Cloud Computing Assisted Mobile Healthcare Systems Using Distributed Data Analytic Model

Distributed cloud technologies enable mobile healthcare applications to support end users constantly. Data from electronic health records is made available through combination of user needs and heuristic mining. Because of inefficient data storage and reorganization, service and recommendation failures occur prematurely. A Distributed Data Analytics and Organization Model (DDAOM) is established in this article as a solution to the inefficiency of managing large amounts of data. Using this method, errors caused by performing several computations or storing large amounts of data in the medical field are minimized. Data organization and mining under predetermined schedules or factors provide information relevant to user services. One-to-many computations with varying input and output data allocations (for services) are executed in federated learning. The local input from several edges may be handled by allocating storage in a decentralized manner. The federated learning system uses the memory of past states to direct the allocation. Differentiating the states is necessary to allocate services and prevent mining in certain areas. With the help of realistic learning iterations, state management is maintained, guaranteeing the smooth deployment of services. Delays in storage and mining, uneven service provisioning, and service backlogs are used to evaluate the effectiveness of the suggested model. IEEE

The extensive use of government mobile applications in Indonesia and Malaysia has significantly enhanced the delivery of public services. However, this rapid digital transformation also raises critical security and privacy concerns. This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the security features of various government mobile applications in these two countries. this study involves deep examination of 50 publicly available government mobile apps from Indonesia and Malaysia, from Google Play. This research focuses on certificate signing mechanisms, and unprotected component analysis. Based on the findings, several security and privacy vulnerabilities in the analyzed applications. This highlights a potential vulnerability in the signing mechanisms used by government mobile apps. Furthermore, nearly 40% of the apps contain exported components that could serve as a surface for potential malicious activities, increasing the risk of attacks and unauthorized access. Additionally, there is one app utilizing an advertisement library, which is uncommon for official government apps and raises concerns regarding the exposure of user data to third-party advertisers. The findings underscore the importance of addressing security flaws and ensuring robust privacy measures in government mobile applications to safeguard users' personal data and strengthen public trust in digital government services. © 2025 IEEE.

Higher education in Mauritius is undergoing major curricular changes. To cope with these changes and to reach a wider and more diversified public, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are using information and Communication technology (ICT) tools like customized teaching, online learning and virtual campus. Online learning platforms widely adopted by Université des Mascareignes (UdM) offer learners and teachers hybrid education—blended learning, referred to as technology-mediated instruction. Hybrid learning mixes online educational resources and online engagement with traditional classroom techniques. When hybridizing courses, the pedagogical and technical teaching methods are reconsidered. This article examines the application of the Hy-Sup Model, a hybrid system with an Ecosystem typology capable of supporting reusable lifelong learning and facilitating decision-making by concerned parties at different levels. Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks disrupt networks by flooding systems with traffic from multiple sources, making real-time detection essential. Integrating Machine Learning (ML) with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) presents a viable solution;however, existing ML methods often face challenges such as high false positive rates and difficulty detecting sophisticated attacks like low-rate and zero-day DDoS attacks due to inadequate training features. As DDoS attack methods evolve, continuous retraining of ML models becomes necessary. This paper introduces a feature selection approach for ensemble classifiers to improve DDoS detection in SDNs. Through correlation analysis and principal component analysis (PCA), the most relevant features are identified, leading to substantial improvements in model performance. Our evaluation, using diverse DDoS datasets, demonstrates that the proposed method achieves near-perfect accuracy, a 100% true positive rate, and minimal error rates, offering a highly effective solution for DDoS detection in SDNs. © 2024 IEEE.

The 2011 flood in Thailand exposed significant vulnerabilities in industrial areas, highlighting the necessity for enhanced disaster risk management through Area-Business Continuity management (Area-BCM). This preliminary study focuses on identifying how stakeholders rely on information from each other to improve disaster preparedness and response. The research involves systematically identifying Area-BCM stakeholders and designing interview questions, which are evaluated by experts using the Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) to ensure relevance and clarity. All interview questions surpassed the IOC threshold of 0.5, confirming their effectiveness in capturing information interdependencies. Expert feedback led to refinements in the questions, underscoring the importance of tailored data collection. This initial plan provides a critical foundation for understanding information interdependence and highlights the importance of well-designed data collection methods. The findings have significant implications for developing more resilient disaster management strategies in industrial areas, emphasizing the need for precise and relevant stakeholder communication to enhance Area-BCM effectiveness. © 2024 IEEE.

