"Device-independent"not only represents a relaxation of the security assumptions about the internal working of the quantum devices,but also can enhance the security of the quantum *** the paper,we put forward the first device-independent quantum secure direct communication(DIQSDC)protocol and analyze its security and communication efficiency against collective *** practical noisy quantum channel condition,the photon transmission loss and photon state decoherence would reduce DI-QSDC’s communication quality and threaten its absolute *** solving the photon transmission loss and decoherence problems,we adopt noiseless linear amplification(NLA)protocol and entanglement purification protocol(EPP)to modify the DI-QSDC *** the help of the NLA and EPP,we can guarantee DI-QSDC’s absolute security and effectively improve its communication quality.

A Novel 3D Video Fingerprinting Algorithm Based on Local Feature Points

Digital rights management of the 3 D contents is a crucial open issue in the 3 D video industry. A novel robust fingerprinting algorithm is proposed for protecting the copyright of the 3 D video. Unlike the existing algorithms extracting visual features separately from the 2 D videos and the depth maps, in our algorithm a novel local stereo space is constructed according to the depth information of the pixels around the extracted local feature points in the 2 D videos, and the 3 D videos are processed in a holistic manner. In the proposed space,the 3 D-transform-feature is extracted and aggregated into a feature matrix, and then the compact 3 D video fingerprints are obtained from the eigenspace of the matrix. Our comprehensive experiments are conducted on a 3 D video database, and the results have demonstrated the robustness and discrimination of the proposed algorithm. Moreover, our fingerprints cost less storage spaces than the existing approaches.

In this paper, a two-stage channel estimation scheme is presented for frequency-selective millimeter wave (mmWave) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with hybrid precoding. Specifically, at the first stage, likelihood function with respective to the channel angle of departure (AoD) and angle of arrival (AoA) are maximized by the deterministic maximum likelihood (DML) estimator to obtain a coarse channel estimate. At the second stage, a space-alternating generalized expectation-maximization (SAGE) based algorithm is proposed to refine the channel parameters. In addition, an angle paring scheme is proposed to paired the AoA and AoD. Simulation results show the better performance of the proposed method.

BACKGROUND:Brain networks should be ideal targets for non-invasive brain stimulation, as network dysfunction is a common feature of various neuropsychiatric disorders. Understanding the mechanisms of network-targeted stimulation is essential for advancing its clinical applications. MATERIAL AND METHOD:The current study utilized simultaneous network-targeted transcranial direct current stimulation(tDCS) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate the effects of tDCS targeting antagonistic networks on brain dynamics. A total of 143 healthy participants were recruited and assigned to receive central executive network (CEN)-targeted tDCS (C-targeted group), default mode network (DMN)-targeted tDCS (D-targeted group), or sham tDCS (sham group). fMRI data with three sections (pre-stimulation, during-stimulation, post-stimulation) were collected across all subjects. Individual electric field (EF) strength was simulated using individual head model. Six recurring brain patterns (co-activation patterns, CAPs) were identified. The temporal indices of these CAPs (occurrence, fraction time, persistence time) and their transition probabilities were calculated. This study first examined the effects of C-targeted / D-targeted / sham tDCS on temporal indices and further explored the contribution of brain networks' EF strength on the altered temporal indices. RESULTS:C-targeted tDCS significantly increased the temporal indices of CAPs dominated by DMN and the transition probabilities from other CAPs to DMN-dominated CAPs during stimulation. Meanwhile, the decreased temporal indices of CAP dominated by CEN, and its transition probabilities to these CAPs were also found during C-targeted tDCS. In contrast, the D-targeted tDCS had only a slight effect on brain dynamics, while sham tDCS showed no significant impact. Further fusion analyses revealed that the EF strength in the salience network made a large contribution to the temporal indices of CAPs during stimulation

To visualize the temporal dynamics of human visual motion perception under conditions close to everyday life, we measured the time course of the perceived motion vector when the observers viewed naturalistic movie clips that featured large direction changes of target objects. The spatiotemporal position of the target's local motion was probed by a flashing dot that appeared within the range of ± 66.7 ms from the direction change. Observers had to report the perceived local motion using a motion vector matching method. The results show that the deviation of the perceived flow from the physical ground truth increased when the probe was presented near the direction changes. The pattern of errors averaged across multiple trials could be described by a Gaussian temporal smoothing of the local motion vectors, with a window size spanning about 120 ms. The results are consistent with previous reports of the sluggish temporal response of visual motion processing revealed by artificial stimuli and different tasks. However, a detailed examination of the response of each trial of our data indicated that the observers did not report a gradual transition from pre-change to post-change vectors but reported either of the two directions in a bimodal fashion with gradually changing response rates over time. This suggests that even though the motion processing may be sluggish, human observers correctly recognize a sudden direction change as a sudden event, not as a gradual transition.

Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) wireless communication systems are fundamental in many intelligent transportation applications, e.g., traffic load control, driverless vehicle, and collision avoidance. Hence, developing appropriate V2V communication systems and standardization require realistic V2V propagation channel models. However, most existing V2V channel modeling studies focus on car-to-car channels;only a few investigate truck-to-car (T2C) or truck-to-truck (T2T) channels. In this paper, a hybrid geometry-based stochastic model (GBSM) is proposed for T2X (T2C or T2T) channels in freeway environments. Next, we parameterize this GBSM from the extensive channel measurements. We extract the multipath components (MPCs) by using a joint maximum likelihood estimation (RiMAX) and then cluster the MPCs based on their evolution patterns. We classify the determined clusters as line-of-sight, multiple-bounce reflections from static interaction objects (IOs), multiple-bounce reflections from mobile IOs, multiple-bounce reflections, and diffuse scattering. Specifically, we model multiple-bounce reflections as double clusters following the COST 273/COST2100 method. This article presents the complete parameterization of the channel model. We validate this model by contrasting the root-mean-square delay spread and the angular spreads of departure/arrival derived from the channel model with the outcomes directly derived from the measurements. © 2021, CC BY-NC-ND.

Linear codes with few weights have applications in secret sharing, authentication codes, association schemes and strongly regular graphs. In this paper, several classes of t -weight linear codes over F q are presented with the defining sets given by the intersection, difference and union of two certain sets, where t = 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 and q is an odd prime power. By using Weil sums and Gauss sums, the parameters and weight distributions of these codes are determined completely. Moreover, three classes of optimal codes meeting the Griesmer bound are obtained, and computer experiments show that many (almost) optimal codes can be derived from our constructions.

We propose a new four-dimensional orthant-symmetric 128-ary modulation format (4D-OS128) with a spectral efficiency of 7 bit/4D-sym. The proposed format fills the gap between polarization-multiplexed 8- and 16-ary quadrature-amplitude modulation (PM-8QAM and PM-16QAM). Numerical simulations show that 4D-OS128 outperforms two well-studied 4D geometrically-shaped modulation formats: 128SP-16QAM and 7b4D-2A8PSK by up to 0.65 dB for bit-interleaved coded modulation at the same spectral efficiency. These gains are experimentally demonstrated in a 11×233 Gbit/s wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) transmission system operating at 5.95 bit/4D-sym over 6000 km and 9000 km for both EDFA-only and hybrid amplification scenarios, respectively. A reach increase of 15% is achieved with respect to 128-ary set-partitioning 16QAM. Furthermore, the proposed 4D-OS128 is also compared to D4 lattice-based constellation, 16QAM and probabilistically-shaped 16QAM with finite blocklength via simulation. © 2020, CC BY.

Robust acoustic scene classification using a multi-spectrogram encoder-decoder framework

This article proposes an encoder-decoder network model for Acoustic Scene Classification (ASC), the task of identifying the scene of an audio recording from its acoustic signature. We make use of multiple low-level spectrogram features at the front-end, transformed into higher level features through a well-trained CNN-DNN front-end encoder. The high level features and their combination (via a trained feature combiner) are then fed into different decoder models comprising random forest regression, DNNs and a mixture of experts, for back-end classification. We report extensive experiments to evaluate the accuracy of this framework for various ASC datasets, including LITIS Rouen and IEEE AASP Challenge on Detection and Classification of Acoustic Scenes and Events (DCASE) 2016 Task 1, 2017 Task 1, 2018 Tasks 1A & 1B and 2019 Tasks 1A & 1B. The experimental results highlight two main contributions;the first is an effective method for high-level feature extraction from multi-spectrogram input via the novel C-DNN architecture encoder network, and the second is the proposed decoder which enables the framework to achieve competitive results on various datasets. The fact that a single framework is highly competitive for several different challenges is an indicator of its robustness for performing general ASC tasks. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. Polar-coded forward error correction for MLC NAND flash memory

With the ever-growing storage density, high-speed, and low-cost data access, flash memory has inevitably become popular. Multi-level cell(MLC) NAND flash memory, which can well balance the data density and memory stability, has occupied the largest market share of flash memory. With the aggressive memory scaling, however, the reliability decays sharply owing to multiple interferences. Therefore, the control system should be embedded with a suitable error correction code(ECC) to guarantee the data integrity and accuracy. We proposed the pre-check scheme which is a multi-strategy polar code scheme to strike a balance between reasonable frame error rate(FER) and decoding latency. Three decoders namely binaryinput, quantized-soft, and pure-soft decoders are embedded in this scheme. Since the calculation of soft loglikelihood ratio(LLR) inputs needs multiple sensing operations and optional quantization boundaries, a 2-bit quantized hard-decision decoder is proposed to outperform the hard-decoded LDPC bit-flipping decoder with fewer sensing operations. We notice that polar codes have much lower computational complexity compared with LDPC codes. The stepwise maximum mutual information(SMMI) scheme is also proposed to obtain overlapped boundaries without exhausting search. The mapping scheme using Gray code is employed and proved to achieve better raw error performance compared with other alternatives. Hardware architectures are also given in this paper.
