This paper presents EVisionary, a system platform that analyzes the impact of climate factors on electric vehicle charging demand and predicts the charging capacity of electric vehicles. The platform utilizes big data statistical analysis methods and implements seven machine learning and deep learning time series prediction models to forecast short-to-medium-term electric vehicles' charging demand. A case study of the electric vehicle charging data set in Dundee, Scotland is used to explore the relationship between climate factors and charging demand. Performance comparisons of the prediction models are conducted, and the platform enables users to set data analysis and forecast parameters for valuable analysis and forecast results. © 2024 IEEE.

With the development of artificial intelligence (AI) applications, it has become critical for scholars, educators and practitioners to understand an individual’s perceived self-efficacy regarding the use of AI technologies/products. Understanding users’ subsequent behaviors toward the advancement of AI technology is also critical. Despite the growing focus on AI, a suitable scale for measuring AI self-efficacy (AISE) has yet to be developed. Current scales for measuring AISE (i.e., technology self-efficacy scales) are considered inapplicable because they neglect to evaluate perceptions of specific AI characteristics (e.g., AI-based configuration or anthropomorphic design). Given the limitations of existing self-evaluation and diagnostic instruments, the aim of this research is to investigate the construct of AISE, and develop and validate an AISE scale (AISES) for measuring an individual’s perceived self-efficacy in regard to the use of AI technologies/products, in accordance with established exploratory and confirmatory scale development procedures. Specifically, a literature review is employed to generate initial items. An exploratory factor analysis is then performed for item purification purposes. At this stage, potential elements of AISE are extracted. Subsequently, factor extraction and confirmatory factor analysis are used to verify the construct structure of AISE. An analysis of 314 responses indicates that the AISE construct contains four factors: assistance, anthropomorphic interaction, comfort with AI, and technological skills. The scale is comprised of 22 items, and is found to have good fit, reliability, convergent validity, discriminant validity, content validity, and criterion-related validity. Moreover, nomological validity is built by the positive correlation between the AISE construct and motivated learning behaviors. In the modern age of rapid global information circulation, public opinion on social media reflects differences in people's opinions on a certain issue. These opinions can include emotions, likes and dislikes, etc. Once an incident happens, many social media gather a lot of discussions. Such situations let us to analyze the public's perception and preferences through public opinion analysis. Moreover, people cannot live without food, thus our team takes gourmet restaurants as an entry point to develop a public opinion analysis platform for gourmet restaurants. This study uses Python web crawler technology to capture data from public websites, such as PTT, Dcard, and Google Maps user comments. Then we extract public opinion data in the last year, clean and sort the data, and combine the sentiment analysis tool SnowNLP, analyze the positive and negative emotions of users’ comments in various restaurants. And we screen out the top popular restaurants in the form of scores, build a website entry function so that users can query and view the names, ratings of various restaurants, and emotional scores sorted out by our team. This study aimed to evaluate user satisfaction with a data visualization system designed to analyze agricultural product price trends for China trade. The system was developed using public data and Microsoft Power BI, employing the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) process. By incorporating China's economic data and agricultural product prices, the system supports entrepreneurs in making informed trading decisions. The research assessed the system's effectiveness and usability, gauging its potential impact on China's agricultural trading market. This comprehensive approach to developing and evaluating a data visualization system for agricultural product price trends ultimately seeks to enhance trading efficiency with China. The study's findings provide valuable insights into the system's potential to improve decision-making processes in the context of China-focused agricultural trade. © 2024 IEEE.

The post-pandemic period has presented substantial challenges to the hospitality sector, characterized by frequent guest alterations and cancellations of reservations, thereby resulting in operational disruptions. To respond to these challenges, the present research introduced MyStay, an innovative and advanced hotel reservation system built on cloud computing, seamlessly amalgamating the conventional online reservation paradigm with an advanced decision theory-based model. In the pioneering approach, we considered critical variables such as the likelihood of reservation modifications, associated costs, and the hotel's deposit refund policy. Using state-of-the-art software engineering methodologies, a prototype of the MyStay system was designed and implemented, followed by a comprehensive evaluation conducted through rigorous experimental simulations. The findings revealed a noteworthy 49.94% enhancement in guest reservation satisfaction, providing evidence of the substantial improvement in guest contentment facilitated by the upgraded reservation functionality of MyStay. This study result offered the solution for the challenges encountered by the hotel industry in managing reservation modifications during the post-pandemic era and contributed to research on related topics. © 2023 IEEE.

