The COVID-19 pandemic brought major changes in the education field in Indonesia. The face-to-face learning system that usually dominates the school learning system has changed to an online learning system. The purpose of this study is to reveal how much the correlation between mathematics learning outcomes and students self-regulated learning in elementary schools when online-based learning systems were applied during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is a quasi-experiment of the fractions topic which applied to 54 students from one of the elementary schools in central Jakarta, Indonesia. Mathematics learning outcomes test and self-regulated learning questionnaires are given before and after online learning is conducted. Online learning is done with a group of the WhatsApp application and learning videos that are broadcasted through the YouTube channel. The results of the study show that the correlation between mathematics learning outcomes and self-regulated learning of elementary school students is 0.424. Based on the criteria from Guilford, the magnitude of the correlation value is in the medium criteria. The results of the study concluded that there is a correlation between mathematics learning outcomes and students self-regulated learning. The higher the student mathematics learning outcomes, the higher the self-regulated student circulation, and vice versa. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

While several content management systems (CMS) and audience analytics tools are available for digital signage in the market, they are often sold separately and can be expensive. Therefore, this project aims to design a cost-effective and unified web-based solution for digital signage that combines content management and audience analytics functions, reducing the need for multiple purchases. This can be achieved by utilizing Raspberry Pi technology, known for its cost-effectiveness and versatility in integrations, along with a face recognition camera and machine learning methods. This proof of concept demonstrates the integration of these components to create a dynamic digital signage system. Overall, this project has the potential to offer an affordable solution for companies aiming to efficiently manage and optimize their digital marketing strategies, especially in the Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) Advertising space. © 2023 IEEE.

This research is ongoing research into the student learning process which aims to develop artificial intelligence-based technology to calculate essay exam scores automatically, based on the textual proximity of students' answers to the answer key. This research uses an approach based on natural language processing (NLP) and text analysis. Feature extraction was carried out using the BERT model and similarity comparison using the Cosine distance method. Model evaluation was carried out using sensitivity and specificity tests. The model evaluation results show a sensitivity of 98.21%, which means this assessment model is able to detect positive cases well. © 2023 IEEE.

Development and growth in children must be stimulated properly in order to occur optimally. In the phase of growth and development, children spend most of their time playing. Generally, children have high learning abilities and curiosity. Today, children have started to become familiar with gadgets and digital games. Unfortunately most of the games that are played more suitable for adults. Not infrequently due to lack of parental supervision and lack of choice to play make children addicted to games that are not suitable for them. Actually, in this phase children need to get interesting positive stimulus to hone their intelligence. For that condition, one of many solution is the availability of games for learning media. This paper tries to analyze and design prototypes of N-Ram Digital Games for children. N-Ram digital games are games for learning geometry in children. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) with a waterfall approach in Software Development. The result of the analysis and design of this prototype is N-Ram Digital Games to learn geometry through pairing and adjusting images accordingly, and building a geometric shape from several available geometric shapes. © 2020 EAI.

Curriculum change is one of the challenges in the daily practice of education. In The Vocational High School of Computer and Networking Engineering majors as particular, the curriculum changes provide an update on Core Competencies and Basic Competencies (KIKD). Some of these changes include the emergence of core competencies in reviewing fiber optic networks, using fiber optic work tools, making fiber optic connections, repairing fiber optic networks and so on. The consequence of the emergence of the KIKD renewal is that teachers are required to improve their competence in the field of fiber optics. Currently, learning related to fiber optics is only given theoretically. This is due to the lack of teacher competence and limited support for tools and materials for fiber optic practicum. Based on the nature and purpose, the research uses the Research and Development (RnD) method. Therefore, a solution is needed so that KIKD needs can be met in accordance with the new adapted curriculum. We found that more than 75% of teachers stated that they could adapt better by participating in the workshop activities. So that, this program has provide fiber optic workshops to Vocational High School teachers of Computer and Networking Engineering majors in Purwakarta with the acceleration in the adaptation of the new curriculum for them.

Digitalization in industrial revolution 4.0 era has many impacts towards all aspects of life. Massive technology advancement shifts industrial demands in Indonesia from quantitative to qualitative demands. These qualitative demands can be interpreted that today's industry workforce not only need technique competencies but also must have good Computational Thinking (CT) which is the pillar of collaboration, communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills. This issue did not balance with the enhancement of cognitive skills of Indonesians, especially youth or millennial generation. Millennial generation required to overcome multilevel challenges to improve thinking skills particularly on individual level. The low level of intrinsic motivation in using computational thinking to solve its problem became one of millennial culture characteristics. One of the solutions is cultivate student's intrinsic motivation to use CT by utilize Ikigai concept on teaching and learning activities from early grade. The Ikigai role as motivation template has been endure for millennia and proven, if used properly, to be most important factor that help eastern culture people achieve self-actualization. This study aims to develop instructional design that include Ikigai concept to support the achievement of intellectual competencies. Product development is done by Research and Development (R&D) Method with Akker procedure scheme. Product expected to improve students CT in accordance to standard needed in industrial 4.0 era. At this point, we currently at Empirical Testing phase. As expected, we got good response from teacher for product's ease of use and provide clear assessment of students CT Skills. Student that can be described as skilled programmer often have poor communication or collaboration skills with societies. However, when the students have clear life-goal, those lack of social skills are gradually improved. Otherwise, student with good social skills but has poor technique (

Hot-carrier solar cells offer the potential for enhanced power conversion efficiency by tapping into the kinetic energy of hot carriers generated upon sunlight absorption. This involves using specially designed materials capable of efficiently extracting and utilizing the energy of these hot carriers to produce electrical power. Here, we observed such a hot carrier effect in hexamine doped methylammonium lead triiodide perovskite solar cells when exposed to 100 mW/cm2 of 5000 K white LED light. We discovered that these perovskite solar cells exhibited remarkable power conversion efficiency, reaching up to 54.22% with the Voc (open-circuit voltage) and Jsc (short-circuit current density) values were measured at 1.10 V and 54 mA/cm2, respectively. In comparison, under similar conditions but using a solar simulator, the power conversion efficiency remained below 20%. Our results suggest that the high PCE under white LED irradiation is due to the fine resonance between the light energy and perovskite band gap energy, enabling long carrier lifetime and then allowing massive photovoltaics process. These findings highlight the alternative to achieve hot carrier’s perovskite solar cells and efficient energy generation by converting light energy into the wavelength match with the perovskite materials absorber energy band gap.

The Mekong River Basin (MRB) is crucial for the livelihoods of over 60 million people across six Southeast Asian countries. Understanding long-term sediment changes is crucial for management and contingency plans, but the sediment concentration data in the MRB are extremely sporadic, making analysis challenging. This study focuses on reconstructing long-term suspended sediment concentration (SSC) data using a novel semi-supervised machine learning (ML) model. The key idea of this approach is to exploit abundant available hydroclimate data to reduce training overfitting rather than solely relying on sediment concentration data, thus enhancing the accuracy of the employed ML models. Extensive experiments on daily hydroclimate and SSC data obtained from 1979 to 2019 at the three main stations (i.e., Chiang Saen, Nong Khai, and Mukdahan) are conducted to demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed method compared to the state-of-the-art supervised techniques (i.e., Random Forest, XGBoost, CatBoost, MLP, CNN, and LSTM), and surpasses existing semi-supervised methods (i.e., CoReg, ⊓ Model, ICT, and Mean Teacher). This approach is the first semi-supervised method to reconstruct sediment data in the field and has the potential for broader application in other river systems. © 2024 The Author(s)
