Cooperative target detection using infrared and visible images is currently a highly popular approach. This approach is not affected by environmental lighting conditions and can operate around the clock. However, issues such as inaccurate time and spatial synchronization of sensors, target movement, stereo disparity, or other factors leading to positional deviations result in the same target not overlapping completely in different images. This can impact the overall detection performance of the model. To tackle these challenges, this paper introduces a target detection network named TwinFusion-YOLOv9, which integrates features from visible images and infrared images to enhance detection robustness. To ensure the efficiency and accuracy of the solution, a structure suitable for joint target detection based on YOLOv9 was designed. Features from visible and infrared images are separately extracted using a backbone, then fused using a newly designed fusion module, and detection results are obtained using downstream modules. During the training process, an auxiliary detection branch improved from programmable Gradient information (PGI) proposed in YOLOv9 is incorporated to enhance model accuracy and expedite convergence. Experimental results demonstrate that TwinFusion-YOLOv9 exhibits outstanding performance on public datasets, holding both theoretical and practical significance. © 2024 IEEE.

Optimal placement of nodes is essential for achieving efficient network coverage, connectivity, and energy consumption in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). This paper investigates the utilization of Simulated Annealing (SA), a probabilistic optimization technique inspired by the annealing process in metallurgy, for solving the problem of node placement in WSNs. We have developed an approach utilizing simulated annealing that systematically improves the placement of nodes by effectively exploring and exploiting the solution space. We do extensive simulations to assess the effectiveness of the SA-based strategy in comparison to traditional methods. The results suggest that the adoption of SA significantly enhances the scope and excellence of network coverage and connectivity, while concurrently reducing energy consumption. The results highlight the capacity of Simulated Annealing as a dependable and efficient method for enhancing the placement of WSN nodes. This has the potential to result in the creation of sensor networks that are more resilient and consume less energy. © 2024 IEEE.

An electronic double auction of prepaid electricity trading using blockchain technology

Thailand s current energy trading system is an Enhanced Single Buyer (ESB), a market monopoly by a single buyer. It will produce and distribute electricity to service providers in each area, enabling them to distribute services to consumers. In terms of the consumer aspect, it is necessary to purchase electricity from only one seller, and it is not possible to choose the manufacturer independently. Since the price mechanism is not competitive, the market price is mainly determined by a single buyer. Meanwhile, alternative energy power generation technology has progressed. Anyone can become a power producer using wind power or solar energy. People can easily produce electricity to use in their households. Besides, residual energy from use will be sold only to the ESB. However, there is a selling restriction because there is only one buyer. Importantly, Blockchain technology can be applied to enable independent electricity trading. In other words, called peer-To-peer (P2P) trading, the Thai government has policies to promote P2P trading. However, there are not many systems supporting P2P energy trading since P2P trading is still in the beginning stages of the Pilot Project. In this study, the researchers have presented a P2P Power Trading Model using Blockchain technology. This research presents a system with efficiency and simplicity. Also, there are other technology highlights such as IoT, Lora, and Electronic Double Auction. The researcher has designed, implemented, and tested it for actual electrical power trading. It can prove to be traded according to the designed test cases. Importantly, we are truly confident that this research will benefit those interested in developing real-world applications. This research can also be used as an alternative to the traditional power purchase and sale system. © 2022 River Publishers. All rights reserved.

