LayOut Loud is an AI-powered augmented reality (AR) and mobile application designed to revolutionize room interior design by offering tailored, real-time solutions for layout optimization. Mapping the Scientific Landscape of Integrated Scheduling Towards Industry 5.0 with A Bibliometric Analysis

The industry is rapidly transitioning from the 4.0 era to the 5.0 era, prompting renewed interest among scholars in scheduling problems. They allow operations to process and assemble various components simultaneously. This bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive understanding of the diverse research perspectives on the potential challenges of integrated scheduling within the framework. We identified 357 Scopus articles and analysed co-occurrence keyword (CNK) by VOSViewer tools and Global Citation Score (GCS) by Scopus tools. The research data obtained from 1993 to 2023 mainly in the subject areas of Engineering, Computer science, Maths, and others. CNK identified six cluster keywords, and nine most cited articles based on normalised GCS. These results contribute to our understanding of the development of scheduling algorithms, shifting from an emphasis on manufacturing transfers to contemporary demand-centric research directions. Furthermore, this research provides a valuable perspective for policymakers, plant personnel, and manufacturing managers to make informed decisions.

Lower bounds for minimizing two types of unnecessary costs in the film and television industry

To optimize film and television production costs, we aim to minimize unnecessary expenditures such as the idle time of top-paid actors and the rental periods of expensive equipment. By scheduling scenes that require these resources on consecutive days, significant cost reductions are achieved. In this study, a branch-and-bound algorithm with two lower bounds has been developed to serve as a benchmark for evaluating other metaheuristic algorithms. The novelty of these lower bounds stems from their set-based operations, which avoid time-consuming computations involving large sparse matrixes. The computational results confirm that the proposed lower bounds effectively reduce these costs. Clearly, this approach can be extended to other industries with similarly complex job compositions, such as scenarios involving multiple small tasks in a single job. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

Distributed Flexible Job Shop Scheduling through Deploying Fog and Edge Computing in Smart Factories Using Dual Deep Q Networks

Flexible job shop scheduling (FJSP) has garnered enormous attention within the realm of smart manufacturing, where, beyond job sequencing, the selection of machines holds considerable importance. As smart factories progress with the Internet of things (IoT) and cyber-physical systems (CPS), scheduling methodologies are advancing towards intelligent decentralization. However, with the expansion of factories, conventional cloud computing struggles to manage the substantial influx of data. To tackle this issue, this work incorporates a fog computing and edge computing framework into the distributed FJSP workstations. In this framework, the workstations each of which consists of multiple machines are categorized based on the different nature of the accommodated machines, and operate independently to reduce unnecessary information transmission, in which each machine is equipped with edge computing capacity. The fusion of fog computing and edge computing allows for the offloading of computational tasks from cloud computing, effectively reducing latency. While previous solutions for FJSP have predominantly relied on linear programming or metaheuristic algorithms, this work proposed a novel distributed approach based on a dual deep Q networks (dual DQN) architecture, integrating deep learning (DL) with reinforcement learning (RL). Within the cloud center, the initial neural network determines the machine selection rules for fog computing, while the secondary neural network decides the job dispatching rules for edge computing devices. Edge computing devices execute the schedule and provide feedback to the cloud, which refines the results through an iterative training process, so that to minimize the makespan. The experimental findings indicate that employing dual DQNs outperforms the methods of utilizing only one single machine selection rule. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

In this paper, the authors investigate the current state of the lighting design and control sector in Thailand’s creative industry. The government aims to promote the creative industry as a key source of income, but there needs more skilled professionals in the industry. The authors have found that successful cases have used the Internet for remote controlling in the creative industry in other countries. Therefore, the paper will explore the potential of using technology to improve professional efficiency and assess the feasibility of implementing remote lighting control systems via the Internet with Thai lighting designers and lighting console operators. Data will be collected through qualitative in-depth interviews and quantitative surveys. The results have shown a promising acceptance rate of wireless devices for lighting control due to their mobility, flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and positive attitudes toward adopting Internet technology. The authors have also proposed a concept design for an internet-based control system tailored to Thai users, focusing on simplicity, ease of connection, and user-friendliness to accommodate those with limited network configuration knowledge. The proposed system aims to reduce professionals, save time, and increase convenience, leveraging Thailand’s extensive wireless internet coverage. These systems could significantly benefit Thailand’s creative industry by addressing the shortage of skilled professionals and improving efficiency.

