This systematic literature review (SLR) study aims to analyze the role of New Media as a Tool to Improve Creative Thinking, with relevant articles from 2018 to 2023 taken from reputable international journals. It uses three research questions (RQ) to explore New Media's relevance in stimulating creativity. The results indicate that interactive platforms such as social media and online collaboration tools positively influence creative thinking skills. Interaction through New Media allows individuals to share ideas, discuss, and be exposed to various points of view, all of which stimulate creative thinking. In addition, New Media also facilitates the creative process of solving problems and generating original ideas. The immersive experiences offered by this technology can enhance the exploration of ideas and increase the ability to think out-of-the-box. While New Media offers great potential to enhance creativity, there are also potential risks, such as false information, media addiction, and privacy concerns. Therefore, awareness of the wise use of New Media needs to be increased, especially in education and everyday life. Overall, this literature review provides in-depth insight into the role of New Media in enhancing creative thinking skills and driving innovation. With the right approach, New Media can be an effective tool in stimulating creative thinking and encouraging the creation of original ideas beneficial for future social and technological developments. © 2023 IEEE.

This article describes the architecture of software services that provide registration of small boat data to build maritime safety. The proposed system architecture which so-called SIMKAPEL aims to support small boat registration for maritime safety. It is developed from a conventional service-oriented architecture (SOA) with an open standard for data interoperability between elements. The goal of this research is to implement and evaluate the proposed architecture to support small boat registration and e-certification. Several parts of the architecture have been implemented as a platform that provides core services and data sources to be used by Ministry of Transportation, Directorate General of Sea Transportation, and other government agencies. Finally, the proposed SIMKAPEL platform with the SOA architecture is evaluated for its benefits to users through the expert opinion survey to measure its efficiency. The analysis results showed that SOA-based SIMKAPEL is feasible to use as a boat e-certification system. Furthermore, experiment results provide three parameters (e.g., maritime safety, namely, cargo/passengers, boat safety facilities, and maritime safety systems) with efficiency values of 42%, 46%, and 42%, respectively. The parameter with the highest efficiency shows a big effect on the level of safety of the boat and passengers. Thus, the parameters that need to be prioritized and need boat owners’ attention are cargo/passenger, boat safety equipment, and maritime safety system. © 2023, The Author(s).

Rhinosinusitis Mucus is mucus produced by mucus glands found in the nose in the paranasal sinus area which indicates inflammation. Segmentation of rhinosinusitis mucus is very difficult to do because of the many characteristics of different objects in the image of the paranasal Sinus CT-Scan in separating the mucus object with its background before the extraction process. The purpose of this study was to accurately identify and measure the mucus area of rhinosinusitis from CT-scan images of rhinosinusitis patients. The test data used in this study is secondary data from CT-Scan of paranasal sinus sagittal view in radiology RSUP M. Djamil Padang, Padang City, West Sumatra, Indonesia, using the Philips Ingenuity CT CT-Scan model type MRC880 numbered Tube series 163889. The segmentation process is carried out to obtain the optimal multi threshold value from each slice of the test image using the Improved Adaptive Multi Threshold (IAMT) segmentation method which produces a binary image to separate the mucus object with its background before the extraction process. Furthermore, the results of IAMT are applied to the identification and extraction model automatically to obtain the area of the rhinosinusitis mucus object. The extraction results were used for 2D to 3D image reconstruction in calculating the volume of rhinosinusitis mucus objects. The test results showed that the smallest area of rhinosinusitis mucus was 0.516 cm2 and the largest was 1.807 cm2, and the average volume was 0.95 cm3 with Accuracy is 96,5%. The identified areas and volumes indicate inflammation in the area of the paranasal sinuses and require treatment. Thus, this study can help doctors in making the right decision to take further medical action. © 2024 IEEE.

According to the trend of worldwide car sales have grown up, this cause may increase accidents on the road due to human error. The self-driverless car has been developed to solve this problem. One task of the self-driverless car is traffic sign detection and recognition (TSDR), which will help drivers notify the traffic sign installed on the road in advance. Taiwan roads have specific traffic signs, and no Taiwan traffic sign public dataset is available. In this paper, our proposed object detection method was experimentally performed using YOLOv5s6 and YOLOv8s models on three different datasets, as Tsinghua-Tencent 100K (TT100k), the self-created Taiwan traffic sign (TWTS), and the hybrid dataset, which combine the traffic scenes between TT100k and TWTS dataset. The output results from each dataset and each model, which is trained on the same parameter, will be compared to validate the proposed method. The experiment results' comparison of the hybrid dataset between YOLOv5s6 and YOLOv8s models display the results of the mAP@.5 is about 65% and 76.2%, respectively, which means the performance of the YOLOv8s is higher than the YOLOv5s6 when using hybrid dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

