Leukemia is a kind of blood cancer that damages the cells in the blood and bone marrow of the human *** produces cancerous blood cells that disturb the human’s immune system and significantly affect bone marrow’s production ability to effectively create different types of blood cells like red blood cells(RBCs)and white blood cells(WBC),and *** can be diagnosed manually by taking a complete blood count test of the patient’s blood,from which medical professionals can investigate the signs of leukemia ***,two other methods,microscopic inspection of blood smears and bone marrow aspiration,are also utilized while examining the patient for ***,all these methods are labor-intensive,slow,inaccurate,and require a lot of human experience and *** authors have proposed automated detection systems for leukemia diagnosis to overcome these *** have deployed digital image processing and machine learning algorithms to classify the cells into normal and blast ***,these systems are more efficient,reliable,and fast than previous manual diagnosing ***,more work is required to classify leukemia-affected cells due to the complex characteristics of blood images and leukemia cells having much intra-class variability and inter-class *** this paper,we have proposed a robust automated system to diagnose leukemia and its *** have classified ALL into its sub-types based on FAB classification,i.e.,L1,L2,and L3 types with better *** have achieved 96.06%accuracy for subtypes classification,which is better when compared with the state-of-the-art methodologies.

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a fundamental technology of the Internet of Things (IoT). Group communications in the form of broadcasting and multicasting incur efficient message deliveries among resource-constrained sensors in IoT-enabled WSNs. Secure and efficient key management is significant to protect the authenticity, integrity, and confidentiality of multicast messages. This paper develops two group key establishment protocols for secure multicast communications among resource-constrained devices in IoT. The applicability of the two protocols are analyzed and justified by performance and security analysis.

Early fault detection in nuclear industry is studied. Tools have been developed for control room operators and experts in an industrial project. Self-organizing Map (SoM) method has been used in combination with other methods. Decision support visualizations are introduced. The usability of methods have been tested and verified by constructing prototype systems. The use of SoM method in dynamic systems is discussed. Applications for industrial domain are presented. Data sets from a Finnish nuclear power plant have been analyzed. promising results in failure management are achieved.

Feature subset selection has become an essential part in data mining applications. In this article, feature subset selection is integrated into real time process fault detection. Various methods based on both dependency measures and cluster separability measures are discussed. An intuitive tool for process visualization is introduced. Experiments on nuclear power plant simulator data are carried out to assess the effectiveness and performance of the methods. Early detection of failures, which is one important goal in the project, is achieved with help of visualizations developed in this work. In a leak scenario an illustrative example was produced.

packet Level Authentication (pLA) is a novel coun- termeasure against distributed denial-of-service attacks. Each packet sent across a network has a digital signature and public key attached to it, allowing each hop along the route to verify the authenticity of packets. This requires high-speed elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) to improve throughput. In this paper, we present a software solution of cryptography for pLA using the combination of Koblitz curves to increase throughput and implicit certificates to decrease storage and computation overhead. A software implementation is presented, built on openSSL libraries and extending the openSSL ApI to support not only fast ECC using Koblitz curves, but implicit certificates and fast signature verifications using implicit certificates as well. Software implementation results of these ApI extensions are provided, yielding significant speedup of elliptic curve operations.

peer-to-peer (p2p) overlay networks are currently being used to build large scale distributed systems running various decentralized applications like distributed storage, content distribution, collaborative scheduling, and leader election. Although we have protocols like Byzantine agreement, voting schemes etc. for building resilient distributed applications; we have very few solutions available for safeguarding these distributed protocols from Sybil attacks. In a Sybil attack, an adversary could forge multiple identities and create multiple, distinct nodes in the system hence overthrowing any upper bound on number of malicious nodes in these protocols. In this paper, we present a multipath routing protocol using graph theoretic approach to group the Sybil nodes first and then to poll them using host identity protocol (HIp) to decide upon whether they really belong to a Sybil group. HIp clearly separates participating users from overlay nodes. It overcomes p2p network challenges like stability over time and identity differentiation. We also use a social network where the attack edges are minimum. An attack edge between a malicious user and an honest user indicates that the malicious user is able to establish a trust relationship with the honest user by some means. We perform simulations to show the feasibility of our distributed protocol.

An approach to intelligent process automation based on a society of BDI-agents is presented in this paper. According to this approach a higher-level multi-agent systems based automation layer supervises an ordinary process automation system. The purpose of the agent layer is to monitor the operation of the lower-level automation system and semi-autonomously reconfigure its control logic when needed. The agent layer operates as a multi-agent system consisting of BDI-agents, which cooperatively create and run reconfiguration sequences on the ordinary automation system in order to adapt its control logic to various situations. The adaptation process may take place both in reactive and deliberative fashion. In this way the approach aims to increase the flexibility and responsiveness properties of the automation system. The approach is demonstrated with a laboratory test process where process startup and fault recovery experiments have been performed. Results from the experiments are described. © 2005 IEEE.

This paper derives a closed-form expression for the Cramér-Rao bound (CRB) on estimating the source signals in the linear independent component analysis problem, assuming that all independent components have finite variance. It is also shown that the fixed-point algorithm known as FastICA can approach the CRB (the estimate can be nearly efficient) in two situations: (1) when the distribution of the sources is not too much different from Gaussian, for symmetric version of the algorithm using any of the custom nonlinear functions (pow3, tanh, gauss), and (2) when the distribution of the sources is very different from Gaussian (e.g. has long tails) and the nonlinear function in the algorithm equals the score function of each independent component. © 2005 IEEE.