Optimal design and techno-economic analysis of backup systems based on hydrogen/battery/diesel in isolated solar hybrid systems

Isolated solar hybrid systems with backup options are critical for providing reliable energy in remote areas. This study presents a technical-economic-environmental analysis and optimal design of three isolated solar hybrid configurations that incorporate hydrogen energy storage, battery energy storage, and diesel generators. Using real hourly meteorological data, an enhanced particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm was applied to minimize the total net annual cost (TNAC), improve system reliability, and reduce lifecycle emissions (LCE). The study also investigates the impact of reliability, varying subsidy levels for photovoltaic (PV) and different backup technologies and carbon prices on system designs, while sensitivity analyses examine the effects of PV costs, interest rates, fuel prices, solar irradiance, and load demands on the optimal results. Simulation results reveal that the enhanced PSO reduces TNAC by approximately 2.5 % relative to standard PSO and by about 23.1 % compared to Simulated Annealing (SA), while reducing computational time by 25.7 % compared to PSO and 5.3 % compared to SA. Compared to the solar/diesel system, the LCE for the solar/battery and solar/hydrogen systems decreased by 93.8 % and 87.1 %, respectively. These findings indicate that although the Solar/Diesel system may be cost-effective initially, its high emissions and sensitivity to fuel price fluctuations render it less sustainable. In contrast, the Solar/Battery system offers the most favorable environmental profile, while the Solar/Hydrogen system, despite higher upfront costs, provides superior long-term reliability and sustainability. This study offers practical guidelines for selecting backup systems based on economic, environmental, and reliability criteria. © 2025 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC

This study embarked on a rigorous examination of the factors driving user satisfaction and usage behavior in the context of telehealth applications. Utilizing a well- structured Google Form survey, distributed through an array of social media platforms, including WhatsApp, Discord, Instagram, and Line, the research gathered 251 responses. The purposive sampling technique was employed to ensure that the data captured the experiences of individuals who had actively engaged with telehealth services. One hypothesis, relating to the influence of Online Reviews, was found to be unsupported. This surprising result suggests that, contrary to expectations, the opinions and reviews shared online do not significantly affect users' satisfaction or their behavioral decisions in the context of telehealth applications. This finding highlights the need for a more nuanced understanding of the factors influencing user preferences and choices in this rapidly evolving sector. Conversely, other hypotheses examining factors such as Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Perceived Reliability, Price Value, and Purchase Intention were substantiated. The positive influence of these factors on customer usage behavior underscores their significance in shaping user experiences and satisfaction within the telehealth ecosystem. Furthermore, the study posits that facilitating conditions should be closely aligned with technological advancements, as this alignment is conducive to the development of enhanced application features. This insight suggests that telehealth providers should continuously innovate and integrate advanced technologies to ensure that the facilitating conditions meet the ever-evolving needs and expectations of users. © 2023 IEEE.

An integrated land change modeler and distributed hydrological model approach for quantifying future urban runoff dynamics

Climate and land use changes have a significant impact on the runoff generation process in urban environments, and these effects could get worse in the future. The combined contributions of these changes have increased the risk of ***, there is a need for integrated modeling to better understand the runoff variability, especially in small urban catchments. To quantify and separate the effects of land-use changes and climate change on the hydrological response of urban catchments with a distributed hydrological model(Storm Water management Model, SWMM), this study introduces a new integrated approach based on the Machine Learning based land use change modeler and climate change scenarios under *** on supervised classification and land use change model analysis, accumulated impervious area increase from 22%(in2023) to 33%(in 2060) was observed in the study area. Furthermore, integrating this projected increase in imperviousness with future climate change into SWMM by considering three different scenarios i.e., S1(Climate Change), S2(Combined Land Use and Climate Change), and S3(Land use Change) resulted that climate change could cause an increase in runoff from 13.2% to18.3% in peak runoff and the contribution of land use could range from 9.1% to 18.6%. Similarly, in response to the coupled effects of climate and land-use change, the runoff would likely change from 24.53% to 39.66%. Conclusively, the study showed that despite climate change, intensive urban development by the substitution of impervious surfaces could also have a severe impact on the microclimate and hydrology of small catchments. Lastly, this study could provide a way forward for the future planning and management of water resources in small catchments which could be extended to larger catchments.
