Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a well-known malignancy characterized by specific gene mutations that elevate its occurrence. It can be categorized into clear cell RCC (ccRCC), papillary RCC, and chromophobe RCC, which account for approximately 85 % of all primary RCC cases. The mutations typically involve single-nucleotide variants (SNVs) that lead to amino acid substitutions, which influence various biological functions, including gene expression. Therefore, predicting the functional consequences of RCC-related single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), including substitutions, insertions, deletions, and duplications, is crucial for the effective clinical management of RCC. In recent years, the accessibility and popularity of tools for predicting SNP functional variations have grown, especially in research concerning the potential risks associated with key gene mutations in cancer. Accordingly, this study focused on commonly mutated genes in ccRCC, namely VHL, BAP1, PBRM1, and SETD2. Public data from sources such as The Cancer Genome Atlas and the National Center for Biotechnology information were used to identify 61 gene mutation positions. Nine nonsynonymous mutation prediction tools were used for analysis, namely SIFT, Polyphen-2, Mutation Assessor, Fathmm, MutPred, CHASM, Revel, Provean, and SNP&GO. The tools were evaluated by their statistical performance, prediction distribution, and receiver operating characteristic curves. The three tools with the highest accuracy for predicting the functional consequences of mutations in the four frequently mutated genes associated with ccRCC were SIFT (accuracy of 0.75), Provean (0.7), and Polyphen-2 (0.69). These findings offer valuable insights into predicting ccRCC-related gene mutation effects, but further research and validation are essential to support their clinical applications. © 2025

The main purpose of this research is to evaluate the impact of maturity in quality management systems on assets, income and current ratio in companies of the hotel sector in the city of Barranquilla and its metropolitan area, based on the analysis of the level of maturity of the system and the application of multivariate statistical models. To achieve this, the Business management strategies of this sector were characterized, based on a structured model of variables and based on field data referring to a representative sample of companies in the sector (n = 64). With this information, the determining factors in the level of maturity of the quality management systems were identified, which allowed to know if the processes developed in a management system, such as these, in the Hotel Sector, impact positively or negatively on the performance of the sector’s companies based on assets, income and the current ratio by means of a multiple regression model, since, although these processes are being implemented, there are no current studies that evidence the contributions to the performance of the sector’s companies. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors affecting the passenger traffic volume on the high-capacity MRT, to analyze the traffic volume trends, and to make traffic volume predictions more accurately. This paper uses the LSTM (Long Short-term Memory) model and regression analysis for Taipei MRT passenger traffic volume prediction. The training data, including dates, temperatures and number of passengers, were collected, and a regression analysis was performed to find trends in the data.

A collaborative course called Global Awareness for technology Implementation was conducted by the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, and the Tokyo Institute of technology, Japan. The objective of this course was to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, perspectives, and experiences between Thai and Japanese students through project work, using an engineering design approach and the design thinking process to create innovation relevant to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During the class, experts shared their knowledge and experiences with the students. The students then worked on their respective projects to develop solution concepts using the design thinking process. The proposed ideas include the application for English class, smart water quality checker, hydrogen-based energy system for rural area, reduced wasted fashion solution, and auto waste sorting machine. Finally, this study concluded with a summary of the results and findings on the empathy process in the chosen SDGs, and of the commonalities and differences between Thailand and Japan in terms of ideation.

