurant sector income in 2005 in Phuket. In addition, many tourism facilities in Phuket suffered bankruptcy or a slump, because they started their business again immediately after the reconstruction phase, while tourists did not really come back. This paper is an initiative study of our research project to evaluate the effects of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami on Hotel Occupancy, with a focus on the speed for the physical reconstruction and tourism market recovery. We collected the physical reconstruction period and the hotel occupancy recovery data of six hotels that located in the Patong Beach of Phuket from 2003 to 2017. Through calculation, the average of damage rate (i.e., unavailability of the rooms in this study) is 55.89%, with an average speed for the physical reconstruction to rebuild the rooms about 6.07% of the overall rooms per month. The quotient of these two values indicates that the reconstruction period is around 9.2 months. However, the average period for reconstruction and tourism recovery is about 20 months. There is an about 11 months' delay between that hotel and resorts have finished the reconstruction and the tourists start to visit Phuket as usual. Therefore, the local government, local tourist authority, and hotel entrepreneurs can consider these findings in order to prepare the recovery plan for tourism industry in the future tsunami.

As a theoretical basis of computation with imprecise and partially reliable information, arithmetic of Z-numbers should be developed with an emphasis of informativeness. In this paper we propose an approach to develop arithmetic of Z-numbers where a result of computation can be obtained with a predefined informativeness level. The proposed approach is based on the use of horizontal membership functions and a measure of specificity concept. An example is used to show validity of the approach.

Stakeholder management is a key area in the management of projects. Correctly identifying key players, managing them and influencing them is crucial for the success of projects and programs. Often though, social networks and management literature has demonstrated that the process of work and ideas do not necessarily flow through organisational hierarchy, but rather through informal networks. In this paper, we discuss an overview of the stakeholder management approaches used and some of its limitations. We propose the use of social network theory and methodology is suggested as a viable perspective for stakeholder identification, analysis and management because of its theoretical and methodological rigour and its ability to provide insightful visualisations and useful network metrics to identify key influencers, bottlenecks, informal groups and so on.