In recent years, deceptive content such as fake news and fake reviews, also known as opinion spams, have increasingly become a dangerous prospect for online users. Fake reviews have affected consumers and stores alike. Furthermore, the problem of fake news has gained attention in 2016, especially in the aftermath of the last U.S. presidential elections. Fake reviews and fake news are a closely related phenomenon as both consist of writing and spreading false information or beliefs. The opinion spam problem was formulated for the first time a few years ago, but it has quickly become a growing research area due to the abundance of user‐generated content. It is now easy for anyone to either write fake reviews or write fake news on the web. The biggest challenge is the lack of an efficient way to tell the difference between a real review and a fake one; even humans are often unable to tell the difference. In this paper, we introduce a new n‐gram model to detect automatically fake contents with a particular focus on fake reviews and fake news.

Smart Home technology offers technological concepts that can be controlled through smart devices to make it easier for the community. Therefore, smart home technology is starting to seize the home electronics market in Indonesia, especially in the city of Jakarta. This study aims to determine the integration of conventional technology into smart home technology for people in Jakarta. The research model in this study uses UTAUT2 which analyzes nine variables, namely Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Cost, Perceived Ease of Use, Social Influence, Perceived Compatibility, Trust, Perceived Pleasure, and Effort Expectations, Intention to Use Smart Home technology. After the responses were received, data analysis was carried out using the PLS-SEM approach with the SmartPLS application. The results of this study show that there are many people who live in Jakarta who are helped by the presence of smart home technology. However, there are some people who don't really know how to use a smart home because of a lack of knowledge about this technology.

The printed inverted-F antenna is used to design a multi-band antenna, in which the frequency includes LTE, WLAN, and GPS frequency. The printed inverted-F antenna is applied in the environment and architecture of the 14-inch notebook computer. The design frequency of the antenna is 0.7-5 GHz. The usable frequency band includes three different systems: LTE, WLAN, and GPS. They comply with the wireless network specifications in the industry. Based on the analysis data such as current distribution and antenna field type, the variability and difference of the antenna in the environment are analyzed and compared. © 2021 IEEE.

In smart factories, an increasing number of mobile intelligent devices are deployed to meet the growing demands for flexible manufacturing. These devices, equipped with various sensors, synchronize a substantial amount of data with cloud servers for real-time monitoring and control. Fifth generation mobile networks (5G) combined with multi-access edge computing (MEC) provide the capabilities for multiple connections, large-scale data transmission, and efficient response times, becoming the mainstream network architectures for the needs. Additionally, with the emerging trend of energy-saving, recent works have addressed energy consumption as a significant cost factor. However, most previous studies tended to focus solely on cloud servers, neglecting energy consumption at edge computing and underestimating the impact of heterogeneous mobile device. As the scope of smart factory networks continues to expand, the challenges become increasingly critical. This study presents a private 5G MEC system architecture tailored for smart panel factories. The concerned problem is formulated as an integer programming model, which determines deployment locations and quantities for MEC servers and 5G small cells, including picocells and femtocells, so as to minimize the overall deployment costs while meeting the constraints of connectivity, capacity, latency, coverage, serviceability, and energy consumption. Since the edge server deployment problem is NP-hard, this study further proposes a hybrid metaheuristic algorithm, CSAVNS, which combines the strengths of crow search algorithm (CSA) and variable neighborhood search (VNS). In the global search phase of CSA, the VNS local search is introduced to enhance the algorithm's capabilities. Experimental analysis demonstrates that the proposed CSAVNS outperforms other algorithms in terms of solution solving capabilities. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

ABC Application is owned by ABC Company which already has branches of more than 100 stores in 7 countries where Indonesia is one of the branches with 79 stores spread across several cities, especially Jabodetabek area. ABC has launched an application that has been operating for more than a year;because the ABC application is new to the food and beverage sector, the application has received several positive and negative responses from its users especially on its user experience. Based on this background, this research will more focus on user experience of ABC Application. ABC Application can find out the assessment of user experience and improve the results of any negative responses in the form of criticism or suggestions from users. The method used in this research is the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). From the research results that have been carried out, the novelty scale is the scale with the lowest attachment of all respondents. Therefore, improving and developing the ABC application through this scale is necessary. © 2022 IEEE.
