Enhancing disaster awareness and preparedness is crucial for building resilient societies. This study comprehensively assessed the levels of disaster awareness and preparedness among children and adults in Thailand through qualitative and quantitative surveys. Children strongly emphasized the importance of disaster education in school curricula, leveraging multimedia channels for risk communication, and implementing early warning systems. In contrast, adults exhibited a greater understanding of the significance of business continuity and disaster management technologies. These findings revealed disparities in disaster awareness across age groups. The insights from this study suggest age-specific engineering system approaches to information dissemination, contributing to the development of inclusive disaster preparedness strategies that incorporate diverse stakeholder perspectives. Children highlighted the need for practical training on survival skills, accessible disaster communication through SMS alerts, and monitoring systems for timely information dissemination. Adults, on the other hand, placed greater importance on business continuity planning and recognized the usefulness of technologies like satellite imagery for disaster management. By identifying these gaps and areas for improvement, this research provides valuable guidance for tailoring interventions, fostering a culture of preparedness, and harnessing technological solutions that resonate with the needs and concerns of different age cohorts within Thai society. © 2024 IEEE.

This one-day hybrid workshop builds on previous feminist CSCW workshops to explore feminist theoretical and methodological approaches that have provided us with useful tools to see things differently and make space for change. Since its inception over a decade ago, feminist HCI has progressed from the margins to mainstream HCI, with numerous references in the literature. Feminist HCI has also evolved to incorporate other critical HCI practices such as Queer HCI, participatory design, and speculative design. While feminist approaches have grown in popularity and become mainstream, it is getting more difficult to distinguish the feminist emancipatory core from other attempts of developing and improving society in various ways. In this workshop, we therefore want to revisit our feminist roots, where theory is a liberatory and creative practice, motivated by affect, curiosity, and wonder. From this standpoint, we consider which of our feminist tools can make a significant difference today, in a highly datafied world. The goal of this workshop is to;1) create an inventory of feminist theories and concepts that have had an impact on our work as designers, educators, researchers, and activists;2) develop a feminist toolbox for the CSCW community to strengthen our feminist literacy. © 2023 Owner/Author.

To further enhance the effectiveness of DX promotion, it is necessary to create a DX cycle in which workers in the field and DX-promotion departments cooperate to efficiently and accurately implement effective DX measures over a wide area. Explainable Semantic Communication for Text Tasks

Task-oriented semantic communication has gained increasing attention due to its ability to reduce the amount of transmitted data without sacrificing task performance. Although some prior efforts have been dedicated to developing semantic communications, the semantics in these works remains to be unexplainable. Challenges related to explainable semantic representation and knowledge-based semantic compression have yet to be explored. In this paper, we propose a triplet-based explainable semantic communication (TESC) scheme for representing text semantics efficiently. Specifically, we develop a semantic extraction method to convert text into triplets while using syntactic dependency analysis to enhance semantic completeness. Then, we design a semantic filtering method to further compress the duplicate and task-irrelevant triplets based on prior knowledge. The filtered triplets are encoded and transmitted to the receiver for completing intelligent tasks. Furthermore, we apply the propsed TESC scheme to two emblematic text tasks: sentiment analysis and question answering, in which the semantic codec is meticulously customized for each task. Experimental results demonstrate that 1) TESC scheme outperforms benchmarks in terms of Top-1 accuracy and transmission efficiency, and 2) TESC scheme enjoys about 150% performance gain compared to the traditional communication method. The importance of studying organizations' continuity of follow-up mechanisms is raised by the absence of research conducted on the follow-up mechanisms, especially during sudden pandemics. Therefore, this study attempts to research the continuity of follow-up mechanisms organizations use to monitor projects progress and accomplishment. Also, explore the predictors, problems, and challenges for managing remote working. Follow-up is the monitoring and evaluation of project progress against standards to enable management to make decisions for interventions towards project completion through team communication. Findings show that continuity of follow-up practice during COVID-19 is influenced by remote monitoring challenges and Organization compliance to pandemic restrictions (R2 = 0.35). Organization compliance to pandemic restrictions is a function of three determinants related to the organization's behavior regarding monitoring structure, internal policies, and communication and resource facilities (R2 = 0.54). Researchers used the mixed method approach consist of quantitative and qualitative methods. A survey was randomly distributed to an achievable sample of 158 respondents, followed by interviews with twelve decision-makers, including managers and executives in selected organizations. The study suggests more technological tools and applications for improving followup performance and overcoming remote monitoring challenges. © 2021 IEEE.

