Query language execution is widely used in big data. The SQL standard is the major query language. Big data has a lot of SQL-like tools, for example: Spark-SQL, Hive, Drill, and Presto. This paper focused on Hive with the Spark engine. To increase Hive's query performance in a case study, NVMe Solid State Devices, we proposed the compressed Parquet file including SNAPPY, gzip, and Zstandard (zstd). Query workloads use TPC-H benchmark. Thus, this compression codec can reduce the main transaction table of TPC-H benchmark by 56%, and some queries have lower CPU usage than Text file. However, the Hive on Spark engine with our proposed compression codecs for Parquet files has lower CPU usage than Text file in some TPC-H queries. Thus, NVMe storage with the Parquet file compression codec is more efficient than text files for improving query performance on the Spark engine. © 2022 IEEE.

Based on WHO's data, breast cancer is one of the most deadly diseases that has claimed many victims, especially women. This disease begins with the presence of an undetected and eventually turns into malignant (cancer). This happens due to ignorance of the importance of having a medical check-up even though in good health. Doctors and researchers can prevent the development of tumor cells through treatment that begins with radiological examinations to identify the possibility of a person being affected by this disease. One of the most frequently used techniques is Mammography. This technique can detect the presence of tumor cells using advanced technology and several methods in displaying the patient's diagnostic results on low-dose X-rays in the form of mammogram images. The technology is inseparable from the methods used to identify the presence of tumor cells. In this study, we have proposed the CNN method based on the deep-CNN model to identify mammogram images in the detection of breast cancer cells with average evaluation results in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, specificity, and f-measure on mammogram image datasets of 99.52%, 99.72%, 99.31%, 99.72%, and 99.5%. These results showed that this method has a good performance in breast cancer detection. © 2023 IEEE.

Wireless sensors and actor networks (WSANs) have been widely used in various fields, from basic data collection to precise real-time control and monitoring, including battlefield monitoring, rescue, and exploration. The actor nodes in a WSAN play a key role in processing and transmitting data, and because of the harsh environmental conditions encountered, network node failures are prone to occur. The failure of an actor causes a loss of connectivity with its neighbor nodes, resulting in network splits and failure to deliver messages between nodes. Therefore, determining how to quickly and autonomously recover network connectivity while minimizing the moving distance of backup nodes and the number of relocated nodes is crucial. In this paper, we propose a dynamic weight-based connectivity recovery (DWCR) method to minimize the total moving distance of actor nodes, the number of relocated nodes, the total messages sent, and the coverage loss rate. The proposed DWCR method involves selecting a backup node for each critical node by dynamically adjusting the weight. If a critical node fails, the backup node starts to move to restore the connectivity of the failed node. The simulation results indicate that the proposed DWCR method outperforms the recovery through inward motion (RIM) method and other methods in terms of minimizing the total moving distance, the number of relocated nodes, and the total messages sent. However, because the RIM algorithm requires the relocation of more nodes during the network process, the DWCR algorithm is slightly inferior to the RIM algorithm in terms of coverage loss rate. Nevertheless, the DWCR algorithm still outperforms the distributed actor recovery algorithm and the distributed autonomous connectivity restoration method based on finite state machine algorithm. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

In this study, we use the CIMulator platform to evaluate the performance of neuromorphic accelerators with novel Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 (HZO) ferroelectric fin field-effect transistor (FefinFET) as synaptic device. The MNIST handwritten digit dataset is used for training and inference processes in multilayer perceptron (MLP) neural networks. With the highly optimized synaptic device, the results demonstrate high training and inference accuracy, achieving up to 97% for the MLP, approaching the accuracy of software implementations. © 2024 IEEE.

The purpose of this research was to design, produce and evaluate a stray child warning system. The device has been designed by using 2 ESP8266 boards to receive signals as specified. The system will notify the information via Line Notify to let users know how far the board that acts as a Client is from the board that acts as an Access Point. Expressed in meters (m) in the notification line notify process. The test results of the system in terms of signal transmission between the Access Point and the Client can work well. Buzzer speaker and LED notification light according to the specified distance every time. Notifications to LINE Notify to mobile phones can be done every time. © 2023 IEEE.

Diagnosability is an important parameter to measure the fault tolerance of a multiprocessor system. If we only care about the state of a node, instead of doing the global diagnosis, Hsu and Tan proposed the idea of local diagnosis. Chiang and Tan provided an extended star structure to diagnose a node under comparison model. In this work, we evaluate the local diagnosability better by proposing a tree structure around this node. We provide the corresponding algorithm to diagnose the node. Simulation results are presented for different failure probability of a node in the tree and different percentage of faulty nodes in the tree, showing the performance of our algorithm. © 2024 Institute of information Science. Tourist destination reviews on Google Maps have become a valuable point of reference for visitors seeking enjoyable spots to visit. Additionally, users can gain insight into the reasons for writing reviews. Text classification is used to determine the motivation behind these reviews. The aim of this study is to compare machine learning (ML) text classification techniques for identifying the intent behind sentiments expressed as complaints (0), suggestions (1), opinions (2), statements(3), and awards (4). The ML techniques assessed are Multinomial Naive Bayes (MNB), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). To achieve this, tourist destination review data sets, comprising 738 reviews, were collected using web scraping from the Google Maps website. Preprocessing stages, including case-folding, tokenisation, filtering and stemming, are executed prior to the data being prepped for feature extraction with TF-IDF. The employed classification models perform well with KNN achieving 1.00 accuracy on a 90:10 data split, and SVM obtaining 0.90 on the same data split. Although, the Multinomial Naive Bayes algorithm with 0.70 accuracy on a 90:10 data split is classified as fair. Comparison of methods was conducted by means of a Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) diagram. The testing accuracy for the SVM method was found to be 95%, MNB at 91%, and KNN at 84%. © 2023 IEEE.

The purpose of this research was to develop a power consumer service support system, a case study of the Provincial Electricity Authority, Chumphon Province. By applying the ITIL version 3 operating framework to be applied in conjunction with the geographic information system, the efficiency of the application of the geographic information system was assessed, the quality of the system was assessed by experts and the satisfaction of general users was assessed. This system was developed to increase the efficiency and accuracy of electricity consumer services. receive follow-up notifications request for service and service complaints Able to display statistical reports in geographic information formats resulting in standardized customer service management. Evaluation results of the efficiency of the system in finding and displaying the coordinates of service locations have an average overall efficiency of F-Measure of 92 percent and the quality assessment of experts at a good level with an average of 4.17 deviations. The standard was 0.51 and the satisfaction assessment results of general users were at a good level with an average of 4.35 and a standard deviation of 0.42 from both groups of assessors. It can be concluded that the developed system can be applied to real work efficiently and effectively © 2023 IEEE.