Global aging is an important issue for global development. Elderly people should not be the burden of individual families, but the assets of the entire society. With the help of life stories or past events that elderly people often repeat, we can better understand the importance of certain things. Therefore, life review is a normal and necessary process that can help the elderly to review past experience with a rational attitude, help them to find the meaning of life, and see the essence of their life. The interviews in this study used Nvivo qualitative software to record and analyze the life stories of 4 elderly people in southern Taiwan, in order to understand the important memories and emotions in their lives, discover the background factors of elderly people recalling their life, and maintain precious human stories for families and society via recording and saving. Guiding the elderly to review their lives through nostalgic narrative has the function of storied therapy, and its values include: personal self-identification, rebuilding the integrity of life through memories, and helping the elderly to reposition themselves in a lonely life through their past experience. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Human-computer interaction influences the effectiveness of e-learning knowledge transfer, so it is necessary to pay attention to user engagement and achievement. The aim of this research is to examine the factors that support e-learning knowledge transfer through achievement and user engagement (self-efficacy, self-confidence, self-esteem). The research method was carried out by surveying e-learning users, namely students, data from students was collected through quantitative questionnaires. The data is then processed using the SmartPLS tool through two tests, namely the PLS Algorithm and Boostrapping. The model was tested using inner and outer tests, and the data was analyzed based on the research hypothesis design. Student interactions with e-learning influence several behaviors that can support e-learning knowledge transfer performance. The research results prove that student e-learning achievement has a positive impact on e-learning knowledge transfer. Several supporting factors play a role in increasing e-learning achievement, namely self-efficacy, self-confidence and self-esteem of students. However, the supporting factors for students are only self-efficacy and self-confidence which are directly able to increase e-learning knowledge transfer. It is known that students who are less able to respect themselves in interacting with e-learning are unable to support knowledge transfer. The rules of human-computer interaction play a role in supporting e-learning knowledge transfer, studies on user behavior need to be considered, especially self-efficacy and self-confidence to support online learning academic performance.

It has been detected that using machine learning brings the benefits of automation and improves continuous growth. Data analytics provide the scope of accuracy build-up. Sports science can have a significant and positive impact on coaches and athletes, as well as for the professional sports organization. According to this situation, more and more organizations are competing to implement sports science as the monitoring systems. Along with the development of technology, it becomes easier for humans to carry out their activities, including communication with each other. Advances in the field of communication technologies have led to the use of social networks to support all activity. With social media, all kinds of information that people want to search for can be found easily. Social networks have their uniqueness in their characteristics. Like LINE has free calling and video calling features, while Instagram has features like Instagram Story, where users can document their activities in the form of photos or recordings. By all the characteristics of social networks, it will support the activity of sports science. The methodology of this research focused on quantitative research based on the T-test approach. The result shows that social media involvement can significantly support collaboration in sports science, so it can increase people's motivation to interact with other participants in sport organizations. © 2020 IEEE.

In the era of the global village, frequent cross-border trade in goods has made container transportation a significant part in delivery of cargo. However, rollover accidents of container trucks often occur because of tall truck height, improper cargo stowage or crooked roads. Therefore, how to find the optimal center of gravity (CG) of the packed cargo remains an issue that the transportation industry should not neglect. To optimize cargo stability and reduce the incidence of rollovers, this paper proposes a genetic algorithm that scores the cargo stacking process to find the best CG of the cargo based on the CG of the vehicle. According to the deviation angle and the point closest to the best CG, we can Figure out the optimal cargo stacking method.

This paper proposes a novel method for the image classification of forage plants in fabaceae family by using Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) method. The color image extension jpeg color mode RGB adjust the image to 1000x1000 pixels to get a single image of the template file. All of the sample images, four prototype images were standard scaled and rotated. The image was obtained through the image extraction process using SIFT implements and matching dataset of Forage Plants leaves with matching points to evaluate the accuracy of flea leaf identification, it was found that Senna siamea, Clitoria ternatea and Pithecellobium dulce leaves 100% accuracy but Sesbania grandiflora Desv was obtained with 0% accuracy. The total accuracy of all 4 plants 75%, indicated that the photosynthesis of SIFT leaves was suitable for Senna siamea, Clitoria ternatea and Pithecellobium dulce Because it is 100% accurate, but not with Sesbania grandiflora Desv leaves. The accuracy is 0% because the leaves are dark green. The leaves are not clear. And the leaves are slender, evenly spaced leaves, which makes it a very rare feature. While Senna siamea, Clitoria ternatea and Pithecellobium dulce leaves are clear. Leaf edge is unique. Include appropriate techniques for recognition and classification. © 2020 IEEE.
