Heart rate variability (HRV) is known to be one of the representative ECG-derived features that are useful for diverse pervasive healthcare applications. The advancement in daily physiological monitoring technology is enabling monitoring of HRV in people's everyday lives. In this study, we evaluate the feasibility of measuring ECG-derived features such as HRV, only using the smartphone-integrated ECG sensors system named Sinabro. We conducted the evaluation with 13 subjects in five predetermined smartphone use cases. The result shows the potential that the smartphone-based sensing system can support daily monitoring of ECG-derived features;The average errors of HRV over all participants ranged from 1.65% to 5.83% (SD: 2.54～10.87) for five use cases. Also, all of individual HRV parameters showed less than 5% of average errors for the three reliable cases.

We are living in an era where data means opportunities. New technologies have made it possible to collect and store huge amounts of data. The telecommunications sector, specifically Network Operators, is one of the industries that could benefit from these opportunities. By exploiting this asset, Network Operators could survive lost revenue due to the commoditization of traditional services by other players such as Google and Skype. However, according to information privacy laws, without the permission of their customers, Network Operators have many limitations in using data. In this light, the purpose of this study is to analyze the main factors that affect individuals' intention to grant permission to their Network Operators to use their personal information, and to look at the differences between smartphone and non-smartphone users. We used a survey to measure "intention", "privacy-related attitudes", and "salient beliefs";and received 475 responses. The results are expected to have both theoretical and managerial implications. Moreover, these results may suggest to managers which strategies they should focus on to encourage their customers to give permission to use their personal information.

We identify that Over Design(OD) and Under Design(UD) as two basic forms of negative variability construction which can lead to both functional incompleteness and unexpected quality of both design time and run time. To make our approach practical to a whole software production processes, we propose to evaluate and measure OD and UD in terms of values under economical goals which are concretized with the functionality implementation and the quality management of a quality lifecycle. We work towards relieving OD and UD in terms of variability construction within a variability space.

In order to describe the trend of motor system development of electric vehicle and to figure out the factors that would affect the external drives and the internal resources, the thesis uses scenario analysis method to be the basic framework, adding modified Delphi method to clarify time transition into five categories: changeless, changeable, disappeared, uncertain states and newborn. More precisely, the five factors is used to construct "Scenario Analysis of Markov Modified Delphi Method". The thesis focuses on motor system to do the Foresight analysis, using the transition concept of Markov Chain to clarify the key factors of uncertain states into motor system: brushless DC (BLDC) motor, surface permanent magnet synchronous motor and Switched Reluctance In-Wheel Motor. Moreover, the changeless concept of Markov Chain is used to be background, adding the key factors of changeable and uncertain states to clarify seven kinds of scenario portfolio: basic scenario, scenario assumption I, scenario assumption II, future scenario, breakthrough scenario I, breakthrough scenario II and challenge scenario. It could make the government, industries and related departments realize the development trend of key components about electric vehicle by the scenario descriptions. It can increase their willingness to invest in the related researches to achieve future image, also shape the usable engineering technique and integrated system concepts of electric vehicles in 2020 for public.