In recent years, government-led 'work style reform' has been promoted, and the teleworking style of work has been attracting attention. In particular, the spread of COVID-19 infection in 2020 has led to the rapid spread of telework. The spread of teleworking has led to a shift to paperless and web conferencing, and the risk of information security has increased due to the location-independent work style. In particular, unlike the face-to-face environment of an office, the telework environment poses psychological risks such as loneliness due to lack of communication. This paper clarifies information security fatigue in a telework environment based on previous research on security fatigue in a face-to-face environment that also considers such psychological aspects, and proposes countermeasures against it. First, we designed a questionnaire that took into account the telework environment based on the questionnaire survey of a previous study, and conducted a questionnaire survey using a web-based questionnaire. Considering the impact of COVID-19, a questionnaire survey was conducted twice, once in December 2020 at the early stage of COVID-19 expansion and once in January 2023 after COVID-19 establishment, both times targeting approximately 500 Japanese teleworkers. The results of these surveys showed that the security fatigue scale in the telework environment was similar to the information security fatigue results in the face-to-face environment of the previous study, with approximately 20% in the ideal state. In other words, security fatigue was found to be the same in a telework environment as in a face-to-face environment. Furthermore, the results of the analysis of the open-ended responses to the questionnaire survey showed similar trends to those indicated in previous studies. This abstract describes the importance of IT Demand management to the strategic planning of organizations information technology innovations where management at all levels are involved in thinking, analyzing, and deciding every important IT investment that it can contribute to business success. This abstract presents a conceptual model, the relationship between EO and TO strategies, and ITDM processes to meet the needs of Optimization of OP that aims to become Innovation Organizations. This result is obtained through a survey study of 50 companies. Samples were management at different levels as the survey can confirm that the ITDM process is an important part of what management needs to know, understand and it can be used as a decision-making tool in organizations strategic planning as well as it can create a process to become good governance. In this paper, we consider a scheduling issue for parcel delivery and pickup services by a truck-drone last-mile delivery system. We are given a single carrier truck and multiple identical drones to serve a finite set of customers. The single carrier truck plays the role of a mobile depot for the drones, and it visits several stops in a given order of them. The given order of stops constitutes a fixed truck route, and the carrier truck is allowed to launch (resp., to retrieve) a drone to (resp., from) a customer at a stop. For each sortie of a drone, the launching stop and the retrieving stop must be the same. The load capacity of a drone is limited to one, and for a sortie of a drone at a stop, there are three options: (i) only deliver a parcel to a customer, (ii) only pick up a parcel from a customer, and (iii) deliver a parcel to a customer, and then pick up a parcel from a customer. The scheduling problem asks to find an assignment of customers to drones with sortie options and a choice of a truck stop for each sortie in the assignment. The objective is to minimize the total duration of the carrier truck over all the stops, which is equivalent to minimizing the makespan. In this paper, we first propose an extended integer program for the case with both delivery and pickup services from an existing one for the case with delivery service only. We also conduct numerical experiments to demonstrate the solution quality of the proposed integer program by utilizing an integer programming solver, and report the results. © 2024 IEEE.

The massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) is a promising candidate for the 5G wireless communication system. In a wireless communication system, channel estimation is a crucial part. Hence, in the presence of pilot contamination (PC), we proposed a low complexity element-wise minimum mean squared error (EW-MMSE) method for channel estimation in the massive MIMO systems. Results verify that our proposed method outperforms the traditional minimum mean squared error (MMSE) estimator in terms of complexity, and in addition, effectively improves the system performance. © 2022, National Taiwan University of Science and technology. At present, the large-scale railway maintenance equipment adopts a diesel engine as the main power plant. Therefore the diesel engine in the event of failure, will seriously affect the large-scale railway maintenance equipment of the normal work. Exploring advanced diesel engine condition monitoring and fault diagnosis technology and looking for practical and effective diesel engine fault diagnosis method, which has already become a research subject widely concerned by many experts at home and abroad. In this paper, genetic algorithm (GA) is used to optimize the parameters of radial basis function (RBF) neural network for diesel engine fault diagnosis, experimental results show the validity of this prediction method, and the accuracy of the proposed algorithm was verified by comparative. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering.

Drug-drug interactions (DDIs) can significantly impact treatment outcomes by causing adverse effects or reducing therapeutic efficacy. Whereas many DDIs are already known, there are numerous hidden interactions. Therefore, this study tries to predict unknown interactions based on drug structure and target information from the Drug Bank dataset. This paper trains the random forest model integrated with a knowledge graph on a dataset containing 922 unique drugs and 731,196 drug interactions. To illustrate the complex interactions between these drugs, we created a knowledge graph with Neo4j. This graph integrates information gathered from the dataset and extracts relevant data using Cypher queries. The inference engine was created according to the model's predictions on unknown DDIs. The random forest model, with an F1-score of 0.82, achieved a recall of 0.99 and a precision of 0.70. Also, 34,580 potential DDIs were extracted from the sample dataset of drugs. By embedding the knowledge network, our inference engine significantly enhanced predicting the hidden interactions and was found strong in the balance of precision and recall. Our research is applicable to the enhancement of drug safety and effectiveness via mitigating potential DDIs by identifying them. © 2024 IEEE.

The concept of Digital Twin has been widely used by researchers to represent physical entities in computer-generated reality in the metaverse. In this research, a novel concept of 'Mobile Twin' is coined. Mobile Twin serves as a replica of a mobile device in the virtual environment enabling communication. The purpose of introducing Mobile Twin in the metaverse is to bring mobility and benefits similar to tangible mobile devices while eliminating the need for individual energy sources, storage limitations, resource usage, and efficiency. The true benefits of a mobile twin can be achieved with an architecture where computing nodes are decentralized, data processing is near the network's edge with faster response times and reduced latency. For this purpose, the mobile twin-based applications of metaverse are built over edge computing-based network architecture. This idea introduced the aspect of 'Revolutionary Ultra-low latency (RULL)' in the metaverse. © 2024 IEEE.