Wireless sensors and actor networks (WSANs) have been widely used in various fields, from basic data collection to precise real-time control and monitoring, including battlefield monitoring, rescue, and exploration. The actor nodes in a WSAN play a key role in processing and transmitting data, and because of the harsh environmental conditions encountered, network node failures are prone to occur. The failure of an actor causes a loss of connectivity with its neighbor nodes, resulting in network splits and failure to deliver messages between nodes. Therefore, determining how to quickly and autonomously recover network connectivity while minimizing the moving distance of backup nodes and the number of relocated nodes is crucial. In this paper, we propose a dynamic weight-based connectivity recovery (DWCR) method to minimize the total moving distance of actor nodes, the number of relocated nodes, the total messages sent, and the coverage loss rate. The proposed DWCR method involves selecting a backup node for each critical node by dynamically adjusting the weight. If a critical node fails, the backup node starts to move to restore the connectivity of the failed node. The simulation results indicate that the proposed DWCR method outperforms the recovery through inward motion (RIM) method and other methods in terms of minimizing the total moving distance, the number of relocated nodes, and the total messages sent. However, because the RIM algorithm requires the relocation of more nodes during the network process, the DWCR algorithm is slightly inferior to the RIM algorithm in terms of coverage loss rate. Nevertheless, the DWCR algorithm still outperforms the distributed actor recovery algorithm and the distributed autonomous connectivity restoration method based on finite state machine algorithm. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

Quantum encoding is a process to transform classical information into quantum states. It plays a crucial role in using quantum algorithms to solve classical problems, especially in quantum machine learning tasks. There are many QE methods. It is very difficult to determine which QE method to choose to improve classification accuracy. Therefore, this paper will analyze several QE methods. Training and testing on Iris flower datasets were performed in a architecture quantum circuit and some performances parameters were evaluated. The expected result is that we can compare the classification accuracy of some of these Quantum encodings. © 2022 IEEE.

Batik is a cultural heritage of Indonesia, recognized by WHO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. Batik is dyed by skilled craftsmen who make patterns with dots and lines on the fabric from melted wax. The process is complicated, so few people can experience all the steps in crafting Batik. From these problems, immersive learning media are needed so everyone can learn and gain experience in Batik crafting from start to finish. In this study, we will present Nge-BatikVR, a serious game application that introduces Batik through Virtual Reality and offers an immersive experience of learning Batik from various regions with interactive hands-on feature aimed at people to better understand and learn Batik. Nge-BatikVR offers four main features called Sinau (Learn), Kuis (Quiz), Nge-Batik (Simulation) and Toko (Shopping), with the main purpose to present interactive and engaging media useful for introducing and learning Batik with a fully immersive experience. © 2023 IEEE.

Morphing attacks are based on the technique of digitally fusing two (or more) face images into one, with the final visage resembling the contributing faces. Morphed images not only pose a challenge to Face-Recognition Systems (FRS) but also challenge experienced human observers due to high quality, postprocessing eliminating any visible artifacts, and further the printing and scanning process. Few studies have concentrated on examining how human observers can recognize morphing attacks, even as several publications have examined the susceptibility of automated FRS to morphing attacks and offered morphing attack detection (MAD) approaches. MAD approaches base their decisions either on a single image with no reference to compare against (Single-Image MAD (S-MAD)) or using a reference image (Differential MAD (D-MAD)). One prevalent misconception is that an examiner's or observer's capacity for facial morph detection depends on their subject expertise, experience, and familiarity with the issue. No works have reported the specific results of observers who regularly verify identity (ID) documents for their jobs. As human observers are involved in checking ID documents having facial images, a lapse in their competence can result in significant societal challenges. To assess the observers' proficiency, this research first builds a new benchmark database of realistic morphing attacks from 48 different subjects, resulting in 400 morphed images. Unlike the previous works, we also capture images from Automated Border Control (ABC) gates to mimic realistic border-crossing scenarios in the D-MAD setting with 400 probe images, to study the ability of human observers to detect morphed images. A new dataset of 180 morphing images is also produced to research human capacity in the S-MAD environment. Dropout is a particular concern for countries striving to increase human capital. Various attempts have been made by universities to minimize the number of dropouts. Machine learning has also developed various predictive models to determine the likelihood of students dropping out. However, there is a challenge in dropout data, specifically the problem of class imbalance, where the number of students who drop out (minority class) is significantly less than those who do not drop out (majority class). This imbalance can reduce the model's ability to classify students at risk of dropping out. This study proposes classification optimization using the Random Forest algorithm to handle class imbalances in student dropout data. To overcome class imbalance, the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) and Edited Nearest Neighbors (ENN) techniques are used. Additionally, the attribute selection method is also applied to enhance the predictive results. The test results demonstrate that the combination of implementing feature selection with Chi-Square, followed by class imbalance handling with SMOTE-ENN, provided the most optimal predictive performance for identifying the status of both dropouts and graduates. © 2023 IEEE.

Virtualization technologies are still growing bigger and faster. Despite the greatness of its advancement, the costume industry is still very accessible when it comes to real trials. Off-the-shelf stuff are inadequate details for the desired individual to assess its in-depth utility for each garment trying on for a second, including custom stuff are much harder to try out right away. To this end, 2D image-based 3D reconstruction inclusive of touchable-virtualized space is accessible easier to stuff details for mans' decision making in purchasing. We establish the overall end-to-end pipeline from reconstruction until visualization for one instance to be triable on its stuff for a moment. As an expectation, our proposed approach can bring objects into the experimental area and use them immediately without any obstacle. © 2023 IEEE.