The worldwide aging population has been on the rise due to the advancement of medical science and decreasing birth rates. Unfortunately, this has led to an increase in falls among the elderly, which has emerged as one of the top ten causes of death for elderly individuals in Taiwan. To address this issue, our study aims to leverage the widespread use of smartphones and smartwatches to detect and prevent falls in older adults. Our machine learning model is trained using the UMAFall dataset, which collects data on daily activities and falling actions through five sensing devices. We used Azure Machine Learning Studio to test six different machine learning algorithms to evaluate suitable algorithms. In the end, the Two-Class Decision Tree algorithm achieved the best results. In our next step, this method will be programmed with the TensorFlow Lite and train the model. This model will be integrated into Android-based apps that can be installed on smartphones. By continuously connecting the smartwatch and smartphone Apps, the accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer in both devices can be compared and analyzed in real time using the TensorFlow Lite model, accurately determining the wearer's actions. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

YouTube has become a major advertisement media for industries. People watch TV shows, movie trailers, news and episodes, on-line shows streaming as well. When people want to purchase something, they can find some unboxing reviews, experiences shares, using instructions and services introductions on YouTube before making orders. Traveling guides and educational tutorials are also can be found on YouTube. Thousands of YouTube channels need channel’s subscribers directly or indirectly affect the revenue of channel owners. In addition to YouTube’s own profit from watching, the subscribers are also an important reference when manufacturers want to choose key opinion leaders (KOL) or internet celebrities to promote their products or services. Since, maintaining a stable growth of channel subscribers and reducing the occurrence of unsubscribing are the key issue that every YouTuber needs to understand urgently. In this study, we used a survey to understand subscribers and YouTubers on unsubscribing, and analyzed some key factors for unsubscribing. The data analyses include descriptive analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson’s correlation analysis. Through this study, people can understand key factors for unsubscribing reasons on YouTube platform and the priority of these factors. Whether there is special unsubscribe factors for different channel types and attributes. The key contribution of this study is: a questionnaire on key factors for unsubscribing on the YouTube platform was designed, and it could be utilized for further use in related studies in the future. The rising environmental challenges in waste management have prompted an urgent need for effective recycling initiatives. This study investigates the intention of Generation Z (Gen-Z) in Indonesia to participate in a Deposit Refund System (DRS), a system aimed at promoting recycling behaviors. Using a convergent mixed-method approach, quantitative data from 228 respondents were analyzed via Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to assess relationships between intention, distrust, environmental concern, and behavioral intention. Qualitative data analysis, employing vector embedding and k-means clustering, revealed key patterns and themes in Gen-Z's attitudes. Integration of qualitative and quantitative results through PLS-SEM provided a comprehensive understanding of Gen-Z motivations towards environmental sustainability. The results show that environmental concern positively impacts behavioral intention, while distrust was found to be statistically insignificant. This study offers practical and academic insights for policymakers to design more effective DRS initiatives. Future research could explore the long-term behavioral shifts resulting from DRS participation and the role of digital platforms in enhancing engagement. © 2024 IEEE.

Background: Consumer skepticism affects trust between online shoppers and shop owners in digital commerce, necessitating effective distrust detection mechanisms. This study presents a conceptual model aimed at promoting the adoption of distrust detection and recognition technology among online shop owners, focusing on technologies powered by Large Language Models (LLMs). The model builds on Taylor's Decomposed Theory of Planned Behavior (DTPB) and incorporates factors relevant to online shop owners' perceptions of consumer distrust. Method: A quantitative research approach was used to survey 100 online shop owners to validate the model empirically. Results: The results indicate a significant effect of Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Social Influence (SI) on intention to adopt the technology. For small businesses such as online shops, PU (an internal factor) and SI (an external factor) can predict owners' intention to adopt distrust detection technology. Implications: This study highlights a simplified method for measuring small business owners' intention to adopt advanced information technologies and suggests business opportunities for e-commerce platforms to strategically position online shop owners. © 2024 IEEE.

Ontario, the most populous province and the main driver of economic growth in Canada, has been plagued by rising healthcare costs and declining health quality. Firmly believing that care integration is integral to health quality and efficiency of the healthcare system, the Ontario government has embarked on its journey of healthcare system transformation. The case, by taking a snapshot of its transition from the Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) model to the Ontario Health Team model, offers insights into the governance of the LHIN model as well as the initiative of integrating a myriad of healthcare information systems to support care integration. After 12 years’ controversial operation of LHINs, the government dissolved the organization and announced its plan to switch to the Ontario Health Team model. Under the new model, Ontario Health Teams would be responsible for providing a full and coordinated spectrum of care for patients, especially those with complex care needs. Would this round of transformation and emphatic focus on digital health lead Ontario one step closer to integrated care that Ontarians have been chasing for so long? © Association for information technology Trust 2022.