Hybrid systems play a crucial role in modeling real-world applications where discrete and continuous dynamics interact, including autonomous vehicles, power systems, and traffic networks. Safety verification for these systems requires determining whether system states can enter unsafe regions under given initial conditions and uncertainties—a question directly addressed by reachability analysis. However, hybrid systems present unique difficulties because their state space is divided into multiple regions with distinct dynamic models, causing traditional data-driven methods to produce inadequate over-approximations of reachable sets at region boundaries where dynamics change abruptly. This paper introduces a novel approach using hybrid zonotopes for data-driven reachability analysis of piecewise affine systems. Our method addresses the boundary transition problem by developing computational algorithms that calculate the family of set models guaranteed to contain the true system trajectories. This study focused on urban green spaces in the Yangtze River Delta region as the subject of research. Field surveys were conducted on 81 green spaces in July 2023, during which basic information about the plant communities was documented. By utilizing instruments such as temperature and humidity meters, the temperature and humidity data of various types of green vegetation communities were measured. The findings revealed that square green space and park green space exhibited superior cooling and humidification effects, whereas road green spaces and residential green spaces exhibited inferior effects. Additionally, arbor–grass and arbor–shrub–grass structured communities witnessed more favorable cooling and humidification effects, while arbor–shrub structured communities demonstrated the poorest effects. In terms of vegetation community growth types, the cooling and humidification effects ranked as follows from highest to lowest: coniferous and broadleaved mixed type > evergreen broadleaved type > evergreen and deciduous broadleaved mixed type > deciduous broadleaved type. When the threshold of canopy closure fell between 0.72–0.88, the cooling effect was notably enhanced, and the cooling rate of green spaces remained above 3.8%. In addition, three optimized patterns of plant community configuration were provided, thereby offering theoretical support for urban green space planning and plant application design. © 2024, The Authors. Digital financial technology adoption (DFTA) studies published in Scopus between 2019 and 2022 were examined in this study. After that, we assessed relevant literature, did bibliometric studies, and examined publication and citation patterns. The statistics showed 2643 citations and 176 publications. DFTA research has gained popularity when time-varying TP and TC values increased gradually. This topic's most popular sources are "articles" and "Sustainability (Switzerland)". A search of DFTA research stakeholders revealed several authors, organizations, and nations. Most famously associated with the University of Johannesburg in South Africa, David Mhlanga has produced more publications than anyone else. The National Natural Science Foundation and other Chinese donors who dominate DFTA research funding contributed to researchers' and affiliations' output. Cluster and hotspot analysis revealed two themes, "Digital financial technology adoption" and "sustainable Banking Inclusion," and three keywords, Digital financial technology adoption, monetary inclusion, and finance. According to the examined literature, DFTA's effects on international financial stability and GDP growth are understudied. Future research should examine DFTA's environmental impact, long-term profitability, and commercial strategies for low-income and rural communities.

The article is devoted to the development of means for recognition of the emotions of the speaker, based on the neural network analysis of fixed fragments of the voice signal. The possibility of improving recognition tools through the use of a convolutional neural network of the GoogLeNet type is shown. The expediency of training the network on the examples of the TESS database is determined. A procedure for representing a voice signal in the form of a square grayscale image has been developed. Based on the use of the specified database, the modification of the GoogLeNet network was carried out. The architecture and software implementation of the recognition module have been developed. With the help of computer experiments, it has been established that after 150 epochs of training on a fairly limited training sample, the modified GoogLeNet makes it possible to achieve an accuracy of recognition of the speaker's emotions of approximately 0.97 on test examples. The obtained accuracy is comparable to the accuracy of the best modern systems of this purpose and confirms the promise of using neural network models like GoogLeNet for emotion recognition based on voice signal analysis. The need for further research aimed at reducing the resource intensity of the neural network model is shown. © 2022 IEEE.

Learning-based robust resource allocation for D2D underlaying cellular network

In this paper, we study the resource allocation in D2D underlaying cellular network with uncertain channel state information (CSI). For satisfying the diversity requirements of different users, i.e. the minimum rate requirement for cellular user and the reliability requirement for D2D user, we attempt to maximize the cellular user’s throughput whilst ensuring a chance constraint for D2D user. Then, a robust resource allocation framework is proposed for solving the highly intractable chance constraint about D2D reliability requirement, where the CSI uncertainties are represented as a deterministic set and the reliability requirement is enforced to hold for any uncertain CSI within it. Then, a symmetrical-geometry-based learning approach is developed to model the uncertain CSI into polytope, ellipsoidal and box. After that, we derive the robust counterpart of the chance constraint under these uncertainty sets as the computation convenient convex sets. To overcome the conservatism of the symmetrical-geometry-based uncertainty sets, we develop a support vector clustering (SVC)-based approach to model uncertain CSI as a compact convex uncertainty set. Based on that, the chance constraint of D2D is converted into a linear convex set. Then, we develop a bisection search-based power allocation algorithm for solving the resource allocation in D2D underlaying cellular network with different robust counterparts.
